Thanks Stephanie and Naomi. I told people that my neighbors wouldn't do that. I don't know how much they were taking, but I remember when I went to my mom's house, the neighbor had two large drinking water bottles in front of their house. At least the water dept. took a meter reading. I would love to see the neighbor's face when they go to get water and the well is dry so to speak. The neighbor on the other side said, that he would think that turning the water off at the street wouldn't deter them, and the neighbors would probably find a way to turn the water back on. Today, before going to the Sheriff station, I saw a man walking with a large wrench, so I pulled over. The man walked down my mom's street. The woman was standing outside their house. Time will tell, because if the meter reading is different, there is no doubt as to where the water is going.

Man....cosmic shift....that just might be the case. We have all had our share of problems this year.... parents, living situations, etc.

Sorry about your upheaval, Steph... hope it ends up that you do not have to move again!! Positive thoughts!!!

Sharon....wow, seems a black cloud has settled over your Mom's life.....

Has anyone, besides Nay (great apron Nay, btw) sewn anything (besides mini aprons) lately??? I haven't made an apron since early in December!

Hey Jess, anything new with your Dad??

Sorry about your new pad Steph. Research your landlords going forward, it will help you..of course you prob already know that.

Sharon...neighbors are sly...never trust em.

Bev...Dad has and angiogram on 2/7, his girlfriend is finally going down there to be with him through this, and he may have actually included his children in his will now..interesting.

Probably wont be on much today..I am in a very grumpy mood. I have been takin care of sickies for days..it was my husband yesterday. I need a me day but there is no time between now and when I leave for my Dads surgery.

I am sewing...quilts for the school fundraiser. They are cute. My husband still has my camera, so pics will come someday.

He and the older 2 girls are off to the Father Daughter Dance this evening. They will have so much fun. My 10 year old is wearing a pants suit this year instead of a cute dress..wahh! I am surprised she has worn a dress for the last 3 yrs anyway!

Have a great day today girls, Im gonna go put a new quilt on my bed. I got it before christmas and I am just now getting around to puttin it on my bed.

And...I am ovulating today..I am one of those people who can feel it, so I am in a fabulous mood.. Anyone wanna come over and have a cup of tea?

I know what you mean about sly. The neighbors on my block look out for each other. Most of us have been neighbors for 20 years.

Jessica, my mom is going to do a living trust (assets go in to a trust-no probate), because with wills there is the probate, and the probate costs are expensive. Maybe, the girlfriend has some positive influence on your dad.

Sharon: So sorry to hear about your problems with the neighbor. These seem like such desperate times that people are doing bizarre things now.

Jess: You TOTALLY need a "me only" day. Maybe you can grab a few hours this weekend, go into a corner and ovulate all alone. Seems like the safest thing to do. I hope all goes well with your dad too. Aren't parents awesome!!??

okay ...hey there all of you. Me only day...hmmm..there is a thought. We shall see if girlfriend has good intentions,,she seems to make him more selfish and no matter what his trouble is, she always wants all the attention.

My kids that are home are in bed. YAY! Now I just need to figure out what to do about my male axolotl. He has never been the stronger of the pair..he had a set back about a yr and 1/2 ago when he belonged to my sister. When she moved she set em up in a room she never went in and for got about them...for a while, and he has never been the same. As soon as she had realized what she did, they became my axolotls. My kids love em..Gillyweed and Faerywing. But old Gillyweed has never really recovered. I am not sure what to do...I make sure he eats enough to stay alive, but he certainly is not plump and gorgeous like Faerywing....and now he has a problem..his arm is falling off. yes I know..you say ...what? Probably most of you are going what the heck is an axolotl anyway. I have been researching for an hour now and if I were more sure of myself, I think the right answer is to amputate the arm and it will regenerate. But I would rather have a vet do it as I dont want to and what if I do it wrong? Yikes. And a vet would have anti bacterial something or other. But my vet does cats dogs and horse. It did not instill confidence when I called and said I had an axolotl that neede care and the girl just said.."YOu have a what?!!!" I am not sure how he damaged his arm anyway, the only other thing in the tank is Faerywing, and she all but totally ignores him. They have been together for 3 or 4 years, so it would surprise me if she did it..I wonder if he got hung up in a plant or something. I dont know..I only noticed today, so I cannot be sure when it happened since I have been so busy with sickies all week. I just feel bd for him..he is a neat little guy. Oh well..i will figure it out.

Anyway...who else is sewing?

Sorry that his girlfriend makes him selfish.
I had to look up axolot, because I was clueless. Oh, it is a salamander. O.K. I am smarter than I was five minutes ago, but will probably forget axolot.

I finished my minis! And I am almost done with the quilting I started this week. I have to make my mom an apron before I go to Florida, so I will do that next week. I did not get much done for the past few weeks though, so this feels pretty good.

AWWWWwwww!!! That's a cutie! My favorite style apron.

I learned about your critters today as well~never had any clients with them~
only iguanas & african frogs and mainstream fishies.
Found this:
"Juvenile axolotls can be cannibalistic towards each other, so they are best raised in separate enclosures. Adults can potentially be housed together but watch for cannibalistic tendencies. Of course, if a body part gets bitten off by a tank mate, an axolotl can regenerate it over time."

yeah i know they can be cannibalistic, but this does not look like it at all..it is so weird..adn really unlike this pair! it looks like someone tried to just chop it off with a knife or something..i am sure it will come back, but the trauma involved along the way is tremendous, and the ability for infection to occur. you would love to go read on caudata.org

Jess,

Isn't there a vet around there that deals with exotics? A vet I used to use for my goats cared for the exotics..his waiting room was always very interesting. I hope you find someone that can help Gillyweed...maybe some neosporin and a matchstick splint...I know that probably sounds stupid but I healed a baby chick that a opposum got a hold of and the leg was just hanging on by a thread. She healed over about a months time.

But then she thought she was supposed to live in my kitchen since that's where she did live during her recovery. And the other chicks hated her since she had been away from everyone for so long so she became my backporch hen She would stand at the french doors and watch me go back and forth..LOL

Gosh, Gillyweed's issue has made me think of all of the critter rescue stories from the past Let me know whats happens with him.

Stephanie: We had a hen that was attacked by a dog years ago and we took her into the kitchen and healed her there for about a month. She fell in love with my husband and would always make a sound that seemed like "Aaaaawwwwww" whenever she saw him or heard his voice later. She came over to the house any chance she got. They are so cute.

Thanks Steph. I stayed up for hours last night reading and reading. I think that as long as I can insure that no infection sets in, and I think I can do that, I think he will be alright and can eventually regenerate a new arm...may just take awhile. As for the rest of his recovery, he is pretty weak, so instead of letting him be on his own to "hunt" and catch prey, I am going ot keep him in a smaller tank, hand feed several meals a day, and treat him with a mild salt water mix. I also read about traeting with black tea, so we shall see, one step at a time...but he was much more responsive by the end of last night. I will let you all know how it goes.

I love both of your chicken stories.
