okay yes my kids teachers love em. I love the school, so I am happy I found it. At any point it becomes too expensive, home they will come so I have to figure that out if that happens.

one of my kids did not have school today, so I only had 3 home for a couple hours, so fun, we are binding books we are making

There you are, Ruth!! YAY!

-----

Sheryl, yes you CAN wear an owl hat. I'm so glad you had children ready to be back in class..that's great!

I'm already having "out of the box" problems with computer..this is my first time to ever buy one off the shelf..always have a computer shop build them for me...it's flickering and rebooting out of the blue for no known reason and just discovered that my printer driver must not have installed properly because I can print but it will not recognize something to scan in...good grief....I think it's gonna wind up getting returned and off to the computer shop where I should have started....aaaaccccckkkkk!!!!

Carol Sue, I think the booklets I have with aprons are the ones you have to take to have enlarged or use graph paper...there will lots for Scrapbookers, Mixed Media artist to collect to use in cloth, paper projects...I've got some neat quilt patterns from a booklet so it's gonna be varied mix of stuff.

We have Vista on this computer, Steph. A bit of a pain with sending documents, etc. to those without it!! It's not too bad now though since you can change them to whatever the recipient needs.

Ok, I will acknowledge passion, passion, passion. Hmm, sounds spicy. I like it.

Thanks for the quilty love. :) Autumn- The girls poop in the hen house at night while they are roosting. Only Blanche sleeps in a nest box (crazy chicken) but I just pick out the poop she leaves behind early in the morning. That way there is no chance of eggs being laid in muck and it is not very much anyway. Now Hazel, well, she's another story! ha ha That chicken must wait all day until she gets in the hen house and then- wham! The nest boxes are inside, they roost on top of them at night either on the ladder or the shelf that hangs on the wall. Blanche has been inside all day today, sitting on one egg and really giving me heck each time I opened the door. I finally just picked her broody-self up and put her outside. She was not happy.
Oh, Stephanie- I need to keep a low profile with the girls since I am not technically allowed to have them. Stupid law, but that's the way it is. I share the eggs with my neighbors and they are all fine with them being here, but I don't think the county would understand the wonder of having a flock of "rebel hens" in the back yard. One day I will change all of that. Until then, well, I'm not going to stir the pot. lol
I'm off to cook dinner. We're having chicken. ;)

Oh gosh, Karin, sorry...thought you and your henhouse were published in MJF magazine??

Ruth, I know it...those Owl hats are just precious...when you're done making them as gifts they would sell I'm sure! I love one of a kind stuff.

Steph- I have Vista too...doesnt cause me any bother, except for the "one click" to open a program..that can be annoying, and for all I know, there may be a way to change that...

Vista was not compatible with the software for the Bernina, didn't matter when I bought it, but then we got the new puter with Vista. I haven't take the time or effort to find out, but surely they got a fix for it. It will sew just fine anyway, I'm sure :)

The hen house was in the Raising Jane issue. But, fortunately for me, the readership in our area was not widespread. In other words, the count commissioners don't read MaryJane's Farm! lol Now that it is behind us, I am just working to get that silly ordinance changed so that more people can have chickens. If I moved to a piece of land with three acres, there would be no problem at all. Really, if you take care of them, they don't smell and if you don't have a rooster, they are much quieter than dogs! Carol Sue- I'm glad that you have legal chickies!!
Ruth- I love your owl hats! They are adorable and so are you.

ok before i read page 640 i must ask ruth to make me some owl hats.

Ruth-my girls have fallen in love with those hats and so have i? so what do you want to barter.

and i wish we would have had school today the kids are itching to go, i think they just want out of this house. i mean there is only so long you can stay in a little over 900 sq ft before getting on eachothers nerves. usually they can go outside but the snow has gotten way to deep to be a lot of fun.

So far today the computer has not done anymore of the rebooting for no reason. It's the driver issue that is causing the headache...have left my issue on a tech support forum...waiting for someone to take pity on me and tell me step by step how to resolve it..

We're on an acre, all I recall reading was no swine, but the neighbors had a hog when we moved in. they made a point to tell us they'd asked the rest of the neighbors-kids won it at the fair. Baxter...and it broke my heart when I saw them loading him up for market. Man, he really did fight it, but then had likely never been out of the pen since he was tiny. I'd make a lousy rancher/farmgal if I had to eat what I raised.

this is horse property, but Larry would never agree to any farm animals, so will love the dogs and be happy to have them. He wouldn't come look at this house for nearly a year cause there were horses next door. He was raised with them, had his own when he was a little kid until it finally died of old age. I told him to put up a higher fence and not look at them. No horses or chickens next door now and I kinda liked having them around. No mice here, they stayed where there was feed.
