If anyone could make Carharts look sexy, I do believe it would be Beverly. They still make a quality product that wears like Levi's from years past. Larry wears them and my son has finally realized they are great too. Price is more than fair too. Geez, I sound like I work for the company...not.

Hey Tina, you met Zan (farmtopia) in person?? I think she's gonna make it to the cabin one day to visit me. I knew you loved that Wilendur design...I intend to send you a panel of the real thing. You know me...I'm slow....but with good intentions..

Karin, oh you're welcome...yarn seems to be something that I think everyone should have..LOL..well, along with fabric too. yes, I think I saw in your photobucket album "as I was snooping around a while back a picture of old crocheted potholders on your kitchen wall. I used to make the reproductions of them and always gave them away...I don't think I still have the page but it was probably from one of the early Country Living magazine....a kitchen with the crocheted potholders, hotpads hanging from the ceiling down to the counter tops..it was so inspiring. Made me think of that when I saw yours hanging on the wall.

Bev, those overalls are so warm..And I hope that the construction crew knows who the boss is!!

Nay, I knew she was going south to visit family but in my mind I though south New York...LOL Well....she now has NO excuse on her next excursion to make it to the mountains..we've already planned a "wild at heart" sewing retreat...just do as you please for several days...of course, we probably need someone there that loves to cook! so we don't even have to leave. I look forward to having her visit..she's got that wild dreamy spirit that I still have but she still has all the energy that goes with it...LOL

Ok, I think I'm about caught up...left for one day and had 7 pages to read...

Ruth, our move has been delayed (again) "sigh" but on the bright side it's because the next phase of Thomas's job is opening up in Memphis which means he's no longer on the road to other jobs..YAY!! So now we are aiming for near the end of January for the move. Did you get your monitor yet? And I'm anxiously awaiting the owl hat pictures.

Monica, sorry, I think I'm repeating myself...LOL You're kind... I don't need a reward...I've always been one to promote goods that I love...And I know how much effort is put into something you want to sell and how nice it is to look up and "see funds" in front of you for all the effort. You never know..this spun silk may turn into a collection to offer. It is divine!

Sheryl, can't wait to see "the best quilt ever"...

I spend more time with Zan (farmtopia) at her blogs and emails then on the group....I like playing the Scrabble game over on the across the fence. I'm close to a one topic lady these days...there are few ladies that sell in the marketplace that I keep up with.

I love Carhartt!! I used to steal Ken's, but he got me my own. For some reason, I still usually go for his first though.

Time to get ready for bedtime!! Tomorrow Ken and I are going to the vintage gun show (very high end stuff we cannot afford-but a classy show to attend) in Connecticut. There is a cool fabric store nearby that I love, so I will get some fabric for the aprons I plan to make this month. I will make the one in the new MJF magazine first. I can't wait. We go to a nice tavern for lunch while we are there too. Goodnight and sweet dreams!!

I have gotten to the point where I don't venture off this thread much anymore either especially considering that if you are gone for more than a day you will have a books worth of chatting to catch up on!! We have gone through 21 pages in 3 days!!! If we keep this up we will be at 800 by the end of the month!!

Steph, If it were not for you and Bonne, I would have not started a blog and you are the one that sent Kathleen my way! I know you don't expect anything! We will just call it a token of appreciation for your friendship! Besides I don't really have anyone around here that shares my enthusiasm for hand spun yarn! It's also nice to get some feed back and I think we already talked about you being my tester!!!

Yes, I agree about the sexy carhart wearer....
In Alaska everyone wore carharts in the winter...women wore men's sizes and many people wore hand me downs because they lasted so long. The stains or tears didn't bother us....we were just wanting to stay warm. I had some somebody gave me that I wore to work at the airport. It was a small airlines, we had little single engine, two seater planes for hauling mail and groceries to the villages. Many villages way up north don't even have road systems...just a little Alaskan story of mine.
Jess, when I took a quilting class last year we were told to just lower the feed dog and I think either the regular foot could be used or taken off and no foot used. A walking foot was mentioned but not necessary.
I'm going to take another class there but my favorite way to quilt is hand tied...love them.
nite girls...
