Stephanie ~ We're not really putting him to rest. He wanted to be cremated, so that'll happen at some point here, and we'll see what to do later. He didn't want a service or anything, and had no interest in his grandchildren knowing anything about him or his life experiences and such. I'm thinking maybe we'll go visit relatives later in the spring when there's not so much snow flying, and maybe put his ashes in the Sound or something. Because I don't need him haunting my garden or mocking me from the basement. My sister's hunkering down with a friend right now, so that's good.

smoothiejuice ~ Nope, it wasn't good wahm made chapstick that's edible, it was the brand name stuff with chemicals and all. Before we started that slippery slide into more things natural/organic. Now, we've got a bunch of stuff like that that the kids can eat/lick and all they'll have is creamier output.

The holiday cruise was great! Was much quicker this year than last year - mostly because we were the last people on the boat. We made it in the nick of time. They fired up the motor like a minute after we boarded. Last year we spent 20 minutes in line waiting and all that jazz. I'll get photos up later, but the kids were thrilled, and Grandma (my mom) thought it was neat. Christmas lights, hot chocolate, M&M's, and seeing Santa! Oh, it took a bit of time to get them settled down tonight.

But in fun news, I hit the MJ store downtown and got a few organic towels. I'm a little excited to wash them up and see how they do.

Carol Sue, I hope you get better fast! I am making some garlic lemonade right now and it always works for the kids so hopefully it will help!

Jess, I love the faery village! It is so cute! You do need to "wash" the yarn to set the twist! Tie it on the top and bottom and each side while it's on the niddy noddy to keep it together! It may look like a bit of a mess when you first take it off because it will twist all up, but it's okay! What I do is run some warm, but not hot water in the sink and put in a drop of soap! Put the yarn in and gently squeeze it in the water, but don't agitate it really because it could felt it! Also don't run the water on the yarn because I have read that can felt it some! I rinse it with cool water and roll it in a towel to get out the excess water and then hang it to dry! You can weigh it down to pull some of the extra twist out, but don't weigh it down too much or it will loose all of the stretch! I usually use my niddy noddy to weigh it down and you can tell if it's too much weight, but that's how I do it! I am looking forward to pics!

Lanna, I wish they would open a MJ store where I live, but I doubt it will happen anytime soon!

We have oleander bushes all around my yard and they are supposed to be poisonous, but the kids know and they leave them alone! We had a few ornament casualties this year after Isaiah told Hannah to throw some of the glass balls against the wall behind the couch and she did!!! Of course I had to give her the mommy lecture of: if he told you to go stand in the road while a car was coming would you do it? Of course she said "NO"! This is the first year I put anything glass down lower at all! Usually everything breakable is on the top 1' of the tree, so I would say we did pretty good!
I did actually call poison control when Isaiah got into toothpaste when he was little and found out that you would actually eat about a half of a tube to get sick from it! The guy I talked to said they put that on there to cover themselves from being sued!

ok
yes not at all worried about the toothpaste...my kids have been munchin on that since they can climb up on the counter and grab it.

alrighty...i will take pics of it on the spindle, pics on the niddy noddy, then I will "wash" it...and take more pics...I have that fiber soap..Eucalan..should I use that..probably I think as I have it to wash my twins alpaca sweaters that a friend(fabulous friend of ours) of mine knitted for them. I should have her get back on MJF. She joined for a few days and some people were REALLY mean to her and scared her away.

Okee Doke, I am off to wash while the company is entertained!

So, I cut out a bunch of itsy bitsy owls last night...cant wait to make them.

Was going to make my grandmother christmas present yesterday, but apparently when you make a knit fabric doll you are supposed to have iron on iterfacing, bah...any suggestions? I've never made a knit doll, what kind of interfacing would you suggest?

Tina, I am glad that the kids liked the video. I never thought that a dog liked snow as much as that dog.

Lana, sorry about the loss.

Jess, I want to play. I think that toys bring out the kid in all of us.

Well, if we're aiming for more posts by New Years...

I am working on assembling a felt stovetop for the kids to play on/with, and coming up with ideas to make the basement bedroom less scary so I can use part of it as my sewing/craft room. Or at least so I can store stuff nicely down there. Right now it's just all a big mess of piles and boxes and such.

we are blabbermouths...ok just walked the pup about 4 miles..yay! nice break from our festivities

Everyone has been playing with the faery house. Okay, haven't washed yarn yet, spinning blue now, already spun all the green, I believe it was 4 oz.

it is so warm out, I want to go plant something..warm enough I oculd go dig up some bulbs for Tina. Dont worry Tina I have not forgotten you. Between being at the end of my pregnancy and her being born I just never got them dug up before it froze.

Snow..have fun in it teresa.

My hubs built a stove/oven and sink and a fridge several yrs ago for hte kids, it was great. when we moved to this house we found there is a perfect little nook for it, so now the kids have a kitchen area that they love.

Bonne...anyone...do you know how to set the Feed for your blogger blog? People that area adding me to their "blog list" are not getting the feed updates when I have a new post...thought maybe Bonne would know..I'll ask around...I think it's something at my end because I can't get my feed to work from my Ravelry profile either.
