Linda.....I was hoping you'd like that one. That was one of my favorite vintage pieces. It is probably from the 80's and still really strong. So glad you liked it!!! You said that was your favorite color...I knew I had it in my stash, just took me a while to put my hands on it. I'd love to see photos!!

E........great site and you're right they'd make great greeting cares.

Stephanie....I'd love to have the address of the source for the seam tape!!

Jess..............hang to those. I'd tell my mother that you are doing it to help the family and then stamp your feet, clap your hands and blow the bad air away!! G

Georgann, Here's a link for buying 10 yards pieces of the rayon seam binding that have been overdyed already. This is a real good price that she has and lots of colorways available..Still looking for the site with it by the roll..at a better price than this lady has.

Hey Sharon, Mind sharing the instructions on the skirt portion of this apron?? I don't have any like this but there are several vintage ones that use this technique...Maybe scan the instruction sheet for me to see

Elizabeth, I am sure that there is, but at the time, I had not seen anything like it anywhere else.

Here ya go Georgann,

It is the Hug Snug brand and that's the best around in my opinion.

This is an Ebay dealer that also has a website. This is a good price per 100 yards..If you buy multiples you'd come out best paying a flat $8.95 shipping for a bunch of rolls to fit into.

http://stores.ebay.com/ZIPPERSTOP_Ribbon-Hug-Snug-Satin_W0QQcolZ2QQdirZQ2d1QQfsubZ9QQftidZ2QQtZkm

I'm still looking..it may be out there cheaper than this but this is a real good price.

I wound up with mine from an estate sale find. A box of about 25 spools all different colors for $80..of course that was several years ago and they are probably 25+ years old too.

Got so carried away with the front of my apron that I forgot to show the back side...This is a piece of vintage paisley that is an acetate that was so popular back in the 60-70's...very silky feeling.

Georgann,

More use of the overdyed rayon seam tape. I can't live without this stuff..LOL
