Oh I'm fine girls- just a bad day I guess. Too much introspection is not good!!!

I'm wearing the BIG dress today and I think it looks good. We'll see how I feel at the end of the day.

Jess is likely smooching with her hubby!!!! The kids ARE at school ya know!

Blessings,

Hello, I've been watching the forum all day for someone to come on.
Autumn...saying prayers for you.
Bonne...I love the way you think and empower us! Yes, our society sure needs to change in its respect for women.
Bless your Heart Autumn.....I think you'll feel better in time...it's all natural what is happening to you.

Oh, you're welcome Linda. The "mother" aspect is missing from most people's spiritual views.
That's kept women repressed for centuries~why have only MEN been so key in church hierarchies?
Why indeed? The universe is dual (male/female). Women in pre-Roman Europe were equals to their men.
Roman invasion changed all that. Yeah, we've got centuries of repression to recover from.

Ok, why O why isn't everyone on this thread signed up for Carrie's Apron Swap?? She's going to be so sad
if we don't all participate~might even quit visiting us. We don't want her thinking that Americans are party-poopers~ All we have to do is make 1 apron. 1 ! that's it!
We can do that! Get thee to this thread and sign yourself up~ http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=28618 you'll be glad you did!

Bonne~It is true that the mothers have been forgotten many times. We cannot forget how important a mother is in the lives of all those around her. How important her touch, attitude and love is~one day when they leave home those values that shape our future go with them.

"Selfcare" has always seemed to be against what mainstream society accepts and dishes out. I moved out of that mainstream tribe around age 40....had been fighting my whole life with issues that I did not agree with (BUT that was what was expected from most)...that's when I really defined my true identity and started the selfcare. There were many that didn't understand it and still are.

All women must build themselves from the inside out to find any sort of peaceful journey.

It must be being trapped like a rat in the two and a half feet of snow, but I got sucked into the apron swap too. It sounds delightful...I guess this will involve thinking, hmmm....

I posted one more thing on my etsy. That's about it from this neck of the woods, oh yeas and I am baking bread for the first time in a long time. I put currants and orange peel in, I figure it will make good toast. Smells good. I guess this means I should go check on it.

Autumn, sorry you are feeling kind of low, I think winter does that to us sometimes. You are such a talented woman, I always love looking at your blogs and your quilts are wonderful. I look forward to seeing your new dress. You look lovely in the one Bonne whipped out.

Jess, I hope things have calmed down a bit at your house.

Steph , I am struggling to get my minis done too, I don't know why this one is so tough, maybe because I wanted to go look at all the doodads at Jo ann's and find some little item to add. My driveway is plowed. My car is under two and a half feet of snow. But the stinker won't start. I have no where to go, but it drives me bonkers. You must be getting impatient to move...

Ronna, where are you? Hope all is well.

I really wanted to sign up for the apron swap and the farm animal block swap, but I have the play in March, the spaghetti dinner in February and the DC trip in March too. I did sign up for mini aprons and the tea cozy swap. I am so afraid of being behind on those two!!

Karin, I wish I could twinkle my nose and everything be moved..it's so hard to do something major like this when it's a 7.5 hour journey each way. But we'll get it done...may be on the heels of springtime but it'll get done...I try not to dwell on it...get up and live each day so I won't drive myself crazy(er) than I already am..LOL

hi girls..i'm here.

my hubs is home. he took care of as much as he could with it being a holiday. the pipe that broke at the condo was not in my unit, but my condo is flooded with extensive damage, and now insurance companies are all doing the dodge, so we will see what happens, if my plans for my house this summer are halted because i have to remodel over there, i am gonna really have words with someone.

john worked today even tho it was supposed to be a holiday, the kids were all home from school, i stayed in my cozy bed, just got up actually, so i am cleanin up and fixin dinner.

tonight john and i will clean up in our basement, then go get in those smooches.

i did get a really cool bracelet out of the deal tho.

ok sheryl, you can whip up some blocks and an apron, c'mon!

oh and ruth...when r u comin with that yummy dinner.......can't wait to see you!

thanks for thinking of me girls.

off to check blogs

Steph: Oh that is a lot of moving and then moving!! Long trip each way. Well, by this time next year, you will be all settled in and relaxed!!

Jess: It would be horrible if I did not get my stuff done, wouldn't it? I guess the kids can run the drama club by themselves. Hmmm...you know I want to join those swaps...

I actually do teach the kids to run the show! I have two assistant directors who are students and they do a good job. If the show goes to the other schools during the day, I can't always go, so the principal walks them over and they do the show themselves. It is awesome! I was over at the signup page for the apron swap, and sat there for a while to think about it. If I was not doing the minis, I would sign up for sure. Those minis are not easy for me to make!!

Jess, I think that things always go wrong when the dh is away. I am glad that he is back home and safe, and that you can get in some of that quality time with him.

Sorry about all your problems. I hope that you are feeling better.

Ditto, sheryl-lyn, on the mini's. Truthfully, I don't like making them, isn't that naughty? I'd be more enthused if we had a swap with a theme and just go with "anything handmade" staying to the theme. I'm "mini-ed out" after doing so many. I loved the Halloween Swap we did in 2007~all kinds of different goodies~that was so fun!

Plays are very time consuming though~for everyone involved~and it's time that's in addition to your already full day. Don't envy you there.

Well, I'm off to bake cookies & such tomorrow. Gave my son the grocery list so we'll be good to go. Another gawwwwwwwwgeous day tomorrow!!! Mid 60's!

After that terrible fall you had, you should be checked out. My left knee is bad when it just all of a sudden gave out during a tug of war game at company picnic. It hasn't been the same since.

There is nothing forgiving about solid blocks of limestone, that is for certain. My whole basement is giant blocks of limestone for our foundation....when you hit a wall like that, your body does not win.

Hey ho checking in before I catch up on the reading part

Sheryl-lyn-If you do production one step at a time it does go fast as Bonne said that was how I did it and it took 3 days but I didn't look back just mailed so don't expect perfection here. Lol

Jess- I bet you just hurt your knee again last nite due to hubby being home likely rug burn just use salve- woops did I say that outloud

Bonne-Enjoy your time with your son tomorrow and I like coffee with mine or soy milk
