Lately we have been looking like crazy for outside toys, swings, slides, playhouses, etc. and still haven't been able to decide what's best to get. We want something our one and half year old can play with but we want it to be worth the investment and last for years. What sort of things do you have (or had) for your kids outside? What would you recommend or not recommend? Would love to hear everyone's opinions.

Deborah, did you find that the boys enjoyed it just as much as the girls? I would love to get one but my husband is afraid the boys won't care much for it.

One and a half years old is still a little young, but eventually you will want something to climb on like a swing/play set (with a fort like structure). Buys are full of energy and need a variety and safe outlet to explore. Little Tykes is great for preschoolers, but soon enough you will need something bigger. Very exciting time, enjoy every moment as it goes so quickly.

We finally decided to go with a 5 foot plastic slide and plastic play house. So far they are both a hit! The slide is bigger so he can grow with it, but he is also still able to use it. The play house has a garden area so I can teach him how to plant and grow things when he's ready!
