Bonne, if I knew what kind/size patterns you'd want, you know they'd be coming your way. I didn't know Jess had used some of the patterns for the kids costumes, but happy that they were liked. With 8 kiddos and all to make, I figure she has more chance to use them than any of us.
Think whatever that bug was in my bod has gone away, thankfully. Stepmom will be in Reno tomorrow, would like to see her. Won't if I'm still yucky, none of those older ladies need to be getting sick. Heck, if I don't feel good, won't even go to work.
Larry slept almost all day, when I asked if he was sick he growled "no". guess just tired, not gonna ask. He ate dinner and went almost right to bed, as always.
Wow, had a couple things to do at Walmart and Butterball turkeys were 48 cents a pound. Can't pass that up, will cook it up and what we don't eat the dogs will surely get. Smaller ones, geese, ducklings and smoked turkeys were marked down too, but not as much. Wish I had more room in the freezer, would have bought several.

-----

Carol has water running out the way it's supposed to!!!! I'm am sooooo happy for you...I saw Spokane on the national news and saw the flooding...do y'all have a new river forming (yet)...that's the worst flooding I've seen..but they were saying a major amount of snow melted within hours.

flooding is worse on the west side of the state

and get this they had water for a little bit and another fitting is loose, poor mom she was so happy about having water and dad is exhausted with climbing under and fixing it. Its almost to the point of lighting a match and fanning fast to fix it if my dad had his way lol

Just not fair, with all they have endured, for the water to still be leaking. Enough to make even patient people go nutso. They both need big hugs from me.

LFD ~ Oh, I'm always whipping it out to nurse a kiddo. Almost 5 years straight (got a 4 month break during one of my pregnancies). Gotta have a low neckline here.

I'm just in awe of you gals that are quilting and making clothes and such... Hopefully I'll get into the clothing making stuff at some point. Gotta concentrate on other stuff right now. At least until my clothes start falling apart and I can't find nice looking things that fit me right. I totally love the Amy Butler fabrics... one of my mei tais has some AB fabric on it, and I always drool and pet it at the quilt shop.

Has anyone seen the flooding over in western Washington?
http://www.king5.com/video/?z=y&nvid=319793

I've got family and friends over there. There's a stretch of I-5 that has 10 feet of water over it. Ten feet! Insanity. Not sure if the rivers have crested yet, either. One of the friends is pretty much boxed in for the next week or so because she has 2-3 rivers surrounding her there in town.
So much for the memorial service for my dad in Seattle - no one can get there at this rate - from this side of the state (passes are all still mostly closed) or even that side of the state. My mom'd have to detour up through Canada to even get there. Oy.

Lanna, yes, I saw that section of I-5 on the national news! just aweful, scary!!

Yes, I'm a fan of Amy Butler fabrics too. My local quilt shop went out of business a few months ago sadly...I can't walk in and pet it anymore..but I do have some in my stash! Just would like to see ALL of her fabrics in person.

Pant, pant....finally caught up from yesterday.

Karin.....WOW those quilts are amazing...we sure have a lot of talent on this thread...I second the idea...YOU should be making some clothes to sell. I will send you my size (LOL)...Actually, Bonne...I am sending you my size (LOL)!

Carol Sue and Theresa..hope your weather/water woes are soon over! Spring is coming..ok, well not too soon, but it IS coming...someday.

When Bonne gets stuck on something...she mass produces....I see flirty little dresses for all of us!!!

Ronna...glad you are feeling better!

Sheryl....woooohoooo for the college acceptance. BTW...Evelyn looks so much like her beautiful Mom!!!

Nay...you are on your way to producing great quilts like Karin!

Jess...sounds like a bunch of projects are just waiting for your creative touch...when the weather breaks. What fun a greenhouse would be for you.

Stephie...hope your aching feet are soon better! See you on the Ponderosa! LOL!!!

Lanna....you sound a bit like Jess...babies, babies, babies...oh I miss those days!

And to the rest of you...welcome, newbies...look forward to getting to know you better...and the rest...have a great day. Snow is headed our way tomorrow, so today will be a busy day. Gotta go buy a tub and shower to get to the construction site.....hope to sew at some point.

Bonne...you are inspiring me....I have not made any clothes since that Renn Faire costume last year....maybe I need to think about sewing some dresses.

those Renn Faire outfits were so fabulous! I wish that style would come back...but maybe with a little less fullness in skirts....I love them.

Bonne~I'm just a little anal at times. Don't want to mess up the minis. At this point they may come out looking like owls.

Karin~I love your quilts. Such talent!!

Sheryl-lyn~Congrats to your son. Such wonderful news.

Teresa~Love that dress you posted on your blog.

Carol Sue~Congratulations on the water.

I tried to behave and stay off the computer because I had hats to make. I have three more done. I can't wait to send them out.
Kids are working on school and I thought I would jump on quick and say hello.

Bonne~I can't wait to see the dresses. They are so gorgeous.

I love the things in Sarah Clemens Etsy. So comfy.

Linda~I love the quote on your signature line. Can't wait to see the dress Bonne makes you with your purple bloomers.

Ronna~I hope you feel better soon. I hate a yucky stomach.

Sharon~Tell your son to hold his horses. He can wait. I don't like being rushed either.

Jess~The windows sound awesome. I love old hardware. Can't wait to see what you make with them.

Good morning, sort of. I just got my car stuck in the driveway. I was supposed to drive to the health clinic I go to to pick up my pain prescription, this is their new policy, and I got my car stuck in the driveway. New slippery snow last night and I went out on a run to take some food to my son, who's been on a two week hiatus from work while repairs are being done. My car slithered off the driveway last night, that's the last of my good samaritan snow day runs....

Ronna, glad to see you are feeling a litttle better

Jess, OOh I am jealous, lots of windows with cool old hardware. I know you will create something fabulous with them.

When I was at art school my favorite costume book was an old Dover edition, A History of Costume, by Carl Koehler. No patterns, just lots of black and white photos. It is still one of my favorites. I have a book somewhere around here called The Medieval Tailor's Handbook (I think that is the name, it is out of print I know) that is one of my all time faves. I like long dresses, jumpers, etc. I remember my favorite jumper I mad by hand at art school was very dark blue wool, with all sorts of lace on it and little hand sewn tucks. Those were the days....

Thank you for your kind words about my quilts. I do love to make them, it is the finishing bit that weighs me down. Today I'll post a few pictures of some old repro ones I made years ago. I love the old simple quilts too.

Time to make some coffee....oh Carool Sue I hope there will be an end to your water problems. You must be at wit's end...

Karin
