My sweetheart and i clean a few houses, and one of our favorite clients texted the othef day to ask if we kept chickens. I sure hated to say no. I always have had a flock. Anyway, she said that she had a cute red and white barn shaped coop in the box -actually 2 big boxes! And would love to find a home for it. She had paid a lot for it and had intended to somehow make it be an outdoor safe room for hef 4 cats, but had never done it, and had gone with another idea. I told her, that althoughtful dont have have chickens I we do have alot of other birds and want to add doves next. She said that it was mine. I am so excited to get it set up. Wont be until after the game Christmas rush of projects. It looks like it will be adorable. Never had a kit coop before. Then to get some doves. Sure wish i could have chickens here.

What a great gift! So happy for you. Your coop sounds like the one I bought for my 3 chickens. It has a lil red barn with 3 nesting boxes and a covered screened area. It's so easy to clean ~ you'll love that part of it for sure. Your doves will be right at home.

I think doves would be more fun than chickens myself. But that was a very generous gift from your friend. And yes, be sure and post pictures when you get it put together.

I think I saw one of those red barn chicken coops at TSC last spring. You'll enjoy having doves. I used to have a white ring-necked dove named Ghoster who thought my hand was another dove. He would bow and coo whenever I put my hand in front of him. He was a neat bird. I had some others as well but they kept having babies so I found another home for them. Doves are prolific.

I was wondering how many doves i should get and my husband, (who has had them before) said that a pair will be plenty to get started. I saw some cute little diamond doves at the last bird show we went to, but leaning toward regular ring neck doves. Cant wait to hear that beautiful cooing sound from them. We get wild ones in the yard sometimes and i love them. They stop i to drink from our pond. Sara- this one sounds like yours! So excited to get going on this project after christmas. I will take pictures for sure!

Deborah, i love your coop. Hoping this one is about that size. I have an idea where it would fit well if it isnt bigger.
