lol, Grace....
I adore the button flowers Mary Jane and must make some! Ive only one jar of buttons I've collected over the years from yard sales, thrift stores, etc. Never had any family to leave me any or give me any. They were not seamstresses. But once I moved to Germany, I fell in love with buttons! I'd buy a jacket or blouse JUST to pop the buttons off!
Such a fun theme! Connie, those SHOES!!!! ( heart eyes!)
Look at all those collections! I see a lot of button art in my feeds, pretty cool I must say!

Lol Grace, I always wanted to see that building in person.

Debbie I never sold the baskets, but I sure bought my share! I love finding them in antique or thrift stores.
I have to control myself though, baskets are my weakness.

I love Longaberger baskets! I have quite a collection myself! I did sell for a short time right before the company went bankrupt. I have a fun collection of picnic baskets in addition to my Longaberger baskets and like, Wanda Sue, love to find them at thrift stores. :)

Back in the day I went to several parties! My Bushel Basket is my favorite! I made a lamp for my kitchen from this one I bought for $4.00 at an antique mall. The wiring is part of the clamp to the handle so no damage done.

Oh my, buttons and baskets! Two things I have collections of also. I have so many baskets as well. Connie love the bushel basket and I have that type of lamp for one of my baskets too!
I didn't know Longaberger was based in Ohio Debbie. I have never bought a Longaberger basket but have seen them. Most of my baskets come from the thrift stores. I have one basket that a friend made me years ago.

Diana, my grandmother and mother were both seamstresses. Mom worked at a cloth mill making ladies undergarments. She made all our clothes when we were young. So she added to the buttons my grandma had. I think my mom said this was started by her grandmother. It was in a large jar when I got them and has grown to a large tin.

Grace, I have some on cards and they definitely are new when you compare prices on them. They sure have gotten expensive.

Glad my tree is still up and I had not packed them away yet. Here are my Vintage Button card ornament swap from Darlene from a few years back. You can see the 29 cent price on the one card. What a fun swap it was!

Connie, I luv your sweet button tags!
What a cute idea for tree ornaments as well as gift tags… oh! You could make a half dozen or more and ad to ribbon to make a Banner/Bunting to display..

One of the things I luv about buttons is they make such sweet embellishments.
Many, many years ago MaryJane hosted a fun craft day-class in her shop…
She provided all the supplies, we provided the creativity…
As I mentioned in an earlier post, MaryJane had canning jars full of buttons on display and bowls full of buttons and lace on the table for us to use..
Here is a little banner-quilt that I made …
Thanks to MaryJane I learned not to be afraid to craft with vintage lace and buttons.

Grace! That is sooo beautiful!! Also what a fabulous idea to make a bunting from the cards of buttons! Back then I had ran across a bag of cards of vintage buttons for a song at a junk store, since then I've used them all!

Love the buttons on the shoes! Wow! I have my Nana'a buttons, my mama's buttons and my silly collection. I love the idea of putting some together to share.

Connie.. isn't it a giddy feeling when we find vintage buttons (or any vintage sewing goodies) for mere pennies...

Grace, I love that little quilt! I swear I need a checklist for when I think a project is done...did you add buttons, twine, lace, etc? I usually don't create without a pattern so if the pattern doesn't call for something, then I usually forget! :)

Vintage buttons for a song???? Yes, please! :)
