Here's a random question. Anybody grown their own cotton? I'm in seed dreaming mode, and came across cotton seeds the other night and started thinking about it. Not exactly sure what I'd do with it, but I thought it might be fun for the kids. If we had a decent enough season to actually grow with this year... I think I just found yet another thing to research. Oops.

Bonne, I'm sure you already have some red heels to go with a swirly dress, some of those patterns are great.

Very cold here, couldn't start my car this morning , and it was stuck in a snowbank. but fortunately my son and his pals came and got me out of trouble. I get to go buy prescriptions, I lead such an exciting life. At least the sun is shining and my son is out spreading de icer on my driveway.

I posted a few more quilts on my blog. That is turning into an addiction for me i think. And I realized I don't have pictures of a lot of my quilts. Another item for my to do list...

Right, time to make some coffee...

((autumn)) I'd fail at public speaking too, but I agree with Jess.

Ok, Hobby Lobby didn't have ANY "New Look"s, but Walmart does. $3.44
add NewLook 6468, and 6789 to the list. Bev, Naomi and Teresa~get thee to Walmart~I know
that doesn't sound glamourous, but they've got the patterns.:)

Afternoon, ladies! I have to go back and read about eight pages! You sure are prolific writers!!
Anyway, I posted a pic of Ainslie's Christmas quilt on my blog. Plus, since there is only 1 post until I hit 100, I am going to hold a giveaway. It will be sweet, I promise.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Hello Ladies,
All this talk of clothes has me longing to make my own. I haven't made anything for me before. I did for the kids. I will have to check out the patterns at Walmart. I am a size 5 and could use some of those older patterns. Still waiting to find a treasure of them at a thrift.
We are expecting some snow here today. It will probably start tonight. We have an anniversary party to go to tomorrow. Don't know what will happen with that.
Autumn~Praying for you. Definitely not an easy thing.
Carol Sue~Yay! water!
Stephanie~I love the Stampington magazines. I have a collection of some older issues. I can't wait for Apronology.
Bonne~You have us all wanting to sew our own clothes.

Size 5 disgusting!! lol Ruthie, you REALLY need to be sewing these patterns to show off your tiny shape!
No crafting stuff at Walmart~even more disgusting!! I noticed that the center aisles that used to house fabric at mine were empty though~matter of time.....
Northern Karin and Southern Karin BOTH have some stunning quilts.

Karin in Georgia, The quilt you made for your daughter is so sweet. I love all the colors. Just wanted to mention how cute your chickens and your
kitty are.

My car was extricated from the snowbank thanks to martin and his pals. I thought we were going to get just snow showers tonight, but someone at the pharmacy said the forecast now is for eight inches of snow....

Steph, I'm going to post a few pictures of some of the wall hangings i sold last year. "
We used to have this wonderful quilt store in town, beautiful fabric and lots of interesting things made by local artisans. This year she had to move her store because the rent golt so high, now she's located at the end of a dirt orad, not exactly a great location. I picked up some stuff I left with her last summer, I think I'll try some of it on etsy. But I just wanted to show you my goofy owls...

Oh! I found a crochet book at a goodwill store the other day and it shows how to tat with a needle and a crochet hook. I may try that out, it's always fun to find these little treasures even if they smell a bit mildewed.

Off to post the owls, I had forgotten about these, and wqas pleasantly surprised to see them again...

Oh girls you do have me wanting to sew myself something more feminine for the summer, I have been more a tshirt and jeans girls, throw in a couple of sweat pants. Yep, not exactly the belle of the ball. But shall have to go check out some of those patterns Bonne.....

Ruth, wow girl a 5, I don't think I have seen that except for a brief period in junior high....lol

Gosh have to go check blogs and patterns today...grin.
Having water sure is making life a bit easier, now the phone line is back on in my sewing room and living room, yep that got wiped out when water did, have been doing it from my bedroom which was a pain, to say the least, but I had to keep up somehow....lol. Now all we have to do is get the bathtub back in later this afternoon. We are taking breaks and naps so we can have the energy to get it in. We are going to be very stylish with our surround around the tub, it will be an old shower curtain.....lol. Need to get some more materials to do it right and then realized don't want to do that because this spring we will be changing over to apex piping. So will have to deal with that look for a while, hmmmm, will just have to decorate.....lol. You know us girls, creative in every part of what we do. So so so so very very thankful for water.
Most of all, thank you each one for letting me vent and encouraging me on days I just wanted to bawl and bawl and bawl, you keep me laughing and going. Thanks girls, you are the best ya know.....

Lanna, I am going to try to grow some cotton this spring! I am going to use it for spinning! I was able to pick cotton in the fall and I have quite a few bags, but I would really like to grow my own! It would probably be neat for the kids to see though! The pods that it grows in dry out and open up and it's really neat to see how much cotton comes out of one pod!

Bonne, I love the clothes from the etsy site you put up! I can't believe how many she has sold since June!!! and they are not cheap! I now, along with everyone else, am wanting to start sewing some clothes! Come to think of it, I honestly can't remember the last time I made something for myself!!

Have you been spinning lately? I just got 7 pounds of wool from Sarita and I am in fiber heaven, but I still need to get carders!

No, I haven't been spinning at all. I'm knitting and crocheting these fast afghans and using up a ton of yarn that I'd already had. My mission this year is to use up my stashes~(hahahaha!) So far I'm doing well on the yarn, and somewhat on the fabric~working on that. Hubs is sure loving all this talk about perky summer dresses, so any of you that want to put a spark in your marriage, just go out and get one of these patterns and see what happens~LOL Seriously, what guy wants to see his gal in jeans and T-shirts all the time? I'll guarantee you that you'll get attention. ;) I'm also doing marriage counseling on the side. (ROFL)
