Aunt George, yes I am planning to come. Roundtrip on train is only 154, I think I might be able to manage that. Cheapest air flight was 538. Way out of budget for me.
Bonne, yeah didn't know you were planning to come too.....
E- Yep, that is the fabric that is in the fuzzy apron pic. Tok the pattern kinda off dd one she got at an estate sale. Don't have it right yet, but not bad for my first attempt.

Aunt G- falling alseep at the keyboard ohhhh girl....

Enjoying life.

Looks like someone took their treadle obsession as far as my vintage fabric obsession. Truly "outsider art"!! Love it

When you know you will will be keeping a climate controlled storage room for your fabric stash so you can locate a house "not based on fabric storage" LOL you know you are in overload..and that's exactly where I am and still buying

This is my logic so I can find that small "cottage" that I want and not have the fabric hender my options...unless...I can find a small cottage with a basement..woohoo Watchout!

I'm thinking "attic". Basements always make fabrics musty even if in bags, and attics are drier.

Georgann, love the finished dress!!!

Unfortunately, probably no Apronfest for me~Summer is my busy petsitting season and I've no one to cover for me. I haven't been back to Minnesota to see relatives for 21 yrs! LOL

while I slept you girls gabbed and gabbed! Thanks for the compliments...aprreciate it! Yes, I fended off the husband...sent him to the bars with my sis' husband! Don't woory...I will be at apronfest and hopefully able to enjoy the yummy beverages! However...can only wear that apron when he is outta town! whew!!

Oh Steph...I just turned 30 in april!

He wanted 12 kids and I wanted none...funny how like works out...I think 7 is a good compromise! We have a blast around here!

You know Steph..we bought an old farmhouse that had an old barn, now the barn is an office, studio, and rec room with septic and dry kitchen! Look for something like that...then you can walk out and carress your fabric any time you want!

Georgann...love that new dress of yours!!! It is so remarkable!

Bonne...the fence..hmmm.....it is killing me! I think it could be really cool..primary is a bit bold...but those machines and pieces..it is tearing my heart out!

Carol Sue.......I have a $ idea for you, not sure how it will work out...I will call you.

Bonne..are you coming now?...let me know!

WOW! I can see that you have a lively household. My dh only wanted one child, but I wanted at least two. I won! My boys are so different both in personality and looks. The oldest son looks like me, and the youngest son looks like his dad.

How do you manage? I mean raising our two boys was challenging, since they are complete opposites and there was constant bickering and fighting.

i tell you it is never quiet, nor is it dull...my first 2 are girls...night and day...i wish they did not have to share a room! They are sooooooooo different...then my 2 boys are partners in everything and best buds...they are hilarious, inseparable...and hell on wheels-honestly..and my twins are funny little girls that never wear clothes and just play with each other and torment their older sisters..and the baby everyone dotes on! It is crazy here all the time, and never clean...each day one room is clean, but every room gets cleaned, only stays that way for a second...my husband just sneaks in and out when he can squeeze into some small space taht is clean. It is really like a 9 ring circus around here...but I would not have it any other way...but I am considering getting a person to come in a nd help me with general cleaning...I cannot keep up!

Jess -- Oh, I can relate! Not as the mommy (we just have one son); but as the 'middle' of 6 kids! My mom had 6 kids, age 6 and under, including a set of twin boys. I'm the youngest girl of three. And our house was a wonderful circus all the time -- and also a magnet for our nearby farm cousins, too, so there were always lots and lots of kids underfoot. And it was so much fun! I have such fond memories, and I know you're making great memories for your kiddos, too. (And enjoy your sperminator -- with protection, if you can! Hope you don't mind me being so personal, as I don't really know you yet. :)

Jessie, as a teenager, I lived with my dad and step-mother. There 4 of us, a step-brother, a step-sister, and their grandmother. There is a saying that a messy house is a sign of creativeness. The main thing is that your kids are happy. It is also good that they learn to clean.

As for what I am doing today. I finished a cobbler apron, and put the two new aprons up on my website. There is an e-waste & toxic waste drop-off today at a local location, so dh is gathering items to get rid of. He told me that he really doesn't need all these things anymore. He could open up a hardware store, while I could open up a fabric store. lol

Hey Jess,

Oooh, I came close to knowing your age! Thirty was a good birthday for me...What day in April? My DIL is the 20th and my Anniversary is the 18th.

Actually, we are telling Realtors to keep an eye out for "Barns, General Stores and the old timey wood frame Churches that are under 3000 sq feet. We really want ONE big open room and the bed can be partitioned off or a seperate bedroom..doesn't really matter to us. Then we can finish it off to reflect its personality and ours.

I want to try using the Corrugated Tin (roof) sheets on the walls and or ceilings and I want concrete countertops and floors would be fine since I like rugs instead of carpeting. The concrete can be colored so many pretty colors and so you get your foundation and flooring in one!! We can save a ton of money having a ONE room house but it's almost impossible to find in new readybuilt unless it's a mountain cabin with 500 sq ft. which is a bit too small. But to built it you gotta buy the land and land can cost as much as the house and we don't want that either. We keep our mortgage payments very reasonable.

You are right..if I can find the barn, etc. I can keep all the fabric right there with me!

Have fun cleaning..yuck..

Stephanie

yuck is right!... and it looks like your husband, Hilter, and myself share the same birthday! Remember, it is more tricky to get a mortgage for unusual buildings. But if you run into trouble with that, send me an email...my husband is VERY good at tricky situations!

If I ever move from this house and have a flooring choice, I want concrete floors with a floor drain in the center, and a retractable hose in the wall of each room!
