meanie! bragging about having some buds out already!
It is 18 degrees here and ice and snow all over blaaah :-(
My sidewalk is as long as 10 apartments because I am parked on the other end. Maintence men plow it once in awhile but when it's icy nothing is done. yuk
I'm going to tromp thru the snow beside it to keep from sliding. I have osteoporosis and don't want to take any chances. With vertigo...I have enough trouble keeping my balance without ice!
yep, must be whining.
:-(

Hondas rock. Sold one to a friend when I had 250,000 miles on it, she still loves it. We still have another one with 205,000 on it and hopefully lots more to go.

I tried to always buy American(cars) and did so successfully until my hubby's S-10 got totalled last summer. Now he has a 2002 Mitsubishi and is quite fond of it. I still drive my '87 Blazer.
Toyota's and Honda's are always in top demand and the price reflects their dependability, but it's all personal choice and what you need.

The scenery is gorgeous Bev!!! Still winter scenes are so tranquil.

Enjoy your southern escape, Sheryl-lyn. I can't go from cold to heat. My sister used to live in FL years ago and on spring break my mother and I would go visit for a week. I'd break out in heat rash every time!! LOL gawd, the itch!! Minnesota to FL within hours , I couldn't adapt.

Bonne: That is funny. I can adapt to cold or heat in a NY minute! Although it has been very warm on Long Island this winter, so the adjustment will be minor.

I'll talk to you all when I am at mom's though. She has a good computer setup there. I'll be on the road for a few days though, so adios until Sunday!

Carol Sue: I'll send you a package of sunshine to melt all that snow! You and Bev have had a real winter this year. You need Florida sunshine more than I do.

We are sunny once again in California. We are expecting more rain next week though.

My mom will be in ICU, but I don't know for how long. She had a irregular heart beat a few times while in ICU. I hope that she continues to recover. If her heart stops, she doesn't want to resuscitated. I want her around for a long time. My brother, wife and kids will be coming down, but don't know when. It was to be in April, but things changed.

Hey Jess, I guess I missed something major..what type of surgery is your dad having?

Girls, I've got internet in my new apartment now and tonight we start packing up everything and will haul it out tomorrow to our new location about 3 miles from where we've been living.

It's a huge complex, it's gated, 496 units, fitness room, tanning, putting green plus more. I got a 2 bedroom, 2 bath that has a direct view of one of the ponds For all the hassle that the previous apartment owner has created for us by going into foreclosure I think it was meant to be since the atmosphere of this new place is very good. I can sit on my little porch and have a cup of tea while looking at the pond..sounds like good therapy to me..LOL

We've been cracking up because one of the leasing agents told us that there is an Otter in one of the ponds and the residents are going nuts wanting them to get rid of it...can you imagine?? Sorry but this "farmgirl at heart" hopes the otter comes to my pond to live I'll go buy him some extra fish to eat for dinner every night!!

I'll talk to y'all later, Stephanie

Good for you Stephanie! Sounds wonderful!!!

No pics yet Linda- except on my blog. There are a couple there.

Praying for ya Jess- I used to call myself a "professional Waiter" because I seemed to camp at hospitals with one parent,in-law or another. No siblings still living ao I have 2 sets of parents & father in law and aunt to see to- they are all in their eighties except mom-shes 70.

Blessings,

I am so wiped. I spent the last hour searching for our car keys. I knew that I had the keys to go to the post office, and I usually put the keys on the living room shelf. I said to my dh, "Did you have the keys after me?" He didn't think so, so I am going nuts trying to find these keys. Dh reaches in to his pocket and what does he find, the keys of course. He is the one who is always losing something whether it is the car keys, or his sunglasses.

Thanks Linda. The thing about my mom was that before this all bean, my mom paid all of her utility bills in advance, so now she has credit each month. The only bill that she couldn't do that for was her gas bill.

Stephanie, I am so glad you have an answer and that it is so much better than where you were. A pond to sit and just watch sounds heavenly. Yep, lure that otter to your pond and then you can tell us about his/her adventures!!!!!

Hugs Jess.

Tina your puppy is precious..I used to have one the same color named Matthew. They have wonderful personalities.

Where is everyone? Very odd that no one has posted since last Friday??

Jess, How's your dad?

I finally got moved but in the rain and wind for the most part...now I'm sick with a cough and congestion.

It's not this, it's that!

Hanging out later at night tonight. We could all say we have been sewing up a storm as our excuse!!!!!! Ok, for me that wouldn't be true. I did sew a bit today, I made a baby mattress for the bassinett my mom gave dd. Odd shape so didn't have one. I used mattress pad that I cut up and then warm and natural batting for the top. It turned out great. But boy was that puppie a bugger to get through quilting the top. Ya needs strong arms for that one.

Stephanie, glad that you are moved!!!!!!! And to a nicer place, even better.

I think Naomi and Tina are occupied with that sweet adorable new puppy and who could blame them.

Anyone heard from Jess since Wednesday?

I spoke with Jess on Sunday night....it has been a long haul, but her dad is holding his own. Still intubated, but responding with movement and eye movement. It is going to be a long recovery. I think she is heading home today.....long drive.

You are right, Linda....everyone has been in and out of the mini aprons and felt pins.

I am quilting today...just finishing up a quilt top...will post when I am done, i really like the fabrics on this one.

Steph...glad you are moved in!

Tina....I think a puppy is just what you needed right now! Have fun with your little one!!
