Ooooooh, sorry to hear Caleb is still sick...Hugs to you both!

Autumn, that wall hanging is sweet....I am sure she will love it. And for Tuscan look....well you picked just the right veggies! What a kind thing for you to do....the funeral speech. I knew you would do a great job.

Finishing quilting my chicken wall hanging today...will post. Thinking about cutting out another dress....shorter version.

Sounds like you have all of your rolls filled for the Wizard of Oz, Sherl. I always wanted to be Glinda and wear a pink gown! Here is somebody on Etsy who has made her gown...
http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=9309283

Sheryl, I love that quilt! It is so bright and happy!! You absolutely amaze me! Yay Ken...what a great guy!

Ronna.....I would love to try the sourdough, but I am always afraid it will grow like crazy and take over my whole house...like the BLOB!

Well, have a great day, all.

Ronna~I want some starter, too. Ppppplllllleeeeeeaaaaassssseeeeee. Can you hear the whine.

Autumn~That is such a cute table topper. What a great idea. I am sure your daughter in law will love it. I'm glad to hear all went well today at the service.

Sheryl-lyn~I want to be the scarecrow. The slippers were silver in the original book for the Wizard of Oz only red in the movie.

Stephanie~OMG! A blog for treadles!!! That would be great!!!! Now Jesse and Bonne get busy.LOL

I have a bread machine my mom bought me. I have never made bread without it. I wanted to try but am always leary that it will come our crappy. Hard enough to break someone's head.

It is very cold here today. They have closed all the schools and we are supposed to get some snow. It won't go above freezing from now until next Wednesday. Tomorrow the high is 15. They canceled our coop classes for today. I was glad because I wasn't looking forward to going out in this weather. Although, there is a book I want to pick up at AC Moore and I have a 50% off coupon. I don't know if I will.
I am trying to get this woodstove roaring to warm up this house. We are only doing a couple of subjects of school since all the schools are closed. It's only 10 am and ds is already done. Yippee!!
Gotta go~laundry calling.

Ok....I am really sad...my embroidery machine is sick. It is making a terrible clicking and won't pick up the bobbin thread....makes a horrendous mess on the back of the fabric. I called the quilt shop that sold it to me...and have to take it over to them. Oh my...I am going to have withdrawal. This is the machine that I use for everything (except free motion quilting. My poor machine.......

Teresa, Hang in there! I know exactly what you mean! It never ends around here either! I will be praying that Caleb gets better quickly and that you get some rest!

Do you all realize we only have 12 pages to go to hit 700!!!!! We could be there by tomorrow morning!

Ruth, You have to try bread! It may come out wonderful, but you won't know if you don't try! I have a bread machine, but I use it mostly to mix the dough for french bread and I finish it by hand and I mix pizza dough in it!

I hope everyone has a wonderful morning! Stay warm!

Bev. I know what you mean. My machine is in the shop. It must be that time of the year when our machines need a break or need their annual check up.

I am off to see my mom today. I went last Tuesday, but my mom was not herself. She had called me on Sunday to be sure to let me know what she needs before I head out there. I only go on Tuesdays. She is confused about what day it is. My mom has a bladder infection, and they nor my mom knew that my mom had the infection for a couple weeks or so. My mom was in extreme pain, so she requested morphine. Well, I am sure that it is the morphine that is causing my mom to act so strange. My mom is as sharp as a tack, so this is unusual. I requested the morphine to be stopped, because the antibiotics should have about cleared up the infection. I am positive this is what is causing her confusion and memory loss, plus her loss of appetite.
Can't wait to have my mom back to normal again.

Good morning, well I guess it is more like Hello, because I spend part of the morning listing things on etsy and then reading all the posts on this thread...

Teresa, sorry to hear your boy is still suffering, and old as I am I can remember all those sleepless nights when the kids were sick. Hope it resolves itself soon.

Autumn, I am glad to hear your friend's memorial service went so well.

I used to have a bread machine years ago, my ex husband gave it to me. I loved it, but it died. I do like making bread, I enjoy kneading it, I just have been such a bum about cooking the last couple years.

Okay, go peek at my etsy please...

Oh, my, look at all those tiny log cabin strips!!!
The Day of the Dead one should be scooped up by some collector out

As I mentioned, I got all my bread machines at the thrift store for cheap, which also
means NO MANUAL, so the best info I got on the basic process is here: http://hillbillyhousewife.com/breadmachinemanual.htm
If you want to get into the homey process of baking your own bread occasionally, that's great~it's a spiritual thing. But if you want a slice of fresh bread in 3 or 4 hours after putting in 5 minutes of measuring effort, fire up a bread machine.
I also have great love for any of the George Forman grills. Sometimes I want to slow cook things the old fashioned way, and sometimes I want to get a burger to hubs in 3 minutes before the bear really gets growling. Depends on your schedule and energy levels.

I like the ease of the bread machine, too. The best part is that the bread has always come out ok. I don't know if that would happen if I did it myself.

I have a George Foreman grill that my mom gave me. It's the one with all the different attachments. It works well. It's good when you want a burger in the middle of winter or anything grilled. It cooks it pretty fast, too. The log cabin strips are amazing.

Well, I ventured out in the cold and bought my book today. I can't wait to try some of the projects in it. They are great!!!! I will post pics. I got another order for an owl hat today. I am so excited.

Karen~gorgeous quilts. I am hoping they all get scooped up pretty fast. That handwork is amazing. How long does it take to make one? I can't even imagine for the large ones.

What the...??? That's not right, they usually hesitate if you holler "come in" , mostly for their own safety. Whaddicha get?!! Any more from Ronna? I hear she's been on a shipping tear~I see my mailman out there now~I better check for my starter today.

Haven't tried anything other than the grills, Diana, but anything "George Forman" is pretty good. Hubs likes how things turn out so that's all that matters; he's such a carnivore.

I have a panini maker that is like a George Forman....I love it...throw a couple of chicken breasts on it...it sears all the juices inside....makes them delish! Take that George Forman out of the box, Jess!!!

I think I would have had a stroke if my UPS man walked into my house! That is why it is great to have 2 huge hairy beasts!!

We are having record cold temps..not unusual for a lot of you ladies but for here it's not the norm...It was 9* when Thomas left at 5am this morning and it's only 13* right now at almost 2pm..through tonight into the morning we are expecting lows between 0 to -5.....eeeeeekkkk!!! Carol Sue, you are responsible for this..you finally blew some of that old man winter down south...hahaha
-----
Bev, They'll get your machine going quickly I bet....and the Decontructress Designs area fabulous...the Starry Night Fairy gown is outasight. The Glinda the good witch gown is perfect!

My UPS guy doesn't even slow down as he passes the driveway I have seen him toss things out in the general direction of my house. Of course it might be that the one time he did stop both my Newfoundlands got in his truck and ate all of his dog treats and his lunch.
