What did I just read about ants? Leave out cornmeal ~they eat/take it home and can't digest and die. I get too impatient though and just want them gone.

Whew!! I got my Vitamin D today in the sunshine! Clipped and snipped and pulled and filled 4 trash barrels with garden waste and branches.
Later I'm going to continue cutting out 4" squares of scrap fabs to make a summer patchy wrap skirt from. I'm all into the Spring fever~watch it snow tomorrow.

Hey there Sheryl-lyn,

Glad you are back home and safe! Yesterday I went out for the first time in a week. I feel like I'm on the upswing of this crud now!

It think it got to about 60 today...Autumn, 86 degrees...wow!

My sister in down in the Florida Keys right now after first stopping in Orlando for the giant Home Builders show they have each year..you know the one that HGTV always does a follow up on. I know some of you don't own a TV so you haven't a clue...LOL It's a really cool look at all the new building gadgets that are available.

Now they are somewhere in the Keys and they are visiting and touring the HGTV Dream Home that will be given away next month.

I like the cooler weather myself...never have adjusted to high humidity and blistering hot temps even though I've lived in and out of it half my life..I'd be living in a mountain house in Colorado if I could afford it..LOL

Hope everyone is warm, cozy and well!

Stephanie

glad you are feelin better steph!

my dad is doing better today as well...he wrote in very shaky way on a paper, and lifted one arm. his girlfriend is such a cheerleader, she always makes it all sound much better than it is, but I think in this situation you need a cheerleader!

speaking of dream homes, i found mine...it happens to be really close to my husbands other office, but not close to where I live. i cannot decide what to do! But 8 beds, 6 baths, 26 rooms, in law suite with kitchen, and 26 acres with 1/2 acre spring fed pond, very up to date barn and 3 car garage and tilled garden areas. what to do? what to do?...and I would have to homeschool the kids...big deal I know...just do it Jess..think outside the box! thinking...thinking...thinking...now to convince my hub!

Holy Cow, if that were here, we'd be talking.........let's see
umm.....well, it's topping the million mark. I don't think
John Elway's house has that much acreage. LOL
How's the selling market there? It's hopeless here and foreclosures are at a high.

yeah, forclosures are high, and the market is slow, but not too slow...my friend sold her house in 90 days and it was nothing special, started home you know. John is not so keen on it as I am but I did get him to agree to just go look at it..so later in the week he is gonna check it out..really a long shot, but maybe he will figure it out, i think he is afraid the kids will turn out weird because I will just hole up on the 26 acres and never interact socially again..but who needs humans, right..we have internet...isnt that enough! ha! yeah so steph come on up and help me pack!

I'd be afraid to do it because of depressed economic times, but if it's at all feasible, you really DO need the space. Just don't work your hubby to death paying for it! We kinda like him,you know? LOL

yeah i know...it is twice as much mortgage as we have now, but i thought if we sell our condo, our rental house, and our house, who cares. It is almost 4 times as much house as I have now, so we would not be crammed in together and it finally has some acreage...i have 2 right now, which is ok, but we are surrounded by subdivision houses on teensy lots, so I feel like they always know what color undies i have on ya know!

I am not goingto really think about it until we actually get to see it upclose and personal..maybe it will suck and I will not want it..yeah right! Anyhow.

Anybody sewin?

I'm thinking about it....lol.
Finished up my western AND spring mini aprons yesterday
and put the box out for Kathie this morning. It's supposed to snow this evening(conducive to sewing)
so I'm also thinking of getting some of the squares I cut out all stitched up so I can cut out a skirt from the resulting fabric. The wrap skirt pattern I'm using is 1 piece laid on the fold, so the skirt hangs sorta like on the bias. I think it'll be cute.
I can't believe this pattern is already out of print!! I wanted to buy another one in case I can't find the original. Butterick 3526

Jess, that sounds so exciting. If it's possible financially (including yearly taxes, fuel oil, etc.) then it would be a great investment. How scary and exciting at the same time!! Get pictures and let us see if you can.
