Welcome CJ6 and Netty!!!

Lea, I am so sorry for your loss. I am praying for the Lord to comfort and strengthen your family at this time.

Circumstance really can get the better of us can't it? But we serve a God that is bigger than that. I often think of Peter as he was walking toward Jesus on the water. Once his eyes fell away from the Lord he started to fall too. It is so easy to be distracted by what is going on around us and worry too. And I am certainly guilty of that one! In fact I am finally at a place of peace after about 2-3 weeks of anxiousness and worry. I hold God's word in my heart and dwell on it. I have a hard time memorizing verses so I write them out on index cards and have one in almost each room (:)) and in my purse and I also have a journal that I write the verse down at least once a day in hopes to memorize it.

Kristina,

Some verses for you:

Isaiah 26:3-4
Joshua 1:9
Jeremiah 29:11
Proverbs 19:23

The very last thing I do before bed is read His word (in addition to prayer) If you have trouble falling asleep pray through the alphabet; start by praying for everyone and everything that starts with the letter 'a', work your way through. This will not only give you a sweet time of communion with the Lord but it will be beneficial to those you are praying for and take your focus off of your worries. We are told to hold every thought captive, when those thoughts pop in your head, stop. Reflect on His word and His promises, His faithfulness!

Instead of looking for a book on being free from worry do a Bible study. Study the verses which speak about being anxious and worrying and study the verses about trusting Him. Record what you find in a journal and see how the Lord speaks to you and ministers to you as you study His word.

Like Peggy Ann said, Praise Music!!! Our environment can be so enriched when we fill it with Him. I love to have my praise music on and I also keep a Bible open so throughout the day I can peek in between jobs at a verse and dwell on that.

Kristina,
I am praying that the Lord would comfort your heart, that He would remove any worry or anxiousness and replace it with His peace knowing that He is ever so faithful and is with us wherever we go.

By His Grace, For His Glory
~Sharon

Thank you so much.

I slept so good last night. The idea of praying through the alphabet is a wonderful idea.

If felt so good to get a entire night of sleep. Dh was stumped. I am typically tossing and turning and keeping him up, and he told me this morning I was snoring! Ha ha ha! Boy it felt so good. In fact we slept so good neither of us made it to the gym at 5am. In a way, we needed a day off anyway.

Thank you again!

Have a blessed day!

Kristina,

I am SO GLAD that you got some good rest! It sure makes a difference :)
The only thing I need to work on with the praying through the alphabet is trying to start backwards so I don't miss anyone :)

Have a Blessed Day Ladies!

I meditate on each line of the Lords prayer when the worry demon attempts to derail sleep along with praying for people.

Sharon...I had never heard of praying through the Alphabet when sleep aludes you...but you can bet
I will remember that one and pass it on to others also.

If I can't sleep...I just figure my Beloved Father wants me up for "Night School". Those times are
so beneficial. He usually has an extremely good reason for our time together in the Word and Prayer,
and then I can go back to bed and sleep like a lamb.

Cherime...I loved your way to beat the Sleep Theif too.

blessings,
peggy

I am christian and proud of it. My evangelism centers around creating crafts with a christian theme or bible verse. I do this because it can provide pathways to individuals to help develop faith or create dialog with non christians. I am just starting to learn how to declare my faith outloud. I also am currently doing a women of the bible quilt that includes a bible study to help my own relationship with the Lord.

Its great having so many sisters sharing this walk.

Welcome Lesley!!!

What a neat ministry! I am always looking for opportunity to share Christ too. I hope you will post a picture of your quilt :)

Peggy Ann,

Yes yes yes! Night School. I have learned alot at Night School :)

Cherime,

I love when Paul says "I thank my God upon every remembrance of you always in every prayer of mine making my request for you all with joy for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;" Philippians 1:3-5 Whenever anyone comes to mind, stop and pray for them. I think of this verse and Paul is speaking of the saints but I think we can take this a step further and pray for those that do not yet know the Lord as they come to mind. Especially when someone has hurt us it's good to pray for them and ask the Lord how we can minister to them.

Lea, please know that I, too, am praying for you and your family. May the Lord encompass and fill you all with His love and peace. Big hugs to you, sister. God bless you.

Girls - I've kind of been out of the loop, I'm sorry. Last week I found out I suffered a stroke - in my eye - sometime over the Easter holiday, or possibly the week before. I have lost partial vision in my left eye and have started a three-month round of injections in my eye with the hopes of improving the condition. I'm fine, honest - I can see well enough to do whatever I need to do, including driving; but right now I'm experiencing a hypersensitivity to light, and it's very difficult to stay on the computer very long. I'm fine, though, really. I feel good - just a little anxious for them to figure out what's going on soas to try to prevent it from happening again. For now, I'm going to be down for the count for a little while, though. Sitting at the computer or being out in the sun gives me quite a headache - no fun.

I will be thinking of and praying for all of you, and checking in when I can, to be sure. In the meantime, I suppose you'll all be very relieved to have a break from my long posts, though, huh? ;) Awww... You know I love you all!!! :)

Please just stay well and keep the faith! Hope to "see" you all again soon!

Hugs and blessings -

Nini

Nini . . . I've missed you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
But you've been in my prayers!
Thanks for your update email . . .prayers continue!

BTW: I've spent a lot of time at "Night School" too . . WOW! I heard a Christian woman speaker talk about the Lord getting her up REALLY EARLY in the morning sometimes so that she could "partake of the feast" the Lord had prepared for her . . . in the quiet, in the peace. I've thought often of the "feasts" I been able to partake of in those hours!

I've been reading Frank Peretti's new book "Illusion." I've loved his books in the past and being that he is from the Pacific Northwest, he uses areas that are familiar with me. This one is different than I have read before, but always putting Jesus first. I think one of the things I like about him, is that he often portrays the world as a confusing place that can muddy our relationships with God. If any of you have or are reading this, I'd like to know what you think.

Praying for you Nini.
The Lord has done the same to me on several occasions, when He wants me up early to pray for someone or to give me a revelation I always know that he will get me through the day and he always has.

79 pages IS wonderful!

I have an update on dh.

He has been notified that he is the best match for donating a kidney to his sister (who is on dialysis).

I would love for him (and his sister) to be covered in prayer during this surgery and recovery. As soon as I know the date of surgery I will post it.

Hugs!
