Hi Ladies!
We really need to wrap this up. I have two sets of pillowcases at my house that need forwarded on, but I am reluctant to forward them as I have not heard from their partners. Please email me by Wednesday and tell me if you sent your pillowcases to your partner or not (or if you recieved them!). If you haven't sent them, that is fine- we just need to know so people can use them as presents or quit checking the mail. I also can let the two that forwarded theirs to me be partners.
Thanks Alee
UPDATE #2
I was chatting with some other farmgirls yesterday and realized since we are doing just groups with two people, then you could just send your pillowcases directly to your swap partner. If that is what you would like to do, PLEASE email me and let me know when you send it and a confirmation/tracking number. That way if something gets lost we will know.
However, if you would prefer to leave all that sorts of stuff up to me, please feel free to just mail it to me.
I want to make sure everyone gets their pillowcases so I think tracking is very important and even insurance. I think the monetary value would be at least $100 for hand embroidered pillowcases due to the value of the time put into them.
Oh yes! When you get your pillowcases, please post pictures!
Thanks ladies!
UPDATE:
Hi Ladies!
Please go to page 6 to see the groups. We have had some people drop which is fine, so instead of doing 2 sets of pillowcases, we are just going to do one set. So send me your one set (two pillowcases) and you will get a set back. I will do another one that will be due in late January or early February so we will have some time off around the holidays but will get something fun in the dead of winter :D
Thanks so much! You all have been fabulous and I can't wait to see what you all created!
And if you had to drop out of this swap- That's okay too! We all understand that life happens and it doesn't always workout to do a swap. So hopefully you will be able to participate some other time!
Hi Ladies!
I was just talking with my mom and I had a brainstorm!
How about doing an embroidered/decorated pillow case swap!
We can do a deadline of late October since I know there are a lot of swaps going on right now.
So here are some ideas for ground rules- Let me know what you think! 1. You have to do 2 pillow cases so everyone will have a matching set. If everyone has more pillows on their bed (I have 4) we can up the number.
2. The pillow case has to be decorated in some way. I think embroidered pillow cases are beautiful, but you could tat/crochet lace onto the edge or tie dye or cut work...the sky is the limit!
3. We could either do partners or we could do small groups, like groups of 4-5. I think doing small groups would be fun so we could get a few different sets of hand decorated pillowcases.
4. The pillow cases should be standard king/queen size unless specifically requested otherwise.
I can be the swap mamma for this if anyone is interested!
Hugs!

Alee As long as you aren't going to do this right away it sounds like fun. I collect vintage linens and love hand embroidered pillowcases. Hugs, Kathy |

Okay! Lets do a late October Deadline. That way if someone gets done early, they can send it on it! But then if someone is busy they have a few months!

Alee, I think that's a great idea for a swap and I'd love to participate if and only if there aren't too many people in each group. I think 6 pillowcases total (3 people) would be my max. By October I'll probably be trying to catch up on all those aprons I plan to give away as Christmas gifts and should really be working on now.

So lets set up a minimum of 2 pillow cases for each person. If I keep the groups to 3 people, then you will be making a total of 4 pillow cases. 2 sets to go out and you will get 2 back.

I think the pillow cases should be at least king/Queen sized, but let me know if your pillows are smaller than that and I can let your swap partners know.

I think most of the pillowcases that you buy, prestamped for embroidery are standard size aren't they? |

Thanks for the information Elizabeth!
Lets just go with Standard. I think it will fit most pillows and if it is a little too small, well you can always put a plain white one on your pillow before the fancy one, right! That way you won't see the pillow form underneath.
