Thank you Aunt G and Jess for the info!! I'll have pictures soon!

And Jess, I am just about as much in love with the cabinet as the treadle machine itself!!!! Ahhhh!

Jess,

Artful Aprons, Collage Aprons, whatever you wish to call them...are NEVER too eclectic honey child! That's what makes them so awesome. Your mind's eye and what it sees is all that counts.

Would love to see a picture of yours in progress

The reason you can't find anything over at my site is because there ain't nothing...LOL No sewing anyway!! The site is another story..want to do some redesign over there and I'm thinking of starting my blog at typepad or one of the others.

Georgann,

Hang in there honey..I know you will be busy all weekend with the sales that are going on. I know after you get the girls in school you can grab a little more time in the studio Don't you wish you could multipy yourself by at least 5?? Man, I do....I could get everything finished and be rolling full steam just like Jess!!!! She's got to have a Battery Pack surgically implanted...still waiting on that Iced Mocha recipe..hint hint

Carol Sue,

Make that doc give you some super duper pain pills!! With all the drugs we have there is no need for anyone to live with pain...of course, you may not get anything done that day but hey...you can't do everything at once anyway!

Linda,
Yoo Who!!! Where are you? Just checking on you...bet you have plans over the holiday??

I know we have some new members postiing on this topic and I'm ashamed to say I've not caught your names..Anyway, nice to meet y'all and hope you visit often!

Talk to ya later, Stephanie

Georgann, patterns...haven't received any.....maybe they decided to wander off on their own! LOL
Naomi~RAOK!!!! She sent me a cute long half apron to harvest my garden goodies! Thanks sweetie
Jess, I believe this is a "Lotus" ? Would seem so. I wish the old men around here knew about sewing machines~they know more about firearms. LOL This is the one I wrangled from my MIL. My FIL bought it at an auction for $7 after they were married.

Yes, we just picked it up at my in-laws this afternoon. Stupidly decided to drive up
to their house right after the CU Buffaloes vs CSU Rams college football game (heated rivals)
and the highway was clogged up with fans from the game. Worth the ride through traffic though, IMO!! If I had a spare couple hundred bucks, I'd go back to the antique mall and buy the 2 singers I saw there ($95 and $75) , then I'd be up to 4 treadles and be catching up to Jess!!!
Someday, they may finally commit us to the asylum for the Treadling Insane.

Yes, my MIL actually sewed on it all the time. She finally admitted that
since she hadn't sewn for years that she probably wouldn't be doing
any more, so I finally got it!! She had another one that was her MIL's (hubby's grandma)
that she gave away (evidently she didn't get along with her MIL)
I definitely have no room~no basement here and less than 1,000sqft of house, less in winter 'cause the enclosed front porch isn't heated~LOL

I'm pinning some more Spiders on to this collage apron right now and am gonna post a "in progress" picture of what I'm doing..hopefully in the next couple of hours...

OK, Jess, pull out the one you've been working on and post it for me to see...OK, I can hear you...I'll post mine first..then you have to post yours!

Jess,

RITFLOL LMAO!!! My Thomas thinks somethings wrong when I walk out with NOTHING somedays or a book..He always wants to know if I'm OK I want to see the "Bewitched" fabric. I found a piece last night from Alexander Henry from 1995 called "Bewitched" but I think it's totally different from the one you just got.

Hey Carol Sue, how about taking a picture of that fabric and posting it when you feel well enough to mess with it.

Bonne,

Beautiful Machine..so glad you were able to get it!! It would have sat there so lonely otherwise

Georgann,

Want to see that chocolate fabric!

I let someone else have the Gingerbread one on Ebay. There are 2 machines still at our Antique Mall that are, to me, nice looking. $75 and $95. If I just have to have another, I may go and snag another (I'm crazy now) . Think I'll just keep watching Craig's List~there are bound to be listings on there from time to time as well. I need to go to the Singer site and find out just what it is I need to do about entering my serial no. This is my very first Singer!!
Say, Jess, can you scan your manual and save the pics on your computer and just send them that way? Rather than photocopy. It would be a way of saving your manual via computer as well. If not, no biggie. I imagine I can find some copied manuals somewhere in cyberspace. Here's one site I found http://sewingmachine221sale.bizland.com/store/page35.html
If anyone snags a Minnesota machine (made by Sears) here's the website for the manual for the "A" model ~ similar to the other lettered models they made (mine's a D)

It's Time for Show & Tell....In Progress

Here is a full view. Used batik for the body, spiderweb fab for the flounce (all those blips of color on the flounce are individual Spiders that I cut out of other fabric and then covered them with a double layer of black tulle to diffuse the color.

Closeup of the pocket...used Rayon Seam tape, vintage MOP buttons and Spider cutouts with the tulle layered over them. Attached everything with the green Embroidery floss.

Here's the Witch..Appliqued down with black Rayon Seam tape using the embroidery floss, outlined the witch with a metallic gel pen, you can't see that the stars are pearlescent, appliques of the moon, bat and cats with the overlayer of black tulle.

Another closeup of the pocket and witch.

Now I'm off to stitch all those Spiders in place..Good therapy for the obviously crazy insomniac woman of the night

My work in progress...I cant show....not until the 18th or so(even though it'll be finished much sooner....*pout*..its for moms birthday...and she reads this thread....but thats why I havent made any cool aprons like everyone else..I've been slaving away over moms present....:P
hopefully she'll like it, and it'll turn out like I plan...I've never made one of these before...so....yeah...haha....and my baby has been sooo good...sewing through layers and layers of fabric...about 6 on average...no tension problems, no threading issues...HURRAY!
