Good to see ya Sheryl-
We had hail and lots of rain today. Started off warm & humid now it's wet and cold. I'm making good way on my squares for the spring quilt block swap.
Also did a bridesmaid dress today-partially anyway. Gotta fit it to the young lady to finish. I'm not fond of seam ripping.

Blessings,
Autumn

Hey Bev,
We, hubby and myself, were out your direction today. We started out heading to Philadelphia and when we left there around noon it was starting to snow. Headed to Ephrata, probably no where near you huh? Anyway, we were picking up my birthday present from my husband. A new car. We ended up having them deliver it. What is normally a two hr drive ended up being a 3 1/2 with traffic and by the time we got home it was pretty slick on the roads. We have been getting rain but is icy in many places. Saw a few fender benders on the way back too and that is why it took us so long. I think it took about 25 minutes at one point to go 2 miles.
So I am going to be sitting at the sewing machine tomorrow as I won't be driving my gift anywhere in this messy weather.

Stephanie,
That's a very nice picture and I hear what your saying about the weight. It sure is hard to get it off after a certain age. I'm right there you with trying to lose some too. I just got a job so I'm hoping the time away from house and kitchen will help me start losing some. You know you can always get encouragement here to help you along.

Everyone seems to be slipping and sliding on the roads or staying snuggly at home.

Denise, that's a nice birthday present! I hate you had such a long trip back home though..that's exhausting...Christmas before last I got a new car from my Thomas.. One Saturday he told me we had to take a ride to go look at something...he later told me he ordered it online from one of the dealerships. LOL I just about fainted when he pulled into the Chrysler dealership and showed it to me! The little blue PT Cruiser was sitting there waiting for me to drive her home.

Denise,

I post over in the Kitchen area about my 75% raw/25% cooked diet...Many inches have vanished in a little over 4 months and I really like what I eat now so I'm not in the frame of mind that I'm dieting..I finally made the lifestyle change after my gut went crazy last fall. Amazing what the spirit of fear can make you do..LOL

Bev, take pictures of your snow and ice. I love looking at the pictures since we never get much around here. Definitely a good day to stay in!

Bonne I just spied your scrap quilt (it's 1:50 a.am.I don't sleep well): and what a treat! My heart belongs to scrap quilts. I like to make them when I get overloaded with cloth too, and I don't usually plan out the size unless I have a specific request from someone. I have made a lot of square quilts, sometimes not even noticing till I'm done. Your quilt looks like the perfect snuggle up with a book size. Keep warm, Karin

You girls had me a crying and it was good. To remember that when I am going through and not on as much you are thinking and praying for me. That keeps me going sometimes. And thank you.

Wow, it is blowing like crazy. Puppies sleeping on my legs and feet, great for keeping it nice and cozy. Although somebody has a bit of gas!!!!!!!!

I did sew today, an apron even!!!!! Made if for a friends birthday put the neck piece on and went what in the world, I had it on backwards.....silly girl.....guess I will be taking that apart tomorrow and fixing!!!! Ah such is the life, a little sewing and a little ripping out.

Karin, you are a night owl. Now, if this were the other night or should I say early morning, I would have been right here with you gals. I couldn't sleep worth beans. Had only about 3 hours of sleep. Went to see my mom yesterday, as it was her birthday and she is still in the hospital. She is scheduled for hip surgery. If she doesn't have hip surgery, then her hip would never heal and she wouldn't be able to walk again. She had turned down surgery when she went in to the hospital when this all began last November. Maybe, my mind knew something was up, and that is why I couldn't sleep.

Sharon, Sorry to hear your mom has to have surgery but if it will keep her moving then it is a good thing. Though I know surgery can be a bit scary too.

Stephanie,
I'll go check out your posts on the kitchen thread.

Getting rain today. Pretty nasty but at least it's warm and cozy inside. Except in our family room where we have buckets placed in various spots to catch the drips. Though the dripping sound doesn't bother me the fact that the roof leaks does. Found it out last night after we got home from picking up the car. By the way, it's a cute little Honda Accord. I just got a part time job and J thought it would be better on gas than the big ole Expedition we bought right before gas prices started soaring.

Stephanie,
My mom and dad have a PT cruiser and it is really a beautiful car. We have always liked the Hondas for their reliability.
Sorry, I got off the apron topic here. This thread sure is getting long again isn't it? ok gonna go work on my quilt today.

OOOPS!
That could'a sounded a bit insensitive to those who just lost so much in a tornado!!
We are just so used to having warnings out but nothing happens.
By the wayI did get those invitations finished

Denise, I know. I wished that she had the surgery back in November. I think though that she thought that it would heal on its own.

Great picture, Bev!! We had snow and ice here yesterday. Accidents all over the place because of the ice on the roads. Hope you are all safe and warm tonight. I head off to mom and dad in Florida in two days. It's 80 degrees there! Can't wait.

Go enjoy that wonderful sunshine for me. Still have snow on the ground but I did see a patch, a teeny tiny one in my neighbors yard. Does that count? LOL

Autumn, you go girl. After working on that crazy satin binding I am wondering how in the world you are doing it with wedding stuff!!!!!!

Bev, snow picture pretty girl, not sure I want to look at more snow though. This girl is ready to see some green. Although it is still early here for that.

Yep, sitting here ripping out that neck piece I goofed on. Such is life.....lol

Have a good evening girls.

Bev. They replaced the upper part of her femur near hip and hip joint. I hope that I said this right. She had the surgery today. The nurse was to call me, and she tried, but she called my mom's house not mine. My mom is doing fine. She had a few irregular heart beats in ICU.

By the way, beautiful picture.

Sharon, so glad your mom did alright with the surgery...now for the healing and rehab...

Denise, those Hondas are good cars..we looked at them. But I love my little Cruiser..hasn't given me a lick of trouble.

Bev, Thanks for a nice "home" fix..The photo is just beautiful! I'm really mixing my mountain home right now, my deer, raccoons, turkeys and all of the birds that I was feeding!!

Autumn, I know what you mean about all the tornado watches down in the deep south. I lived down there so long and the weather is intense and always threatening to blow the wrong way..LOL

When I moved to north Alabama I got away from the hurricane's but then was faced with "tornado season" each springtime..it's totally different from the coastal storms....somehow it seems to be more scary if that makes sense. You and I both know how scary the hurricanes are but you seem to just get used to it and it becomes part of life. I guess after 2 years I still haven't adjusted just to tornado season...LOL It scares the ___t out of me!!!

Denise....we are a Honda family....me, hubby and kids all drive hondas!

Sheryl...have a great trip!! Soak up some sun for me!

I envy you gals in the south that see some signs of spring....no signs of it here and probably not for another 2 months! Blah!!

Sharon...sounds like your mom had what is called a bipolar hip prosthesis. She should do great after getting over the initial post-op stuff! Will keep the two of you in my prayers.
