Anybody know how to make those long skirts from jeans where you ripped out the inner seams of the legs and put in triangular patches of fabric in to make it a skirt?

that's what I would use too...if ya want the fuller, longer...the quilting weight cotton.

Robin, I always use a softer cotton fabric, it flows so much better. And i always use a fun cotton with a scene or just a funky pattern.

I finally ripped out a pair of jeans and did patchwork panels-they're basted to the front & back. Will see how it fits in the morning & get it done before going back to work on tuesday!

Cathy,

Do you think its easier to use denim in the patched section or another softer fabric?
CathyM Posted - Sep 06 2009 : 12:18:24 AM
Robin, Not a problem at all, just have fun with it and like I said if you have any questions just email me.

I will cross my fingers, LOL

A different way to take the front seams apart...the whole seam was ripped out.

I have an older black pair I'm going to use-washed em & they're ready to shred apart. Hey-I'm thinking of using halloween fabric for the black jeans-I could do a Halloween patchwork.....

Do you sew material into the front and back? Or just the front?

Yes I play the spoons, but I do it with perfectly manicured nails...
yarnmamma Posted - Aug 13 2009 : 07:23:50 AM
yes, that's why we could use a sew-along for this thread too!
I'm looking for jeans to use...
