Unfortunately our puppy Rose is too interested in her. We will get her fixed and go to live in a barn at our friends farm.

Vanessa, you are one busy person. I also love your garden stone tiles. I too used to make wine and when we sold our house we I gave away all my wine making stuff, I don't know why I did that except we had 30 days to move out per the sale and our house was not even built yet, LOL I am laughing now not so much while we lived in a camper. Anyway I may get back into it; last year I made Apple Liquor and Cranberry Liquor it came out very tasty, the apple is just about gone. both of them were great during the fall.

I have marvel at my garden-it is lush and green! From the fomt left is the weedy strawberry patch, tomatoes and okra, beans on the trellis, then cushaw and pumpkins. In back is my son's planter (he started late), sunflowers, asparagus and a pollinator garden.

My harvesting companion is my veggie loving Tina. She scavenges for low hanging beans and even grabbed a tomato when I wasn't watching her.

I had a dog that would steal cucumbers off the neighbor's plant.

Tina attributes her long life to eating veggies!
Miss Kitty is now at my friend's place, recuperating until she joins the other jellical cats.

I love these photos of your gardens ladies! Our is a small one done in the metal troughs we bought at Wilco. We've got 2, one for Roma tomatoes and another for beefsteak. Our beefsteaks have been slow this summer. It was the first time we've planted this variety. We also have a raised bed with zucchini and potatoes planted in canvas bags. Does anyone have experience with potatoes? We tried them a few years ago but had issues drying them out after harvesting. I've been doing some research and the only dark safe place I've got available is a hall closet that currently houses my craft supply boxes. I'm thinking I'm going to have to relocated my craft boxes to outside storage until I get the potatoes dried and ready for winter storage. I'd love tips from anyone who's had success with them. thanks!

I am so sore! My sweetie had the urge to update the sunroom. We've painted it and this morning started to pull off the linoleum tiles and lay plank flooring. We got a heat gun to soften the tiles and had to get extra underlayer paper. There are still a few more feet left to put planks on, but we're both wiped out.

It's been a while since I've shown off my area. The autumn colors are in their glory.

I love to see everyone's farmsteads! We just bought our slice of heaven three years ago. It was a barren, sandy wasteland of pencil cactus and fire ants. I've been using permaculture and organic practices and building infrastructure a little at a time. Was able to get tons of carrots, green beans, soup beans, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, herbs, and more this year!

I also finally settled on a name for our hobby farm -- "Patchwork Herbs Farm" and my potting shed is "tea Thyme Cottage." I even made a little nook in the shed where I can sit and enjoy a cup of tea on nice days. I also just got my first chickens and put down a deposit on honey bee hives for the spring. Lots more good things to come!

Love It! Lots of hard work but it looks so cozy & inviting. You have rescued a piece of land & given it a “purpose for living”!

Good for you! I'm envious of your little shed. If I won the lottery, that is the first thing I'd buy - then put in solar powered lights and heat.

My sweetie, while a fine man and skillful in many things, cannot fix stuff. Our dishwasher was buzzing so I asked him to clean the filter, but a small part was broken. He ordered a new one and I had to replace it courtesy of utube. I was worried it might leak, but all is working well. He calls me "the master of the mechanical stuff."
