Thank you for the kind thoughts about my wretched leg. I think I need a new one, or something.

SherylLyn, I love your leaf quilt, it is so gorgeous. I have been wanting to make one for years.
A friend in my quilting group had a quilt her mom had made in the fifties, a maple leaf, all different colors and wonderful old fabric. She hand quilted it, beautifully, and gave it to her sister. I don't think I could be that generous...

Well the wind is really howling here tonight, I've cranked the heat up to seventy ( I think that is illegal in Maine if you are a native Mainer), but the breeze is pretty strong indoors here. My storm window sounds like a band of crazed clog dancers, I think I'll be sleeping in my sewing room tonight!

Ronna, that is a great picture of you, nice to see you.

I have taken another pain pill, I'm going to go lie down, I hope to get a living heating pad or two to soothe my leg. I love the cats who cooperate with my plans. The littlest kitty, Buttercup, is the best snuggler. She is half Persian, half Siamese, a little stubby cobby white kitty with medium white fur that is very soft. She purrs all the time. The vet has neveer heard her heart or lungs, because she purrs through the entire checkup. Once she had me put some alcohol on a cotton ball and hold it under her nose, but she kept right on purring. We figure she's ok though.

Happy New Year! and I'm going to try to post my picture this year, one more time....

hey gals! Happy New Year!
So glad to see so many photos of you all..and your projects and cool finds..wow!
and hey..ya'll finally coaxed Ronna out of hiding..hey Ronna! so nice to be able to put faces with names.
you all look great!
Well..it has been crazy/hectic here the last few days..so much to get done/packed up.Busy clearing rooms out and cleaning out, getting ready for what will hopefully be our last big garage sale here.
I'll be honest..please send good vibes/thoughts/prayers..I could use them...I've had a 9 yr. reprieve on the packing and moving thing..and gosh..I forgot just how much there is to it...and how much of it actually falls upon a woman to get things done. Not that hubby doesn't help..he does..but here I'm the official "packer upper".So..yeah..any good vibes..send em my way and keep em coming for a few months..I could use the extra energy.:0)
Hugs to you all..may the coming year be a great one for all of us!

Sheryl, the trip to Ireland will be awesome..believe farm fair would be put on the side burner for that. Just looked at your falling leaves quilt and it's so pretty "as usual"...wouldn't expect anything but near perfection from you...

Karin, yes, get your daughter to get that computer to cooperate! Please get that leg checked out, you hear me?

Autumn, I'm so glad you are now an official chicken woman....I was once called "dances with chickens"..LOL I loved my chickens..so dam much fun...truly better than TV anyday.

Linda, hey there, glad to see that smiling face..and Danny Boy too. You would never be forgotten! Never ever...

Ronna, the lady of many treasures...now we've met "in picture"...LOL love seeing everyone's photos...oh and all the quilts are just divine!

Jess, Emilia's gift is so cute and thoughtful....Let us know what hubs decides to do...I do know exactly how you feel and what you deal with...Thomas is contracted with these jobs he is doing but fortunately they are required by the government so that does add some job security...but even then he got thrown a curve in November when the economy finally went bazerk!! They stalled on starting the next phase and that's why he's been traveling out of state to work other jobs for the past 7 weeks...it's not easy but the money is good..we just look for the day that he can retire (again).

Bonne, the Thumblelina dolls are precious...

Hope everyone is safe and warm this New Year's Eve!

Happy New Year's day to everyone! The happiness fairy just insisted on visiting...hehehe...(sorry for the 4-letter word but she means it only with much affection. LOL She just makes me laugh everytime I look at her so she has to start the year with me. The slippers are over the top stylish, don't you think?

LOL, only you, dear sweet Steph, Happinees Fairy indeed.

Happy Happy New Year Girls!!!

Bonne, no I haven't gone my arse in gear I am in leaky hell right now!!!!!! OMG, that sounded bad.....lol
Just when you think you are done, you have to go find a dang part, which puts a real kink in getting it done. So were are in Walmart, yes, I do go there, and over the loud speaker comes please move directly to the front of the store, leave your carts and go to the front of the store. They were literally ushering us out the doors, they let me check out, thankfully. Their have been several roofs that have collasped here beause of the extreme snow loads. So talk about having it be a little freaky to go into the store and then get to told to move your tushie quick!!!!!! It didn't hit me till after we got out of the store, then you wanted to run like crazy and get out of there.....that was an adventure for sure.

So what did I do for New Years eve, shoveled off the 5 ft of snow off my little quilt shed because we all know that you cannot under any circumstances lose your quilt stash. Teresa came by and got on the roof and shoveled like crazy. GAds that stuff is heavy. On the one side of my little quilt barn are 10 ft arbervita's that just keep holding the snow on the roof. So there I go, climbing the fence into our good neighbors yard, the snow is up to my bum, getting slapped in the face with the dang bush, only to realize I can't make it move!!!!! Back over I go again. I have to tell you this is a heck of a work out program!!!!!! Pant, pant, pant!!!!! Yep, not a dull moment here!!!!!

Ronna, Happy Belated Anniversary to you and Larry. Your quilt finds were great and I sure did love seeing them. Hey, I took a picture of Caleb in the coat and snowpants you gave him, will put on blog just for you tomorrow.

Jess, venting is a very good thing. Change and the unknown are tough buggers I think for any of us. Let us know what happens with hubby.

Sheryl-lyn, girlfriend that was a superb job quilting and fall quilt. The colors are delightful as well.

Autumn, I can't wait to see pictures of your chickens and yippee that you found some ready to lay just for you.
Our girls are laying even with this cold weather, we are getting 5 a day or so. We got heavy breeders, figured with out winter weather that would be smart. It sure has been proving to have been a good idea.

Karin, hey you, go get that leg checked!!!!!! Remember last time when you couldn't figure things out and scared the tar out of us girl!!!!!! We want you safe and well.

Linda, I see you......grin.

To any I am forgetting, forgive me. Reading this late tends to make me forget what in the world I read, but I don't dare go a day or you get way way way far ahead of me....lol.

Sheryl- your quilt is perfect as usual!!! What a fun pattern!!

Great picture, Autumn...

Jess, i forgot to say oh my god, those little shoes for baby Emilia, they are so cute, and polka dots too...someone knows how to sew incredibly well!

Went to bed at midnight, writhing in pain. Read a few chapters about homesteading in the Alaskan wilderness.
Staggered downstairs and got some "pain relieving" gel and slapped some of that on. In the meantime the wind was literally howling, my house sits on a little knoll and the wind hits it just right. Think of wretched oold
Vincent Price movies with obnoxious sound tracks. And of course the continuing hoofbeats of my raggedy storm window clacking away. Read some more. About four thirty I decided it must be time for more pain pills, but they didn't help, so I burrowed back into bed, me and the kitties. Six thirty this morning I finished the book. It was great...Slept for a few hours and now I feel really horrible, but I still haven't made any coffee, maybe that will help.

This moaning wind is truly relentless. Last night there was a big bonfire on the beach in Belfast, I think the wind chill factor was about 20 below. You would have to be batsh** insane and or stinking drunk to show up for that. Knowing many locals i'm sure it was well attended. I wonder if the local polar Bear Club will be doing their annual ocean dunk at noon. It makes my brain hurt just to think about it...

Sorry to rant and rave, thank you for letting me get rid of that. Off to the coffee pot!

Nice photo Marian. Hope your brother and his partner weren't anywhere near that nightclub fire, the TV reports were scary.
I thought I'd had Jess post my pic before. Just don't be expecting another in this decade, I try to be the one behind the camera. Oh, Jess, who took the one of the whole family listening/watching Dad read? Maybe your sister?
Will take more quilt photos as I put the guest room back together, know there are more recent ones I've not shown. One woman textile rescue here. My goal is to make one I'll be proud to show and share. All so far were utility four patch or such and I don't have them anymore. I did a denim one from my son's outgrown jeans and never did finish it, took it apart and it's in a bag in the closet. Do need to do that for him before I start another one, he mentions it once a year or so. Think I'll back it with a T-shirt top from special ones he's worn and loved over the years, won't be quite so heavy as the denim front.

I can just hear the wind whipping around your house, the windows rattling, you would make a great thriller girl!!!!

Autumn, oh what a happy smile you have with your chikie, off to see your blog.

great to see you marian!

ronna, we usually have a pertty good tradition of finishing up a nice xmas eve dinner, bathing the kids, gettin em into cozy pjs, read the story, then off to bed, but this year with the visit from my dad adn john having to take him back we had not yet done the bath and pjs thing and my sis was still here, so before john left to take dad home we did the story(since john would not be getting back home until about 2 am)...so yes, sarah took the pic.

karin...go get your leg checked, that is danger all over the place.

ronna, any pics u want posted, just pass em on...do u want those 2 from last night posted?
