i love my serger. The only thing I hate is threading it! The way products look when finished with it, is super. What do you serge, Jess?

I looove my serger...got mine in April too...threading it can be a pain...but now, it isn't too bad, except the part I have to use the tweezers...rofl...

Karin, oh my, the owlies are so whimsical..it's like they are calling my name. One day I must have a try at appliquing an owl..I can only hope it would as whimsical as yours. Keep uploading..it's a real treat for me to look at such eye candy. Such exciting energy in them!
Ouch to Lexi!!! Take care of that head.
My serger is right where she is supposed to be...I love my serger too.
Bonne, For the wintertime try walking through with a fairy shawl on and nothing else...

hmmmm, page 666. Karin in ME...how long have you been quilting? So many, so beautiful and/or cute. Please let us know if you do put any on Etsy, I just might have to purchase one from you. Kept busy all day here, can't slack off when the war dept is home...though he's hardly been outside other than the morning walk with the dogs. He actually even opened his Christmas gifts instead of waiting until March or April this year. He was changing channels and I told him he might have some new movies to watch if he opened his presents. So hard to buy anything for someone who buys whatever they want all year long. Autumn, I feel you'll speak from your heart and do your friend justice in speaking at her service. No one will notice if you're nervous or uncomfortable. Steph, sorry you had nearly all those old patterns already. Will have to do specific lists so neither of us wasting postage next time. When you have the time and room for doing it, which we know will be awhile. Have some ideas for doing the mini aprons and hope they will work out like I imagine. Larry will leave here on the 26th, not sure if I'll have them sewn but surely cut out and ready by then. Ouch for Lexi, scary to be injured. She appears to be one who won't be 'gun shy' after this, probably more determined to kick butt next time! I was always terrible at any sports, never has changed. |

Poor Lexi, but I'm sure she's thrilled her team won both games. Children are so resilient, but it is harrowing for the parents when these things happen. I felll asleep around eight and now am up at 1 a.m.. Not a good schedule for me. There is no sign of snow yet, so perhaps I'll escape that scenario. The snowplow guy makes lots of money when we have a tough winter, and being the old New Englander that I am, I hate giving him so much money for five minures work... I went upstairs with my mini apron fabric in hand, but I guess now i will wait until tomorrow before I attempt any sewing.
Ronna, i have been quilting for a long time, started in my twenties, but not totally sucked into it until the past ten years or so. I have always loved to sew and patchwork is very appealing to me. I love to hand quilt, but it takes so long to finish a whole quilt. I like tied quilts too, you get to use a fluffier batting and they are so snuggly. I love to read the state quilt history books, the wonderful stories of the people who made quilts and their adventures . I know some wonderful machine quilters and when I have extra money for it, AI love getting them done. I am not a machine quilter, I just get too stressed and my muscles seize up, so I leave that to the professionals.
Time to read for a bit, I think. And listen to my cat Hector snoring, it's very soothing actually...

Autumn, you will do fine...but I do know what you mean..so when you start speaking just think of it as a way to speak to her instead of the group, ya know?
Wally World near me is closing their fabric/notions department in June.
Carol Sue! get those shoes on your feet woman..
Ronna, you know you've got a huge selection when you keep saying "I already have that one"...LOL It was very kind of you to mail those to me so I could see if any would find their way into the collection.. I can imagine all of the patterns in those lonely tote bags....just waiting for someone to pet them!
Hope Caleb is feeling better....

I will keep trying...Thomas says I'm a tiny little lady...I keep telling him he should have seen me when I was size 5...LOL

Jess, So sorry to hear about Lexi. I hope she is doing better today.
Teresa~Sorry to hear Caleb is sick. Hope he feels better soon.
Bonne~My mom was always tiny until she turned 40. She was 36 when my sister was born and in two months weighed only 96 pounds. I know I only have a couple of years left until the pounds start catching up with me.
Carol Sue~Sorry to hear about the continued water troubles.
Karin~I love the owl quilts. So cute!!!
I have an anniversary party today. Not too much snow here. I didn't feel like going out but oh well~gotta go. I'd rather be making owl hats. Ruth

Gals, my oldest son discovered a hummingbird nest in our ash tree. Now, I never have seen one until today. The mother is easily disturbed if we are working in the yard, but while standing still, the mother bird came back and was feeding her young. Such a site to see. Also, dh called me out to the garage. We have a parakeet in the garage.
I rescued our arborvitae today. Dh said that the bush needed to be cut back. Well, dh said that all that would be left would be the trunk. Of course, I put my foot down. This is after all in the front yard, so dh told me to go ahead and trim the bush, so that it would be the way that I want it. Dh did do some trimming, but we now have a nice trimmed arborvitae. I just got word to go back outside and check. Dh is trimming where I already trimmed. Aye, Aye, Aye.

Not a "summer print", but there will be some others in the works. I'd been saving that fabric for something, but didn't know what. Didn't want another apron, so figured I could squeeze a dress out of the 2 yds I had.
I mixed up a batch of "mother" today for the artisan bread from MJ's latest mag I bought a sack of the King Arthur organic flour it calls for this morning~over $6 for a sack of flour. This better be good~lol
