Question? How are you mailing so the brim doesn't get messed up?

I put a heavy interfacing in it. I think it may have been what I use for fabric postcards.
I mailed with the brim flat in a padded envelope.

I used heavy/stiff stabilizer,, so I had to 'roll' the brim...instead of laying it flat and used a small shoe box to mail it....

I gently folded mine so it may need a touch of starch and pressing. I didn't have a box.

I thought I had posted this, but alas! I hadn't yet.

Here is the super cute sun bonnet that Grace sent me, and a few goodies she wasn't supposed to add. Shhhhh! We do trade things once in a while. LOL! I love the bonnet in pink and white seersucker, with a matching sachet. Love the smelly stuff! And a pincushion with a sewing machine on it, a pattern for placemats that will use some of my already cut (and not already cut) squares, and a cute flower pin to pin on a hat or jacket or ??? Let me think.

Thank you, Grace!

Farmgirl hugs,

Yes, I could. I love the lace trim she added to the hat, also.

Yep... Seersucker bespeaks to me of years gone by.. I have always been a fan of it.
I think I did overkill with the Brim stablilzer. I could have used a not quit so stiff one, but what the heck, call me over-thinker.

and I am not one to toss things out,, I used almost the last of the sequins & seed beads from another project.... not including the 3 that I dropped on the floor...lol!

Grace -- you're going to out-fancy all of us :-)

Whatever happened to seersucker? I remember my summer nightgowns were always made of it, along with shorts and tops. It was such a cool fabric for summer.

I think your brim is about the same thickness as the one I made you, Grace.

Judith... yep, I wore seersucker "Baby Doll" P.J.s for the longest time as a girl and tweenager..... wish I still could, but at my age, i'd look pretty silly! so much so,, both the pup and kat would fall over from laughing so hard!

Marilyn, our WallyWorld has empty shelves where fabric use to be... just some pre-packaged fabrics.. they don't even have fat quarters anymore.. the whole sewing crafting section is nearly bare... I have asked,, and even the clerks won't say or don't know why!
I will probably have to go on-line to buy my fabrics from here on out.. uughh! Half the fun is looking at and touching the different fabrics...

OK.. truth time..
I wore my bonnet out in the garden this morning.. and ,, wellll... I sort of felt like a plow horse with blinders on!!! lol!
BUTTT!!!!
on the plus side, the bonnet shaded my eyes and face from the strong morning light!!! so I suspect it will be my morning garden hat...
Between that and my garden apron... I connected with my inner "Laura Ingles Wilder"...

or not!!!! lol!

You are a hoot!
I'm planning to see if I can get into our WalMart store, and look around and shop a bit.
I watched a video today. Then I ran it over with no sound while I read the comments. Some one commented that we could see shortages again in Sept. Seems like they said it would be due to supply lines from China being cut. So walmart may have a lot of empty spaces, if that is true!???.

Kat -

I have gotten several pieces from up your way in Washington. It is called Over the Rainbow fabrics at 740 Michael Way, Camano Island, WA 98282 ph: 360-387-2366 https://overrainbow.com The owner is very helpful, and has worked with me to pre-order something I needed (that I got and haven't used yet - LOL!). Is she anywhere near you? She has a very good website and mail order business, as well as walk-in.

Another mail order for me is Fabric.com. It is a great site for fabric and they have good sales.
