I've found that buying fabric online (like Ebay) isn't as much fun as
the hunt of finding it locally. That's part of my thrill~shopping in
other towns, thrift stores etc. , for some reason is more fun than buying
online for me. I love to LOOK online, but I love to FIND & HANDLE in person.

OOOOOoo I love the style that MJ wore on the mag cover and that E just sewed!!

Jess, I'll start a box of yarn that I'm willing to part with, and just let you know
when it's almost full so that I can keep your sister supplied~since you reap benefits
from it too! If Ellen is cool to pay shipping, I'm cool to send it. ;)

E had posted that Checkers.com site....I don't have a tax ID number although I guess I had better do that. I need some hints about that kind of stuff if any of you would be so kind as to e-mail me how, etc.

I don't think I would spend $1000 a year, but wow, if we bought together and split the fabric.....maybe that would be a big savings.

I have bought on line....it is great fun to get it in the mail....it seems that the stores are hit of miss, so if I am looking for a particular type, then on line gets me what I want, exactly.

My latest (reversible one) apron I used fabrics that I got from
this Ebay seller. http://stores.ebay.com/J-AND-S-BARGAINS
I've gotten several bolts of fabric from "J & S"
(in Ohio, E!)in the past, and been very pleased with them. Only downside is
you get tired of a whole darn bolt by the time you reach the end! I'd gotten the
fabric almost 2 years ago and I'm still plugging on it.

WOW! You girls move too fast for me!
I have been looking for an apron that looks like the one Sarah-on Sarah Plain & Tall wore.
It is really plain but sort of fitted at the top and large pockets on the sides.
Does any body have a pattern idea- I'm not a whiz like ya"ll I need a pattern and good directions.
Please email me if you have any pattern #'s- I might miss a post if it's only on here.
I can't seem to stay caught up with the thread!!!
Happy sewing!
Autumn

You GO Carol Sue- You posted the picture!!!!

Naomi, is this your serger sewing? Are you taking classes or self-teaching? I haven't gone back to try to find these answers in the 104 preceding pages of this thread, but inquiring minds want to know! :)

Kathy, I'm taking lessons(just normal sewing machine, not serger) from one of my dads former co-workers, she has been sewing for like 45 years...and has done everything from dance costumes to her wedding dresses...shes pretty much what you could call a master seamstress....so when she says something you've made looks nice....you know its good....haha
Bonne...um...."besprise"....is that a typo...or some joke I missed? haha...and yes..you will as soon as it reaches the post office...

Their fabrics are very tempting. I am trying to refrain from buying any more. Dh told me a while back that I had plenty. I really could open up a small fabric store with all my bolts of fabric. I made this apron for my neighbor last year. I really like the pattern and the fabric and am thinking of making one for myself.

Cute on both accounts Sharon & Jess!

Sharon, No need to open up a fabric shop, just post what you want to sell
right on here and I'll bet you'd have plenty of takers! LOL

Tina Michelle- She had an old apron (half style) that had a unique bottom. It is gathered in the center only. I couldn't figure it out, but found a pattern on Ebay that had the same center gathering.

Bonnie-lol My dh had shelves built for me. The shelves are like what they have at Jo-Anns, but there are twice as high as in the store. The shelves are on wheels and there are six compartments on one side and six compartments on the other side. (Dh had 3 of these built) Give a clue as to how many? Lots and Lots-lol When dh and my son counted how many bolts of fabric I have, they were dumbfounded. When my mil was visiting her seamstress friend oohed and awed over the fabrics. I have fun finding the fabrics.

lol. I know that it is hard to believe, but I use the fabric. 12-15 yds. is a lot of fabric, but it still takes me time to thin out a bolt. I thought that I was almost out of this fabric, but fortunately I found some more while organizing. It is one of my favorites and could never give up. It is hard to see the neat print on this one clearly.
