Hey Bev,
The Chapter sounds nice. I'd like to join and hope that I can keep up with you girls...sometimes y'all move at the speed of light and I'm still sitting here...LOL Although I thoroughly enjoy the light show!!
As far as a chapter apron...why not let us choose the pattern that suits our body type and all of us use the same fabric?? It would represent our sisterhood but also reflect our individuality.
You could post a selection of fabrics on the this topic for everyone to vote for and then we can decide which to use.
One person could place an order for all of the fabric and then cut and mail out when it's received unless there's a fabric that we know all of us can get a hold of locally.
Just my ideas....
 Stephanie

| I think Elizabeth was trying to get us all that beautiful bee and clover fabric for breast cancer..I know she is still working on that one..I comes in 3 different colors...if everyone likes that one it would work well. we have our own chapter in reality here in Bloomington, can we be in 2? I do not see why not. And our chapter aprons are all different, but we each have one pocket that matches with embroidery on it. |

Hey Jess,
I guess I missed the "bee and clover" fabric...can you post it again? Wait a minute I think it's coming back to me..is it on soft colored backgrounds with oval shapes with the bee?

I don't think Mary Jane Butters would mind how many chapters were formed or how many times we crossed over within them. This is what creates the evergrowing network!

Jess, That's good....I like the blue and pink but I don't usually wear yellow unless it's a super soft color. Love it in nature though!

Elizabeth -- I love love love Lily fabric! I made a wee tote bag earlier this summer out of a little golf skirt -- it was neon pink and lime green! I pieced it with some lime green prints that I found and machine-quilted the whole thing -- it turned out fabulously and then I gave it to my cousin's daughter BEFORE I TOOK PIX of it. Aargh! Anyway, it was a big hit with that 16-year-old and I learned alot making it -- how to stretch every little bit out of fabric, how to make a great little quilted tote in 98 degree weather and lose weight doing it!, and how to do a magnetic snap.
Wish I could find more of those wee skirts! You'll have much fun working on purses with your stash.
Love the clover-bee fabric.
Love the idea of a floating chapter. I don't have a chapter near me, I don't think.
Peace out.

E...I, too, love Lily....but then I bet you already knew that!
Ok girls, I am so excited about the idea of a chapter without borders....we need a catchy name...something that represents us....I see no problem with being in two chapters.
I have given this a whole lot of thought today as I have been riding around on my little tractor...lots of solitary time at the farm is good for thinking. I have this whole image of us wild women howling at the moon thing....no really, I do see us as a sort of sisterhood....we all have so much in common and yet we are all so very different. I would like a chapter that celebrates our strengths and serves as a support for all of us. The strength we gain through our relationships should be shared.....so I see us growing.
I would like to keep it all simple, since we are all very busy with our own lives...but if you all feel this strong connection through this thread like I do, I think this idea could really work.
First order of business......Name for chapter. Put your creative thinking caps on.
Second....I will make a journal and start it on it's rounds to each of you. I will attach a list of addresses and you will just send on to the next person on the list.
So......I need your address if you are interested....if I have not already gotten your address. If there is just a little tiny piece of you that would like to join us....do so! It will not be a big commitment, but I think we will all benefit from the feeling of sisterhood.
You all are such amazing women and it would be loads of fun to share some of what makes us each unique with each other. I have a bunch of ideas and welcome any other ideas that you might have to make this a great experience.
Third item of business.....chapter apron. I like the idea of us all using the same fabric, but making our own style according to what we feel comfortable in. So, if you have a suggested fabric.....let us know and we will vote. If you have a fabric hardship let me know and I will help you out!!
MaryJanes Chapter newsletter is suggesting that chapter members have denim jackets. She is making a Farmgirl patch to sew on the jackets. We could design our own patch and I would have them made for us. Then there will also be patches available for meeting certain requirements.....reminds me of the girlscouts, but still, could be fun if all are interested.
Big advantage.....no meetings, except thru the mail and on line. So this should not be much of a time commitment.
OMG I am RAMBLING!!!!Sorry.
I will crystalize my thoughts and ideas this weekend and send you all an e-mail on the subject. I am so excited by your enthusiasm! There is a reason we are all drawn to this thread....the aprons are the bait, but there is something much bigger than that that keeps us coming back.....Let's make it grow!!!!!!

Ok, I get the award for the longest post.....so sorry.
Sharon, we have a saying around our house....no good ever happens after midnight! I don't think you are being too harsh. Girls do make guys stupid, for sure. They just seem to stop thinking with their "big" heads. I feel for you....that waiting, not knowing if they are alright or not, is torture!!

Bev and Everyone,
My ideas...
The Chapter Name: "Bee Haven Maven's"
The "Bee" representing the Sisterhood working together.
"Haven" is the Retreat, Shelter, Sanctuary, etc. for the Sisterhood.
"Maven's" represents us all as individually having special knowledge and experiences to offer and share.
The Chapter Aprons & Fabric: Everyone use the pattern style of their liking and use the Robert Kaufman "Bee Clover" fabric.
We can vote on either pink or blue background for the fabric since yellow doesn't look so hot on some skin complexions.
I like the idea of creating our own patch and also creating other patches according to other areas of involvement or accomplishments. BUT I like the idea of attaching mine to a wool shawl or stole or poncho...not much on denim jackets.
Love the Journal idea and everything about this...It just kind of makes sense to me that we are "Bee Haven Maven's" when you think about what those words represent...
Okie doke....that's my thoughts for the next few minutes anyway...I'm excited too
MustangSuzie, This is open to anyone..it's across the states so to speak.
 Stephanie

I like the wolf names! LOL what about the apronettes ? I like a word or name with apron in it. Aprons are what got us together.

"No Borders".....that is our motto.....it stands for so much. Not just the borders between states, but also the borders that we build in our minds. No borders....
Thanks Stephanie for your brainstorming and ideas...I like them.....we need to hear from everyone....ideas, please.
Oh, you cannot imagine the speed at which my thoughts are crystallizing today...I have spent the day in thought and I have so many ideas coming together...ideas about the strength of sisterhood....ideas about how so many of us have lived our lives within the borders of our minds, or the "borders" of behavior that society constructs, etc, etc, etc. This will be a sisterhood without borders...no limits....a safe haven for each and everyone. Women posess the creativity in this world. From our wombs thru our spirits we are the creative wellspring that brings beauty and quality to our world. I want us to celebrate that sacred feminine creativity!! OWWWWWOOOOOOOO.(ok, that was me howling at the moon)

How about a patch with a wolf howling at the moon in an apron? She wolves in aprons.....hmmmm...the wild, yet domestic...opposites all in the same.....
Keep offering ideas, we are on a roll..... I'll keep track of the ideas.

She wolves in Aprons! Perfect to me! Also as far as the fabric...I don't like yellow but pink or blue are nice. I'd like my own style of apron also with same fabric for all of us. She wolf Linda!

Hey Stephanie... I think your ideas are great ones(and you tied it all up so nicely with that fabric), but I am uncomfortable with the group carrying my name.....I would love for it to be a name that we can all identify with equally. I love the ideals that you expressed however. I am all for safe havens and working in cooperation like a colony of bees....I just really want everyone to feel an attachment to our chapter name....unless of course you all feel the same, in which case I will go with whatever the group wants. I am feeling an attraction towards the she-wolf idea.......I like the feel....the female who can be tender and nurturing and yet on the other hand never completely tamed.......OWOOOOOOO!
