My "official" birthday is in Dec. I always hated it. I was busy dealing with finals, shopping, snow etc. So about 15 yrs ago I "changed" my birthday to Aug. 9th, and this is when I celebrate. If it weren't for my brother (who refuses to Play) sending me a birthday card in Dec. I probably wouldn't remember in Dec. To me it is just another day. Now we usually go to the beach or a ballgame and I am so happy to celebrate.
It has never bothered me to turn any age before but as I am about to turn 60 I am struggling. I come from a family who lives a long time and I think I will to, but turning 60 means that at least 2/3 of my life is over. I don't care so much about me but I wonder if my young grandchildren will even remember me. I've had an amazing, faith full life and I want them to know. The photos aren't in the albums, I haven't told all the stories yet. 60 just seems so-final. It's hard to explain but I am just so much more concious of time running out now.

My Birthday is November 18th 1982...and my parents always made a huge deal out of birthdays. One of my favorite memories was my dad waking me up early in the morning with a candle in a fresh picked tomato from the garden to wish me a happy birthday...I look back now at the specialness of that. I also always got a call or a hug at the exact time I came out into the world 10:37am!

My birthday is June 24th. I am the epitomy of a summer baby! To me my birthday always meant the beginning of summer, usually falling on the last day of school when I was small (or smaller, heehee). So for me my birthday is like the magic that summer brings: running around in your bathing suit all day and night, catching fireflies, roasting marshmallows and laughing around a fire. When it comes to my birthday I will always be a child at heart! Chomping at the bit to celebrate: family, friends, cake and delicious treats, and of course presents!
