Ruth, I am feeling better! Thank you for asking! Now I am just trying to get my house cleaned up! You can come to my house and do laundry! My laundry pile has to be related to rabbits some how because it keeps multiplying on me!!!

I just used to drop (or cover with cardboard if the machine is old) my feed dogs and then use my regular foot If the foot got in the way, I would just take it off. Supposedly, that is what people used to do with the old featherweights! Most of the time, I could just drop the feed dogs and go nuts.

Monica: Glad you are feeling better! Laundry? What's that? Aren't all of your clothes disposable?

Ruth: Quilting is a lot of fun. And it is so easy really. Just pick an easy block and don't look too far ahead!

Lavendar Girl: Hey, I found that book with the design you liked in it! Want me to send a copy to your email when I get a chance?

Hey, can a sewing machine freeze?? I just realized that my featherweight has been in the back of my truck (I have an Avalanche so it is covered) for about a month. I forgot about it totally since I use it for classes only and have not taken one in a while!

i think it should be fine, let it warm up before you try to use it as the stuff can get jarred from being too cold and thrown into motion. my sewing machines have ha that happen to them and have come out ok.

alright i will try your free motion suggestions and try not to sew off my finger.

sure monica if you don't need it that would be grand....what would ya like in return?

Hey!! I don't want to sit here worrying about your fingers all night!! Try it with a foot on the machine first though!! I always keep my fingers a ways away anyway because I get moving too fast. I will bring that machine in tonight and let it thaw.

A new mouse, what a treat.

I wish we had some laundry faeries here. Have any of you read William Mayne's Hob stories. He's an English children's author and I used to get his books out of the library for my kids, they were a big hit. We eventually got a used copy of most of his stories on line. All sorts of household goblins, Hob, who's the good one, Then there'ss Hinky Punk and now I'm drawing a blank on all the others. No, there's Eggy Palmer, he likes to create havoc in the kitchen...

No wind today and the ppain in my left leg has disappeared, only to be replaced by t the old burning pain in my right knee, but I know that is arthritis

Sheryl-Lyn the International Polish mystery quilt is a dazzler! I once tried to make a blue and white quilt, a schoolhouse one, but I ended up throwing in a few red chimneys and doors. My son's fourth grade class raffled it off to fund a three day overnight wxtravaganza at a local nature camp. You do such a lovely job on yr quilts and the quilting - bravo! My fibro doesn't do well with me machine quilting on my Bernina, so I have to send them out, or do them by hand. It takes too long, but I do enjoy it. I have so many topes that need to be made into quilts.

Thank you all for your kind words about me and my hat. It was a real leap of faith for me to actually let people see my face, but I'm not freaking out. Thanks again, jess.

I found a great hat for my daughter today, a fake leopard sort of bucket hat, it looks great on her. She was thrilled with it. She claims she has a pinhead and looks weird in hats, but this one looks so good...I have an extra big head, I don't know if it is because of a skull fracture I had as a child, but I always have trouble finding a hat that actually fits on my head. I think i have a very thick skull. just as well I guess.

Steph, I want to thank you again for sending me that luscious cotton yarn, it really has inspired me to crochet again....I did make a really loony potholder out of the thin crochet cord. I'll see if I can post that sometime (always good to know Jess is on standby though). I figured out the pattern from looking at a couple old potholders I have and felt brilliant about it, but when set next to the older ones, mine looks like it was made by monkeys.

Ronna, that car looks great. I remember seeing pictures of some of your caars , and your bears awhile back.

I believe it is naptime for me.

silly woman Jess, I wouldn't lie to you unless I was alone or with someone :)
Sad loss of the son, shows that money, celebrity and all don't insulate anyone from tragedy.

Miss Beverly has a fabric giveaway on Across the Fence, for the canning jar quilt fabrics. Didn't some of you do a swap on those sometime back?
Just had to give you a bad time, Jess :) I know you don't glue yourself to a TV ever, so when I saw it the AOL home page, had to share the bad news.

Bev's fabric finds are just awesome. I'd love to just sweep the floor of her sewing room and save the scraps.
Hey, wonder if she needs a housekeeper.......ROFL!

Hey....just stopped in to say hi...Bonne you are hired. I could use a housekeeper....no it is just me sweeping the sewing room floor...and I don't bother until those tumbleweed threadballs start rolling around on their own.

My quilting store just happened to have a pack of 14 fat quarters of those fruit and veggie fabrics all tied up in a neat little bundle...now how could I walk away from that. Anyways...what am I going to do with the rest...I mean who needs more than 1 canning jar quilt? So....that is why I am offering up some of it for giveaway. This quilt went together in an evening and a morning....really slick!

I agree with Jess....let the machine warm up, Sheryl lyn and it should be fine.

Well, gotta go eat some icecream and then out to put the ponies to pasture...it is freezing here....just bought myself some sexy Carhart quilted bib overalls....now I wear the same clothes as our construction workers!! HA HA!!
