Jess:yeah, great weekend except for this mornings...surprise...ugh(I was certainly fighting the gag reflex)...I'm feeling sorry for Daffy...poor baby has been wandering around the yard, quacking as loud as he can(he doesnt exactly quack though...), looking for her, then he'll stop for a bit, just kinda stand there and fall asleep...poor baby...we can definetely tell he is sad...aww... Bev: love the pics, especialy the bugs...hehe....

OK, gals, been reading the pages and pages and pages of postings here! And finally sewed up a new apron, a MaryJane's Harvest Apron:

What do you think?? I may just sew up another apron tonight . . . or start a purse . . . can't decide.

Bev -- Yes, the front is one big pocket. It's such an easy pattern! --in MaryJane's Ideabook. Easy to cut out (especially with rotary cutter & mat) and easy to sew. Thanks for the kind words.

Ok back, but no pictures today. Next weekend ...
Jess, I have to go to the bank and deposit a bunch of checks, get some copies and I will have a check off to you for $30, that should cover it if it is on sale, and not.
Bev, I still have to mail your, it I have to get that one weighed.
And I think that you both should sew up a dress. Italian is easy.... it is the french that your nipples show and the english that the costume weighs 50lbs. Italian .... think the movie Everafter. If I can make one in a day and sew the trim on the next day by hand, you can too. But I can help you out with the construction... typically much easier to do it authentically than one of those patterns. The real deal for the top, one piece from one piece back.... Mc calls... 3 front, 3 back.

countrynmore, thanks I will have to fix that one my Etsy. Paypal charges crazy amounts.... so I have to email everyone anyways and fix it, but most of the peeps who buy off of it are regular customers who found my soap cheap. My usual bars are smaller and $8 each. My website is set up for reorders, that is why there is a price break and you can only buy 3 each.
Katie Ell... Love the apron... Love the fabric! if you dont mind, what does it say on the edge?

Katie~love that vintage fabric!
I just picked 2 buckets of my concord grapes and wore my "Naomi vintage pillowcase special harvest apron" ~now it's plenty dirty so in the wash it goes. Shows I worked today! LOL
E~it makes so much more sense to hold Ren Fairs in the fall. Ours is in June-July and it's so durn hot. I've got this deep red velvet number that I've never worn because I'd faint from overheating! The wenches cotton peasant tops and skirts are about all a gal can feel comfortable in. You MUST post pics of your garb!! (when you get a chance~know you're stretched to the max with everything. ;) )

Jess... What kind? I can cut you a pattern and then fitting it is just a formula. Pretty easy for the "Authentic SCA" stuff. Remember they sewed everything by hand. Oh and if you want to stay as cool as possible, Linen is the coolest, and second wool. No kidding, since both will breath well. Cotton is also a good choice.... and anything unnatural is Hot Hot Hot.
This is one of my favorite places to read her dress diary. http://www.festiveattyre.com/gallery/index.html This girl is amazing. She covers making a dress from start to finish, including dying the fabric with bugs to ge the right color.
I am going to make the 1515 Florentine gown, the other one in the painting.... No bugs.... I bought the fabric already the right color.
