Naomi, Be sure to post a picture of it after your mom's birthday so we can see it. OK, off to sew on more spiders...

MOM!!!!!!!! seee...I told you ladies she would read this thread!!! would you believe that she was so desperate for hints and clues to what I am making her, that she actually, made me stand in the kitchen, and she checked my hair, and my clothes to see if I had any threads on me...is that just sad or what!?

Pant, Pant, Pant, heart racing, sweating......I have been reading like a maniac for what seems like hours, girls. Off line for 2 days and you all left me in the dust. Well, hubby got a new computer into the farm with a working modem....so I am on line again!

E....question for you....I got a message from some vendor on Etsy that said I cannot sell any apron that I use a pattern for (like Vogue, McCalls) Know anything about that? I only have that one apron that would fall into that category....the one with all the bias taped sections....and I will gladly remove from my Etsy if that is true. ?????

Stephanie.....that is the cutest Halloween apron I have EVER seen. I love it. You are very creative.

Who posted that their Ben Franklin has the Bewitched pin up fabric? I would gladly buy or barter for a yard of that (or 2) Let me know.

I have the funniest story for all of you...... well, it seems that our little Chip (our stud fainting goat) is coming into manhood. He tried to mount our little O'Malley the other day and as soon as he got up behind her, he fainted.....not such a good start, huh? We are counting on him impregnating 3 of our girls in October for Spring babies....but he better get practicing, cause at this rate....... LOL They are hysterical.

Jess....what was your goat question??

Kathie....I did not know about your son....sorry he is going through this. Sending warm, healing vibes your way.

Bonnie.....are you getting all those sewing bugs worked out? Finish an apron yet????? You'll be churning them out like Jess in no time.....little secret....try to steal those fairies from her...they used to be mine, but they jumped ship...she offered them better benefits....all the coffee they can drink! My Mojitos just didn't cut it for them.

What a gorgeous weekend at the farm. OMG it has been the most perfect weather...not hot, just clear and beautiful. Yesterdays's company was here most of morning, all of afternoon. Today's company arrives before 8AM as the guys are golfing and the gals are horseback riding.....will stay all day....so I will check in with you all later.

I am having withdrawal from sewing........ oh, yea....spent 4 hours tractor mowing on Friday....what fun. Only got hung up once on a big root in the pasture....must have looked like one stupid woman! I eventually got myself unstuck...without having to find help!!

Sorry to go on and on like this, but I have missed you all......

Stephanie,
Super cool apron!! I love it, I mean really love it!! Great job.

Denise...........I'm so glad you like your box of goodies.

Nay...........I know your Mom is going to love your gift. You put such wonderful love into everything you make. Hmmmm six layers? Sounds really cool whatever it is. Is her birthday on the eighteenth? My daughter's is too.

Bev............Oooo, I think there is something in the patterns that say cannot be sold, for personal use only. But I've never thought about it before. Yikes!! Sounds like you were having fun tractoring, I am so impressed by you girl!!!

Bonne............Your Singer is beautiful. It looks like the way my sister describes mine that she has for me in Illinois!! Three drawers on each side with the little pull out in the middle. Lots of ornate gold decals

Well it is early and I need some coffee and then off to finish a wee bit of sewing, then to work at noon today. Nay, I'm going to get that Chocolate swirl fabric today. I want to make something for myself out of it! Mmmmmmm.............

hhhhhhmmmmmmm...cannot sell things made from a pattern...what good is that...i went through several etsies...and well...i am one of those people who studies the patterns and pattern books...a heap ton of those sewing things all over etsy are very very very remniscent(sp?) of many patterns I have seen !...No one is coming up with something that has not been done, soooooooooooooooooo...Bev...change something...just something and girl it is your pattern!!! That is so ridiculous...people cannot possibly expect to take credit for something we made..if the pattern is out for us to view...c'mon it is certainly fair game! Here I am always siding with trouble, but good gravy Bev you made the darn thing and that is 1/2 the art of it. I have seen all kinds of things for sale on etsy that arent 100% that artists art! Grief!

Isn't there something about selling things made with "licensed" fabrics as well.

Jess, I'm printing out the PDF file to use while examining my machine. So, no, I don't have
photographic memory~ROFL!

Another thing I found interesting was Singer's Serial #'s~http://www.singerco.com/support/serial_numbers.html
found out the exact day my machine was made. Can have a Birthday party! LOL Thanks Jessica!!

Hi everyone! I love reading all messages....but it takes time and I think this is my new hobby. I use more time reading than actually sewing....
Steph: I love the apron...wow! Sure is a challenge for me to do something special...what fun!!
Also: all of the new treadles are so pretty....makes me want one...hmmm
I won't get one unless I accidentally come accross one somewhere and then I'd think about you gals...they sew to slow for me to want to use one unless I really need the leg excercise! LOL

Been trying to convince boyfriend to wear an apron...even if it is "manly, macho" like John Deere, etc. He won't! So I will have to make one for someone else or to barter!
Still waiting for my sick machine to get well while at the Dr. only a few more days, in the meantime I am doing what hand work I can do.

I finally found out what RAOK is! I thought that you were all doing private swaps! What ya'll do is so much better!
luv to all of you, Linda

Bev. First look at the pattern for copyright issues. If it says for home or personal use only, then there isn't a problem. Also, if you make changes, then I would think that it wouldn't matter, but I am not a expert on this at all. I think that it is sad for the person to e-mail you like that. I was looking on Etsy, and there are a lot of people selling aprons that are made from patterns. I remember that I bought a pattern that specifically said that I couldn't sell any aprons using the pattern.

Well, I ended up taking that little Apron off my site...as the e-mail caused me much angst. My hubby says I worry too much....always trying to please everyone....yada yada yada....but the way I see it......IS.....if I end up in prison for copyright theft....well, then I won't be able to talk with you guys and that would be UNBEARABLE!!!!!!!!!!!

Jess.....are we going to OHIO???? Am I picking up a machine in Reading for you?????

Kathie....are you working today girlie???

I am taking a bit of a break from the company. Their daughter is cheerleading in a football game this afternoon and then they are returning to our farm for the rest of the day. So.....a break to check in with you guys and then off to get ready for dinner.

What a gorgeous day it is here. Well, no sewing here, but I am going to go make some YO YO's.

I think Ebay has issues about using licensed fabrics in items to be sold~probably the same with
patterns. You just never know until someone emails you about something. Don't take it personally~look at it as a "learning experience". It really does happen all the time when selling online.(I've had emails happen a couple times when Ebay selling where I went, "really, I had no idea!!") Seems some people are just trolling looking to site people on "issues". pffsstt!!!!
