I love Steph's fairy and didn't see a four letter word..think it was 6 or 7 letters. Sweet chickens. I wouldn't mind a few here, but know my dogs would kill them and that would break my heart. I hate it when the Lab snags a quail and have to realize she's a bird dog and it's instinct. Carol Sue, someone needs to stop doing a snow dance in WA, enough already. We're supposed to get a storm tomorrow. Snow has just melted and a muddy backyard here. Tina and Naomi, I can relate too well to the sorting and packing. Said I'm staying here until they carry me out, hope to not have to move again. I'm just way too sentimental about some stuff from years past. Geez, I've still not gone through all mothers stuff and she's been gone 3 years already. Glad Marion's brother was not near the bad nightclub fire. Karin, we're all concerned about the pains you've been having in your leg. So, we're gonna nag you to get it checked out. Jess, you can post whatever I send you, leave it up to you what would be "of interest" to others.

Karin, I just love your sense of humor, even through all your pain episodes, but I have to agree with the others. It may just be a manifestation of your fibro, but then again it may not and we all know what happened with you the last time. :( I unloaded a truck load of pine mulch and spread it around areas in the yard that needed it. The park mulches the Xmas trees each year, so we load up. Feels good to work outside in our nice weather the past days.

Bonne, had meant to compliment the cowboy quilt/comforter. After my MIL died, we found scraps from all the shirts she made the 3 boys all their growing years. Lots of 40's/50's cowboy prints. Lori has them and does not sew a stitch, need to get them from her. She has her Elna too, cause MIL wanted her to have it-someone could be making use of that machine. I'd love to know how many miles/hours that machine was used, know it was lots.

My MIL had those fabrics stashed away and even though she knew she wouldn't use them , and knew I sewed, she wouldn't share them. It was only after she went to a nursing home, my hubs and I got to go through her crafting dressers to help my FIL clean things up. Finally, I got them by default. pffsst!! It wasn't like her kids would use them~she had 4 boys and I'm the ONLY daughter-in-law.

What really surprised me in going through MIL's sewing stuff was a quilt top along with the pattern she made in the late 30's, very early 40's. Mailing date was on the envelope with pattern. She knew my love for quilts and had given me some from her family, but never ever mentioned having made one. Guess she liked knitting/crocheting/sewing better. Can't remember the pattern now, it's in a box I need to go look through soon. I was part of the family from about age 8, learning to bake bread from her and just hanging around her house...not a clue I would be marrying her middle son just 8 years later. She was really tight with the pursestrings, so never bought extra fabric and scraps are small but can be used for pillows or a wall hanging. All 3 sons divorced, but I stayed in close contact with all the years and she died shortly after Larry and I got back together. I'd moved back to NV to help take care of her and he came to visit for the first time in 10 years.

Ronna, i forgot to say : nice quilts! You certainly are good at picking up the good ones. I am always so thrilled when I get a nice old wool blanket. I got a couple old pink ones, one with white flowered edge print at a junk store. I gave one to my firend Beth. She loves them and she and her husband have a summer house on Shebague Island, off the coast of Maine, so she needs all the blankets she can get. My favorite one is a heavy sort of egg yolk yellow one that I keep on my bed because the cats love to sleep on it. It was made in Scotland and has a funny tattered old label on it.
I was trying to behave myself, but I finally had to take another 0pain pill so I could go to town to pick up yet another prescription. The wind is just brutal, and the noises, it is amazing.
Bonne, what fun that you finally got all those wonderful bits of fabric. That cowboy quilt is so terrific, and it is completed. That is very impressive. Once years ago i got someone's tiny fabric stash at a yard sale, my favorite is a muslin with little people on it in goofy clothes, it is so funny, I always like to include a tiny piece in my scrap quilts. I am down to about eight square inches. I have bags of tiny scraps that I just can't part with. A few years ago I made a quilt for my grand nephew with lots of tiny pieces of old forties fabrics, my favorite being the three little pigs and the big bad wolf. Too much fun...
My son just called and he is coming out to spend a couple days here to give me a hand. That will be nice. He is such a sweetheart, don't know how that happened. The rest of us are kind of grumpy.
I am drinking coffee, always a good idea. Keep warm girls.

Do I hear quilt book in the making? We'd all buy it, that's a start. Photos of all your wonderful creations would be a joy to see in a book.

If Jess was at my house for a week, everything would be done that needs done...her energy amazes me every single day. I can't blame it all on the Fibro/chronic fatigue I've had for so many years, but don't seem to get much accomplished. Didn't before the Internet either, so can't blame it on being online...just adds to the problem for me.

That's what you get for having those cats with lots of white hair. Black cats blend so much better. lol Never fails though, whenever I go to meet a new client, I'm always wearing something that is the exact opposite of the new pet and I come home covered in hair. ;)

I don't see any cat hair. We used to call cat or dog hair the secret ingredient when one got into whatever was cooked/served. Now it's just dog hair here, but it seems to stay on the floor and furniture, thankfully.

oh Karin, you really are just as I had pictured you..beautiful!....my wickedly wild at heart kindred sister ..absolutely love the round glasses, the hat with the rose...me, me, me...I've been hunting round eyeglass frames for a year and no one around here has any..I thought with Harry Potter that they would be very popular....there are some for the kids but they are too narrow.
Anyhow, it's so nice to meet your "picture"... so cool to have the face to go with your fabulous sense of humor...gotta love it.
I believe that living with pain can manifest the sense of humor or turn you bitter..I know the pain I've been living with has resulted in a wacky sense of humor..it still keeps life on a positive note even though you hurt like hell.
Ok, I'll stop gushing forth....
