Crochet and I weren't even on speaking terms. I'm a knitter. I tried crochet and just couldn't get the hang of it. We parted on bad terms. Yesterday I sat down determined and taught myself to crochet with the help of youtube. I'm crocheting a granny square type blanket!

Wonderful. I'm the opposite, I can crochet by can't figure out the knitting. Keep us posted on how the granny square blanket in coming out. Good luck.

Persistance pays off! I am just the opposite. I am a crocheter that took some knitting classes last year, but need a refresher course. The two needlecrafts are so different from each other.

I am trying to be the person my dogs think I am.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Yay! Doin' a happy dance just for you! There's a reason why God invented Youtube.

I learned new crochet stitches on You Tube.

And, I learned to knit from the same.

Now, I want to learn to tat.

You go girl!

Awesome! Hands up to you! You may get addicted to it :)

I taught myself to knit and crochet - things I should have paid attention to when my grandmothers were both alive. Silly me, as a teenager, I went to school and work and didn't care about handmade items. Now I knit, crochet, and have done a bit of needle tatting. I hope to learn to quilt next.

I used to do both......began knitting again a couple years ago. Want to crochet again as well????
Aren't the tutorials on you tube the best?! I go to them often to learn new knitting stitches!
Have to try the ones for granny squares which I used to love to do.

Thanks y'all!!

The two needle crafts really are very different. I'm already slightly addicted to the granny square blanket. I love love love the youtube tutorials! I am a visual learner. I need to see it done several times before I pick something up. I'm becoming ridiculously crafty and I love it. I love being able to make things with my hands!

Here's to YouTube! I used to have no ability to understand knitting at all, until I discovered the videos there. So helpful to be able to watch over and over until you get it.

Don't you just love utube. Anytime I run across something in a pattern that I can't figure out, I type it into utube and viola! a video!

I knit and crochet...sometimes I have to sit and focus on which one I'm doing and remeber how to get started, but then it's easy-peasy! Next you should learn Tatting! or Tunisian! there is soo much to learn!

Good job Cassi!!!!!! You will get hooked on crochet. I both knit and crochet and knit most of the time, but when I get bored with that, I get out the old crochet hooks and go to town. Most things I make I do not use a pattern, make up my own. Enjoy your new hobby.

Rag rugs are crochet! That's part of the reason I buckled down and got to learning it. There are rag rug tutorials on youtube!
