Got the blanket in the wash now~lol get the chemicals off. It's nothing unusual, but the cowboy print is darn cute.

| Aww Jess, does that mean Sally is finally getting the hang of being a family dog and not a big pain for you? Yay for Vincent and his birthday puppy! |

Carol Sue, I love the picture of you and Buster, those little meezers can be a real handful, but they always are such snugglers. Hope you are getting the rest you need.
Jess, you and your family are amazing, there is nothing better than a nice long walk to soothe the winter squirrelies.
Karin from Georgia, I always enjoy your blog. You are so creative, and those baby shoes for Emilia are just incredible! I remember how wonderful your chicken house is. i'm sure the birds love it.
Having a nice slow day here, spent a couple hours crocheting and ripping out. I may try again later. Or I may just read, I think my fingers need a break from the world's tiniest crochet hook. I wear long skirts a lot and I want to make lace trim for my homemade cotton slip. I love making clothes, but haven't done it for quite a while. i discovered a small batch of aprons i forgot I had, one a really sweet little child's lace apron. I'll take a picture of it tomorrow and if I can't post I may have to request the services of the amazing jess.
Definitely moving at slow speed today...off to bed, i think.
It is such a treat for me, this forum, all you wonderful women...

Also, you have females Jess. "generally" they are better behaved because they don't want to pee on everything in sight to mark their territory. (of course there are always exceptions, but "generally" speaking) Plus you have family-oriented breeds. For someone that's not wild about dogs, you've got a couple good ones as far as personality and breed. I'm not a dog person either, as far as wanting to own one. Tried that a couple times due to the other half.

well, sally is coming along, still very much a crated dog, i hate that, but the only way we can all stay sane. But we are trying to take her for as many and as long of walks as we can. That Gentle Leader device is great for her and us.

I agree about female dogs. Just don't want the leg lifting and territory marking issues. Nicer around kids too, don't have them humping them. Not easy to explain to a toddler why the dog isn't being funny and that he should not do that. Now, if you could just get John to like and enjoy the animals...but that's probably not gonna happen in this lifetime. This rat terrier is not lovable except to Larry and she does try my patience often, but at 15 or so and 10 of those here, she's part of the family until the end. Love my Labs; Shelby did not "replace" Babe, but is a sweetie in her own way and so very lovable. |

Sheryl, the apron is so cute. I love mixing fabrics like that..yes, if there a pocket intends in the midst of those layers I would have chunked it too!
Hey Karin in GA....I know you decorated the cutest henhouse around...now I want to know how you keep your hens from trashing it?? You must have some well mannered girls.
Lanna, just left your blog. WOW!!
Jess, I'm so glad Sally is growing up without you or her being miserable. It can be trying with a puppy...but they just bond to you so deeply. After Miss Morgan living the "breeding" lifestyle for the first three years of her life, basically never seeing the light of day outside of a carrier except for periodic recess...She had all kinds of mental problems...when I let her tiny self loose in that big house we had she didn't have a clue how to act..it scared her so bad. took her close to a year before Thomas could hold her..guess she had never been around any men. In May I will have had her for three years..she's a totally different doggie with all the freedom and love she gets.
Night, Sheryl!

Ya know my computer (ancient, 5 years old...the processor anyways) had to buy a new monitor a year ago...anyhow, my computer has had it's own mind for quite some time..the more it got worked on to try to straighten it out...well, it's OLD! Ancient! Fossil! It died!! LOL
I got a new computer...got it setup late lastnight...then had to cross my fingers and do a magic spell to get my laser driver to install on the Vista operating system...even though the printer is only a few years old...I had read and heard about all of the driver nightmare stories...after downloading a driver and trying my install disk many times...waahhhlaaaahhh it installed..YAY!!

Hey Teresa, I'm not crocheting a thing these days..finished the rug hooked heart two weeks ago..need to get pics on my blog...I'm working towards opening my second blog soon...scanning stuff from my collection...there's no way in this lifetime I'll ever do anything with all of it so I'm going to share it....Lots of stuff planned for making some $$$ along the way but TONS of stuff for free to inspire your next project. Now that I've got a computer that doesn't lay down and scream several times a day..I'm making progress!

Congrats on the new computer Steph. Mine is from 2003 so I'm expecting to have to replace it shortly. No desktop either~I want a laptop/notebook or whatever they're called anymore and regain some space. I need to start saving $$ for that since you never get advance notice~one day it works, the next it's gone. Well, my horoscope (and the weathergal) says it's a good day for travel so I'm heading north.

Good morning! Stephanie, I laughed when I read your question. How do I keep the girls from trashing their hen house? Well, it's pretty easy actually. I go out every morning and clean up the poop. I have aspen shavings on the floor, in the nest boxes and on the roosting shelf. Sooo, when something drops below, it is very easy to clean up! Not that they don't have messes that are a bit more difficult to clean, mind you. For those I keep a container of paper towels soaked in water and vinegar and clean up with those. I have a little whisk broom that I bought for a quarter at a yard sale and I sweep the dust off things with it once a month. Really, the hen house is so tiny it's a snap to keep clean. I think the girls appreciate it. Yeah, right. Anywho- I made a tiny quilt and have it posted on my blog. (Just to keep in the theme of the thread.) Have a great day, everyone. I rather like coming by here.

Hi guys! I am in school and have lunch now. One of my seventh graders loves to come in and clean during lunch. Today he is stapling papers for me. How cool is that?
How cute to see you all saying goodnight to me!! Like the Waltons. I love it.
Jess: Your dog will not be crated forever, but sometimes they actually like being in the crate. Dogs are naturally cave dwellers after all. Owning dogs is the best.
See you later!! Gotta go and get some lesson plans done. Test prep for two weeks.
Oh, I sorta want to learn how to knit. Is it really hard? Do I really need another addiction!?
