great looking girls George!
carol sue...glad you are feeling better.
Stephanie..I get full blown migraines...have for years...adjusted surroundings and diet and they occur much less...and I have not had any that put me out for more than 48 hours for 6 yrs. I do not believe in most drugs, not a religious thing, just my choice. I know that there are lots of things available to alter my reality, but I can beat this thing my way I am certain. I have had scripts in the past, and morphine has worked wonders for me, but is not very productive, so I deal with things one headache at a time. I had been migraine free for a couple yrs until the last few months, and then Yes, I have had several. I think my hormones are adjusting to not being constantly pregnant, and my baby still nurses, but not constantly. And my husband has been working mostly out of town this year, and my mother has been here for a month, so I am sure that is a contributing factor. So, my answer is Yes...I do get migraines, the real thing. I love them..they are so fun to have.
oh and Steph good luck on your publication!
Elizabeth...thanks for the cards...they are just amazing! keep on soaping.
BEv...hows the vesty toppy thing going? YOu know nosey me wants to see it!
have a good morning girls...jess |

Ren Faire is a 2 month weekend festival in Cincinnati ohio..they actually have renaissance fairs all over the country...elizabeth botanical bath has a booth at the ohio one, so a few of us are going to get together for a little fun on a weekend in october. We are all making period clothing to go to the fair in.

| Apronfest is an event we are all planning at Bev's farm in PA for next June. You are welcome to come. Bev has been generous in offering up her farm..we will have a soap making party, learn about treadles, have high tea with georgann, and tasty beverages...and visit with each other and learn as much as possible from each other. |

Thanks Jess for explaining, both sound like alot of fun. Apronfest would be a nice lil vacation away from the midwest.

Mima,
I agree...comfort clothing all the way!
Georgann,
Beautiful girls!!
Jess,
Glad you are feeling better..back before there were any meds for migranes my mom was hit with one at least once a month and life stopped functioning altogether for her so it was off to the emergency room..Dad was in the Air Force so he would take her to the base hospital.
When she turned 60 years old she had several "mini-strokes" and has never had another migrane...all those years the neurologist could never find anything wrong with her BUT it was before the CAT scans and MRI were real popular. She could have lives a life with much better quality had she been exposed to the meds of today.
You are one tough cookie to choose to endure a migraine. I suffered with them from age 17 to 25 and they disappeared but I wasn't as tough as you. My world stopped with the nausea, pain, movement, sound, etc...
Carol Sue,
How you feeling today? Have you talked to your nurse practitioner yet??
Kathie,
Good morning to you! where are you today..at work? playing at home?
Bonne,
Love your Flower reverse apron...love those colors
I know I saw other aprons...they are so cute!!! My stenographer is failing me again with keeping up with everything
(((((((Hugs))))))) to everyone!!!
 Stephanie

Yeah, I'm not taking hormones. What's up with it anyway? We're supposed to have a hormonal change, why are we screwing around with it. Technically, menopause is when you have been period free for 1 year. I've yet to get to that point, as I still have periods sporadically. Can't wait 'til it's all done though~no hot flashes to speak of~but I agree, the perimenopause is the tough time~mostly in your 40's and you don't know what the heck is going on~night sweats, tossing around, then tired in the am, achy joints, wanting to murder someone, short fuse in general. AHhhh...ain't it grand.......... Yes, thanks for your wonderful friendships Farmgals!!!
Bonne, I think you have described that time when I went through it to a T. I couldn't decide whether it was pregnancy at first or what. Drove me nuts. Always wondering, because I had no clue I could actually be going through perimenopause before 40. Then the fun stuff you mentioned hit, though for me it has not been all that intense. Those night sweats were pretty bad though and the mood swings. I used and still use a natural progesterone cream (aka wild yam). It does wonders for the hot flashes. At least for me. Being on the downside is pretty nice. I am waiting for the energy levels to get back up there. It does seem to be helping that I'm sleeping better. Anyway, just wanted to say it helps to know that these things are not strange. Unfortunately, we don't always know what is happening until we are almost through it.

Bev! Hey chicky! Good to hear from you! I am working on an apron!!! Slowly! My house is relatively finished! We mostly just took off that awful "cottage cheese" ceiling. We painted and I made new curtains . It looks cute! anyways...Embarrased to say...don't know even how to use a digital camerea much less post pictures! If I ever get this apron done and one of my kids happens to be around-they can do it for me!! How sad is that???Hugs and smoochys to all!!!!! Oh how cool was this ? One of my old high school buddies sent me a vintage apron in the mail today! She was at an antique store and it reminded her of me!!! How special was that! I looooove my girlfriends!!!! |
