Actually now that things have settled down I can get back on. My gifts are homemade and didn't make xmas deadline so I will be sending after as it takes 2 weeks from here. I did chat with Steve a couple of weeks before xmas and I am waiting for a reply to todays. I know they go to his folks for Christmas. He is hurting bad. It is going to be a huge adjustment just for daily routines and kids being out of school. But I am sure they will carry on fine. It is hard it has been 2 years for my dh's family and it is still hard and they are grown children. It will be rough for them but Clare gave them an excellent foundation of what faith really is.

Steph- I just pushed the buttons that are orange(?)
but I think you have to allow it- check your settings for privacy maybe- really I have no idea

I did send a card, but no gifts- I thought how hard this season would be for him-

I visited with a close friend that is also dying with a rare cancer- it's a breast cancer that didn't go to the breast????-
It was a tough visit- she has decided to stop chemo and go home and do the best she can.

Blessings,
Autumn

Oh Autumn, hugs to you dear friend. You have certainly been having a very tough year girl.

Carrie, this has been the season to wear Clare's aprons. sure do miss her.

Nay, the owlies are multiplying now aren't they, I bet they are major adoreable.

Jess, you without a Chrismtas apron, now how in the world did that happen.

Kathie, thinking about you.

Denise, how are you and your wrist doing?

Karin, so how are you doing there? No more exciting adventures I am praying.

Steph, prayng the weather stays just perfect for you and getting ready.

Alright who was it that had 71 degress, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh We got to 30 degrees, now that was a heat wave for us.

So just when you think you are all done with your water adventure, and you have made a vent, then more happens. Yes,more.
We had on more pipe to go and where is the break, under the bathtub, how can you get to it, by removing your tub surround and your bathtub.....aaarrrrrrrggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh. LFD's hubby and mine have been working on that one this afternoon and evening. We have been doing the shoveling off of the roofs since the snow was incredibly heavy from last night, very very wet. Collapes have been the norm for today in town. We figured shoveling was a very good thing. When is Spring!!!!!!!!!
LOL. I vote it is time to quit this shoveling and have time to get to play in this!!!!!!!!

Carol Sue ~ I'm with you on wanting spring. I'm just itching to start my indoor seeds, but can't until at least March....
So was that house issue #2 or #3? Because they always come in threes... (ours was the garage door, water heater and dishwasher when I was pregnant with #2).

no christmas apron..i know..weird.

yes, i am sure steve is really hurting. I often want to send her an email, but I know it does not really go anywhere, but ..oh well..nevermind.

yes got up to 74 here today and is rainy rainy rainy..as if we need more rain.

I think in february when valentines are finished i will get my basement in order with a new grow table and more lighting so seeds get a great start...last year i got bogged down with my dad's surgery and john's moms cancer, then of course I was prego again...how did that happen? And we finally got dad home and whatever, well, you know, you were all here for me through all of it. johns dad seems to be doing well after the quad bypass, little light headed at times but i guess he and docs are on top of it.

Autumn, send good thoughts to your friend, this has been a long ordeal for her.

who else..karin..where are ya....the vintage pins are so nifty keeno.

Denise..what happened to your wrist, must have missed out on that one..or wait..was it carpul tunnel or something? Someone refresh my memory.

CS....geez....I have a rental house next door if you wanna move over here to this 1/2 of the country...no pipes will freeze there.

Steph..my crazy mother lives part of the year near you in gray, she says there is a really cool wilderness something or other every year out of pigeon forge down to the smokies for free..for people who like to hike and for people who would like to see the sights but not hike. in Januaries.

carrie..good for you for makin something for them...I am still trying to figure out what they could get from me that would not cause them to be sad.

Autumn, So sorry to hear about your friend! I will keep her in my prayers!

Carol Sue, Hope all comes out well with the tub!

I had a long day shopping! It's an hour round trip just to drive to town and back and it seemed to take forever to get through every store I went to and it wasn't because of holiday shoppers, it was just me taking forever! I would recommend being careful of what you purchase at Dollar General! I had found a nice pair of leather slippers for my hubby there, but they were too narrow so I was going to take them back! Even though I had the receipt and the tags were still on they would not give me a full refund because they were now on sale! I just could not get over that! Any way enough griping!!

I hope you are all warm and cozy tonight!!

Hey eventually it will get better, just didn't expect it to get this crazy, yes, roof leak will get fixed tomorrow. Shoveling the roof was more than was in me, but thanks to Teresa we got it done. Leak on roof thankfully is not hard to fix.

Jess, know what you mean about wanting to send and email and then going....ohhhh Hmmm a rental you say, but I have to admit I do like living here and this isn't the crazy norm.....lol
There are many many people with crazy weather this year but thankfully you gals let me vent. I don't know what I would do without you all.

Hey Carrie, how is the crazy weather in your neck of the woods? And what projects are you getting to work on?

Curled up in bed and finally warm, hopefully will be snoozing soon.

Lanna, yep, we have had our 3's and we are done, dang it....lol

(((Autumn))) it's been rough on your family/friends recently. Plus the absent grands. :(

I don't know that I consciously set the feed on my blog...must be somewhere in the customizing of the settings.

I sewed 3 draft-dodgers, made a patchwork pillowcase , plus covers for my computer chair last night. I patched together oddball scraps for the dodgers~slowly whittling down my fabrics so that ...............I CAN JUSTIFY HITTING JOANN'S 1/2 OFF CLEARANCE FABS NEXT WEEK!!!.....whoops, sorry, got excited....can't wait to spend my gift card from son....lol

Jess~I love the faerie village!!! It is too cute. Did you buy that or did someone make it. I would be playing with it too. I hope your visit with the inlaws is going well.

Lanna~I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Praying for your mom and sister.

Naomi~I can't wait to see your owls.

I would love to watch the dog video. I will have to wait until our new monitor arrives. It would be horrible on here.

Autumn~Sorry to hear about your friend. Sending you some (((hugs))).

Carol Sue~I am so sorry to hear about all the water trouble you are having. The other house we owned had so much water trouble. Whenever we fixed one thing we found another problem. I hope all goes well and gets better.

I'm going back on the couch. I feel horrible. My throat is sore and my head is pounding. I hope this goes away soon.
Thinking of all of you.

Carol Sue:
I moved to southern tip of B.C. where there isn't supposed to be much snow. I think I am closer to Washington but would have to look on map I sucked at geography. Iit started to get -40C
2weeks before xmas then it started to snow and hasn't stoppped. Our temps are like 30F now. Many years ago when I lived in a trailer if u didn't shovel roof it leaked. As far as your pipes go with it being as cold as it is there u need some insulation under your trailer. But that's not your normal temps is it? I am close to Washington I think and it is still snowing here.
I am taking a week off sewing as I was sewing like a mad women befor xmas.

Jess: Clare's family has a large support system. If you want to make something just go ahead what I am doing will hit home but it's ok they will be happy they have it in the end. It's a hard thing to go through and they will just be happy to be thought of all year not just xmas. I know Clare did a lot of sewing for them before she passed.

Bonne: Did you put pics on your blog? I got a gift certificate for fabric too yipppee skippee

Today I need to go get veggies and fruit mmmmmmmm I like my veggies and fruit!!

Monica, that store policy doesn't make sense. Most stores will give you a full refund even though the item is on sale, unless you do not have a receipt. I guess since they weren't making any money because of the sale, they wanted to keep what they can.

Good Morning Ladies, Hope everyone is warm and well!

Ruth, I will say a prayer that you get better quickly! I am still fighting off my cold and I don't feel like doing anything, but it looks like a toy factory exploded in my front room so I have to get things cleaned up some at least!

Sharon, I think some things were on clearance, but I still for the life of me can't understand why I paid them $7.00 8 days ago and now they want to give me $5.00 to return them! That could add up to quite a bit of money from people trying to return something! I am too stubborn to return them for $5.00 so now I have a pair of slippers that are brand new and no good to me! I won't be shopping there again anytime too soon!

I didn't know Clare well, but it still breaks my heart!

Carrie, I agree with you on thinking of her family through out the year! Quite often there are lots of people around in the beginning, but then later on there really isn't anyone around! I have no idea what I could do so if you have any suggestions, please let me know!

Well ladies, we are only 12 pages away from 600!!!! We can do it!!

Since people want to do something for Clare's family how be I start a swap for a spring signiture block for a wall hanging that I could put together or if someone has suggestions I will gladly start something. I know Steve couldn.t understand why we swapped but now has a new appreciation for it. Just so he knows we still are thinking of them. Lets come up with ideas and I will start a thread for this. ok You girls are great!! Put your thinking caps on

Monica, If the slippers are just a bit too narrow, douse them with rubbing alcohol and have him wear them awhile..it will stretch out the leather. I don't shop at dollar stores, and those who know me know I will save a buck whenever I can. Source and poor quality of what they sell is not worth it. Too many recalls and counterfeit items. Just my thoughts and surely don't expect anyone to care or change their shopping choices. Store could have at least given you store credit and kept a customer.
Was going to Reno today and shop for/with my grandson, but he's still asleep on the very nice air bed I got him. Sam's clearance, built in air pump that takes about a minute, twin or velcro together for king size. Was less than the queen size going back to Target that was $15 more. Since he's "camping out" in a house with two other guys, he's been sleeping on an air mattress that is flat by morning. Have two loaves of French Toast, lasagna and personal size pizza's made and frozen for him to take home. Plus cereal, milk and whatever else he wants. Can't have him going hungry, he's already skinny from not eating and was slim to begin with. yep, being a grandma.
Too much not nice end of year stuff for many of you...we can hope the next year will be calmer and less stressful for all.
Keeping warm and dry seems to be a priority for all except you southern ladies. Larry said this morning it's finally turned cold in Prudhoe Bay Alaska, -18, -40 with the wind chill. Better him than me :)

Re Clare's family. Maybe a comfy couch throw, flannel or fleece backing would be more useful and appreciated by the family?

I didn't know clare either, but like Monica, it makes me so sad. I know how difficult it is on kids,
as my dad passed when I was 12.
She had a huge family though, I thought I read that in
her obit. , like 12 bros. & sisters?
