UPDATE AS OF JULY 19th. Many of you have been emailing me and asking about Shaina.
Holly has been kind and given me updated information about her. Shaina is in Boston for surgery. I understand...according to the email Holly sent that the surgery is today. Please keep this dear sweet child...her sister who is donating the bone marrow and her family in your prayers.
Shaina is needing a lot of encouragement during this difficult time. If you would like the hospital address where you can send her mail please email me and let me know.
INITIAL POSTING...
I know there is a lot of traffic on this part of the site...therefore I am posting this request here.
Our farm sister Holly(Tall Holly) posted this on the Prayer Request part of MJF. UPDATE ON SHAINA...Posted by Holly on June 20th. Please read!!!
Shaina is a 12 year old young girl battling Blood Cancer now for 2 years. She had good reports for a couple of months...now it has returned and they are getting negative reports. She was born the same time as the 9/11 tragedy was happening(Wonderful things do happen in the midst of tragedy!) She is having to go to Boston for more treatments. According to Holly, Shaina loves to get mail.
I am asking that each of you who can to send this precious young girl a card, or anything you choose. When I asked Holly what Shaina would like...Holly emailed me saying she might enjoy getting something telling about the state we live in. You know little girls...they love everything!!!
If you can help with this...please sign up here.
Please email me for instructions to get Shaina's mail to her.
I hope we can have one or more sweet farmgirls from every state to take part in this. I hate the thought of any child having to go through something so horrific. It would mean everything at this point to be able to put a smile on this little girls face! Please keep Shaina in your thoughts and prayers!

I think this would be fine. I cannot imagine what this little girl is going through. Even though I don't know her...when I read the prayer request, I just felt led to post this and get as many farmgirls as possible to send her mail...since Holly says she loves to get mail.

I sent her a card from the other prayer request I will have to try and find something from up here in the Redwoods to send to her. Can she eat candy? I have a redwood cup and could fill that and maybe send some redwoods post cards? Does that sound ok?

I would love to send her something from South Carolina the North West part. My Daughter leads the children's Bible Club at our Church, I will tell her and she can have them pray for her and they can send her a card. Never under estimate the power of Prayer !!!!
