Ruth, my dh is worse than my son. Well, my son was rushing because since we are going through things, the living room is the sorting place. He wanted to have someone over, but that wasn't going to happen. Now with dh, I don't rush him in getting things done. I used to have a daycare in the home, but after I ended the daycare, dh took over the patio. Patio? Is there a patio there somewhere?

I want to see pictures of the Renn Faire costumes, Bev. I missed out.

Carol Sue~I am so sorry to hear you are still having trouble. How horrible. Sending you a big hug!!!

I need to start making my own clothes. I am never happy when I go shopping and it always seems the things I like have outrageous prices.

I love Amy Butler. We used to have a Fabric Place here and they sold her fabric but not anymore. There isn't anywhere around here to get her fabric. I can't go and drool over and pet it at the fabric store.

Gotta go correct my son's math paper.

Ok, Bev knows me well. I'll be mass producing retro dresses for Spring, but you have to be my size (10-12)
because I don't sew well for others. I can gauge if something will fit me, but am lost for sewing for others.
I sewed most of my clothes in high school, so that's what I know best. Now I'm looking at the same patterns I probably
OWNED back then! lol What I want everyone to do is start looking for patterns that will work for Jessica's plan to funktify her wardrobe.( similar to this~ http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5974867 ) If you see any linen blend solid fabrics on sale, give us a heads up. Easy boxy jackets/simple jumpers/pullover sundresses/wide leg pull-on pants for bloomers~any of these patterns in your stash you aren't using?

Wow! Jess and Bev, you look so fabulous in your renfair costumes. It is inspiring me to make something. Of course I won't make something so elaborate because when you are old and fat like me, it takes a bit of thinking to poan out something that doesn't look like a tent exhibit....guess this means it is time to clear off my cutting table.

I am glad the sun is out. I did post a few more quilts on my blog...too much fun...

Bonne, I hope you do make a swirly dress, it would look so good on you, and of course you'll inspire someone else...

Well, I think Jess needs to be our secretary...did you see how quickly she found that page with the Ren Faire outfits???? Amazing. So, you see, girls, we have been at this for almost 2 years...it is like a running history of our lives....do I see movie material here? Sort of like a "Sisterhood of the Travelling Aprons" type of film. Ha Ha!!!

Oh, Bonne....don't you think a size 8 would be just as easy?????Puuuuuleeeeaaase???? Actually, if you find a great pattern, let me know what it is and I will make a few for myself!

Well, I picked up a shower stall, drove it to the construction site...drove home...went to look at doors at a distributor...now I have to get to the grocery store for provisions....snowstorm headed our way. Then gotta pack up another tub/shower unit and food for the weekend and head back to the farm. Boy I cannot wait til this back and forth stuff ends and I can just plant myself firmly on the farm for good!!

Yes, secretary would be too much. I am just so grateful that you are the emergency picture poster, Jess.

Sheryl-lyn, congratulations on your son getting into college. I'm going to go look at your blog anad see how many more quilts you have made.

Jess I was peeking on your blog and saw the fundraiser quilts you made, extremely cute. I remember seeing a picture somewhere of maybe Carmen, in a brown cloak holding a bunny. Do you know where thaat picture is (jeez now you have to be the picture finder too) ? I would love to see it again...
Ok. back to laundry patrol, K.

Bev, I'm looking to make something from vintage patterns. The trouble with that is finding one that fits you as the sizes changed from decade to decade (and varied by pattern company!)and if you cut something out of expensive fabric, that's a gamble. I tried a '68 pattern in a size 14 that fits me perfect. I'm not a 14 in today's patterns though, like I said between 10-12, so you have to swallow your ego when sewing with vintage patterns and go bigger. The older they are, the bigger you go. shoot, I've got several A-lines(patterns) from the late 60's that I absolutely love the cut of. Do them sleeveless and they are fabulous summer dresses. I had to search Ebay for weeks to collect them all though~that was fun. "Mod" is the search word that will take you to 60's styles. 50's patterns are more expensive to get, and the only ones I have are the shirtwaist June Cleaver styles, not the zippy cute styles I'd like to find~probably already scooped up by collectors, damn them. McCalls has a cute 60's aline out now. http://www.mccallpattern.com/item/M5799.htm??tab=whats_new&page=1 See all those front and back darts? That's what showed off a figure nicely. Can't go wrong with this type of Aline IMO. Looks good on anyone.

Jess is amazing with the way she seems to know where things are and she finds what you need.

Bonne~I don't know how to add those cute little pictures to my sig line. Where do you find them?

I would love some vintage patterns. I am hoping to one day walk into a thrift store and just find a box of them there. Wouldn't that be wonderful.

You all remember that 50s dress I made? The pattern was a size 12(so of course it will fit!...*snort*)
......while making it...I got stuck in the top of it....mom almost had to rip me out of it....rofl...more like a size 6....but after adding some little side panels, it fit!....All thanks to my sewing teacher!...now I check before I cut anything out...rofl...
Modern patterns say I'm a 12-14...eep...but I wear a 8-10 off the rack.
