Yesterday, I put the goslings (10 days old) on the ground in an enclosed and covered pen, they are too big for the brooder cage. When I went down after dark to herd them into the dog kennel (it has a heat lamp inside) I counted and came up 1 short. After a few paniced seconds I located it, upside down between the wall and a brick. I picked it up and there was a piece of string wrapped around a wing and in its mouth. After carefully removing string from wing and closer examination the little brat had swallowed some of the string. I did not have a pocket knife, so I pulled and waited, pulled and waited, after a few tense minutes out popped a wad of goose-slavia covered string. Yep, all over my face and glasses. Baby goose was stressed but up and moving around with every other gosling this morning, several checks today and all is well in the gosling pen.

Oh no! I bet the little baby thought the string was a worm! So glad he is ok.

I am trying to be the person my dogs think I am.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Glad the baby goose was okay! I'd love to see a picture of that little cutie!
