Teresa- Yeah...I usually freestyle(do that on gourds too...and well a lot of stuff)...cut my pieces as I went...and sketched my cupcake directly on the muslin, and went from there...for no exact idea of what I was going to do...I think it turned out fantastic! gonna get better pics tomorrow, and decide then if I'll keep it or sell it...going back and forth on that...

Nay great job on the cupcake quilt Tina you should be proud of her she does a great job.
Yep, was almost there tonight, hubby went......and I walk into the bathroom and get sprayed in the face, now I know I needed a face wash, but dang that was a bit more than refreshing. So I am trying to pin the spot while gettiWng sprayed so hubby can locate and fix it. x marked the spot, by then it was 6pm and he had been after these little buggers since 8am, so we called it a day, after he had that one fixed. He found one more joint that needed fixing. So tomorrow we pray pray pray that is the last one, wrap it all up with heat tape again and pray we don't have anymore challenges. When spring and summer comes we are going to have to do some replaceing. The guy that thought he was so smart before, and made a muck mess, they are starting to let go and wow, what a mess. There are more fittings under our poor trailer than you can shake a stick at.....grin.
So girls, keep praying, crossing your fingers and whatever else it takes, so close......
Now you want the adventure for the night, I am starting to write this post and all the sudden I hear our cat spitting and hissing and majorly having a fit, the hair on his back is raised, then I see this cats paw coming through my floor board by the pipes that we are fixing.....holy crap....my cat goes nuts and so does the one under our mobile and the cat fight is on.....my dogs are barking like crazy, howling and spitting cats ugly girls, just plain ugly....hubby goes outside covers up the access, hopefully that will be the end of that one for the night. Buster's tail is still sticking out, won't be picking him up anytimes soon.....ahhhhh never a dull moment here......lol..........night

Carol Sue...your life is never dull.
Up early this morning....laundry, changing bed linens, etc.
I did not sign up for the tea cozy exchange, but I am going to try to put one together to match my mini tea quilt. That is today's project. I have no pattern, but am going to try an idea I have. If it works out I will put a tutorial on my blog....don't hold your breath. I have had a few "good" ideas in the past that ended up in file X.
Cold and windy here today...hoping for no precip so they can get the logs on the second story....fingers and toes crossed yet another day....no wonder I had painful toes last night while sleeping (arthritis...yikes!)
Have a great day, gals.
Oh yea, Nay...adorable cupcake quilt! So cheerful.
Everyone....be careful on the ice!!! We want no broken bones this winter.

Jess~Glad to hear the van is fixed. Did you get the snow you wanted?
It is actually sunny here today. Ice storm yesterday was horrible.
Sheryl-lyn~I hope hubby's back is better. That is no fun.
Naomi~That quilt is too cute. I love it. What a great job.
Steph~You will just need to use your creative mind to picture the beauty of your cabin right now. I hope you can get in there soon.

Autumn- I am so sorry. Jess- Your kids are absolutely adorable in their owl hats! I love them. Glad your van is better. Naomi- Beautiful cupcake quilt! I don't like patterns much either. Birds of a feather! Sheryl-lyn- Ouch! Your poor hubs. He really needs to rest his back. Carol Sue- Flippin' heck! Being spurted in the face would have sent me over the edge. Hope you get all of those little nasty leaks fixed today. And the cat fight on top of it? Gee whiz. Uh, could someone give Carol Sue a break? Rats, now I forget who wrote about bamboo batting. I love that stuff! Can't afford it but just gaze at the package and covet it at the quilt shop. I'm such a dork. Hope you all have a lovely day. Oh, and while you are all waiting for Spring, I am waiting for Winter! It has gotten a bit chillier here today, but still sweater weather. I need an excuse to stay inside and read books all day! Just one little snow storm is all I ask for! Just one. :)

whooo hoooo supposed to be 63 here today!! Cats are going outside to the kitty korral. I sat down last night and decided to experiment with making an Owl Hat. Well, the darn things are addictive and I couldn't stop until it was finished. (on my blog) I did a variation~he's a Western owl, Ruth's is an Eastern. If you want an Owl Hat, go here: http://farmgirlinmyheart.blogspot.com/ I highly recommend them ~ they make you feel smarter....lol

Morning all! We had some snow overnight so I went out to move my van for the snowplow guy, and it wouldn't start. The brand new battery cables aren't in the car, and I have a new battery so it can't be that. The snowplow guy says maybe it is the alternator, and steam is starting to come out of my ears. Called the car polace, they just came and picked it up, it was making funny noises anyway and I had planned on taking it in...having been without it for three weeks I fooliishly assumed that it would be ok after the major repairs. Ho hum.
I have never heard of/seen bamboo batting, another thing to keep my eye peeled for. I love everything else made out of bamboo so I'm sure that is luscious stuff. I usually use warm and natural or the Heirloom 80% cotton,20% mystery blend. I have used wool, I love it, but it is very expensive, and you would be surprised how much weight it adds to the quilt. Extra warm, though, always a good idea around here....
I am grateful for a new blanket of snow, it certainly makes the landscape much more tolerable. As long as I get my driveway plowed I'm okay.
I found the huge piece of red fabric I need to finish the scrap quilt I've been putting together. I'm going to wash it this morning to see if it's a bleeder or not. I love red. For years I almost always put a red binding on my scrap quilts, my thought was a red binding always looks good on a scrappy. I have always wanted to make a red and white quilt and I know it is not possible. I can never stop at just two colors. Oh well, I can admire everyone else's.
Now that I have no car today i guess I should speed right up to the sewing room. Well, I have to wander around the forum for a little bit first.
The La Bellas look fabulous in those owl hats Bravo, Ruth!
Naomi, Your cupcake quilt is as cute as all get out, the colors are so pretty...
Steph, my eye doctor told me I was starting to get a cataract on one eye a couple years ago. I'm supposed to go in for a check up soon. My mother got cataracts when she was in her seventies I think. I hate driving at night if there are lots of lights, I'm fine on my own back country roads...we'll have to compare our cataract stories as they progress. Thank goodness the technology is so good these days.
Okay, I downed my handful of meds, time to get dressed and start moving around in some fashion.....

Karin, do me a favor and start posting quilt pics on your blog like you posted on this thread. Thread posts get so buried, but when I want a pickmeup I could go to your blog. Your use of color is so happy, uplifting and just plain fun I like to look at it for the eye candy. ;) Naomi, your cupcake quilt is fabulous!!!
