Where's that dang Treading Along thread I started. That's where you need to go, Ruthie, to learn about treadles.
I'm trying to find it.
Here it is:

Ok....I want the little German machine...toooooo cute!! As for the sewing machine tables....I have to get rid of furniture as it is...with the moving coming. I think the treadles that I have will do. But thanks for thinking of me Bonne!! Always keep your eyes open for me...you just never know!!

Well, went up to the farm...checked on construction...ran to the log home place to pick a finish for my inside log walls....to go with hardwood flooring that we picked. Ok, I am getting so excited! Then on the way home, got a call that the people that have looked at our condo twice want to stop at 4PM and measure for their furniture....I think they might be ready to sign on the dotted line...but I don't want to get ahead of myself and be disappointed.

Sewing??? Well, I think I will head up to my sewing room and work on the new chicken quilt wall hanging. I just SWAT teamed my house these past two hours....now it is sparkling.

Cell phones....Verizon here, too....we really could gab for free all day....now is there a way to do conference calling X 10???? That would be quite something.

Seriously, I do want to eventually (when we are moved) plan a get together at the farm like I had wanted to do last summer....it just was too hard to plan with living in two places. But now that we will be only on the farm.....I would love to have company! So, if you ever think you want to visit the beautiful rolling hills of Central PA.....please plan on visiting Bee Haven Acres! (treadles are not mandatory...as they are hard to pack!) However, this is why we all need featherweights. Have machine will travel!

Oh, yes, Featherweights! That's another machine I always search CraigsList for. Hoping for someone that's not "in the know" about them. ;) Someday!!

Bonne, I looked on the coverage map and you've got 3G service. You can go into a local store and they have a laptop setup for you to try out the 3G speed. I had Thomas's laptop with the 3G aircard sitting next to my computer with the cable broadband service and the 3G isn't much slower..in fact, page changiing seemed as fast or faster...how weird is that since technically the upload and download speeds are much lower than regular highspeed......When downloading or uploading you will see a difference....but hey, for me it meant avoiding dialup! It's great! Weather you have a laptop or desktop you can use the aircard....all the new computers come with the wireless hardware that's needed.

Hey Ronna, that's great to know you have Verizon too! YAY...anyone else on the network??

Oh noooo. Bonne's pushing Craiglist again...LMAO I'm afraid it will be my friend too whenever we get moved permanently.....along with every other junk shop I can find.

Bonne~Love the one with you in the bonnet.

Bonne, I just emailed you, twice, one picture each time, because I'm so extra bad at posting things, and I am seeking your opinion on two machines, I think I sent you the right thing so you can see it. My daughter says I have adult onset Down's syndrome when it comes to the computer...

Yeah, you can get treadles cheap because people don't know what to do with them anymore. Some folks think they've got some massive antique value, but they were mass produced by factories, not "handmade", so I don't consider them terribly "valuable" just because they're old. The most I paid for a treadle was $100, and that's because of the drawing room cabinet it was in, AND the fact I was early into the game at the time. Now, I'm talking a year and a half ago. That's how long I've known about treadles and between Jessica and reading online is how I learned.

http://denver.craigslist.org/bar/992600356.html look at this. Came across this because it had "treadle" in the description.
Learn something new everyday~cowboy guitars. All handmade~now that would be an awesome antique some day.

Interesting story about how the first cowboys were Scottish drovers, from his website.
http://davidsmythgang.com/

You know when you think about it, $650 is pretty cheap for a handmade musical instrument.
Not like I'm buying one though. I'll have to see if my rich rancher bf will get me one. lol

Well, I 've thoroughly cleaned the bathroom. Took down the window curtain and threw it in the wash, washed the window and blind, took down the shower curtain and scrubbed, gave everything a good scrubbing, washed the floor and now I'm just waiting for the curtain to come out of the drier.

I think i deserve some play time now.

Of course, it's 5 pm here and soon supper will need to be made. I need the cooking fairies to come visit me.

Bonne and Jess~You are too funny. That is a nice instrument and worth the money. My brother has spent that and more on guitars for himself and his son.
