Anyone interested in bartering homeschool stuff? Books and such? We could start a thread over in the barter area. . .

Life of Fred books (we have apples, butterflies, dogs and cats we need the next four but my daughter loves them so I'd be interested in any) and Math-U-See primer and/or Cappa. Those are the specific things right now. I'll add if I think of anything else :). I know I have some First Language Lessons stuff to trade but I need to get it out to see what specifically I have.

I am homeschooling my soon to be 6 year old grandaugher in kindergarten.I would love any tips that would help me with this. It is much harder than I thought. I mean that I can't decide how far to go in math, reading, writing. She is doing quite well but I feel like I need some advice from those who have done this before. I am working on sight words and she is coming along with that. There are times when she just doesn't want to cooperate but not often so I tell her that I am the teacher and she much pay attention. Just sharing and hoping for some ideas or advice. Thanks

At 6 you don't need to push too much, if she doesn't want to, don't push, go further when she wants to. Basically when my oldest was 6 we only did about 30 minutes a day for school.

There's lots of free online curricula out there, online and to be bought for very inexpensive. I am doing something between old fashioned education, rays for math, a little ambleside online here and there (mainly reading/science), discoveryK12 and a little easy peasy. But, I like that discoveryk12 (not K12! program), keeps it all recorded online what your child does of it (you choose what and how much they do of it) and you can print that out for records at any time. That is nice. But, I also like real books, so I like mc guffey's, Ray's, etc etc...
