Saints be praised!! I got Ronna's sourdough starter today!! Finally!
She mailed it priority and it took 8 frikin' days. It smells OK though and I fed him tonight.
My "mother" is going to be a "He". Think I'll name him "Zeb" after Zebulon Pike.

Sheryl-lyn, Can I come too!

Jess, Hang in there sweetie!

Too many pages to catch up on tonight and I have a dang headache so I guess the rest of this will be generic! I hope everyone has a great night!

By the way, we had chicken, home made noodles, corn and salad for dinner!

Gals, my Husqvarna machine is seriously sick. The shop has had the machine for a week. I received a call today. The caller said, "Why didn't you tell me that you were having trouble with the electronic screen." I was shocked because it was working. He told me that when he was trying the stitching, he selected a certain stitch, but then the stitch changed on the screen to something other than what he had chosen. He also told me that thread was wound up inside the machine near the knob on the right hand side, which melted, and that was most likely the reason for the screen problem. I don't know how much this is going to cost, but it isn't going to be cheap. It is less than getting a new machine. There are also a number of broken parts in the machine. I was literally in disbelief.

He is calling the company back tomorrow, because it will have to be replaced. He tried using a method that the technician from the company recommended but it didn't work.

Sigh.....There goes my money.

Bonne, Zebulon Pike...did he have anything to do with Pikes Peak? you can name it anything you want, it's your starter now :) I wasn't the least bit concerned about it being okay, just pissed that it took so long to get there. Damn mule trains sure are slow between Nevada and Colorado.
I been working, imagine that, so not home all day. Tomorrow's my Friday already. Starter for the rest of you won't go out until Friday or Saturday probably, sorry for my laziness.
Gotta take photos of the 3 ladies purses I found today. One beaded, one silk with embroidery and one German Sterling mesh, engraved on the inside rim with initials and the date December 25, 1910. They all came in together, never ceases to amaze me what people will donate to thrift shops. Mesh had an antique store tag with $210, they priced it at $50 and I had a half price card for everything. Beaded and silk are not pristine, but don't see any problem with the mesh one. My intuition kept telling me to stop there and I didn't know why until I saw those. 3 tiny wooden shoe forms too, love them. Also some great silk and suede dresses/jackets for $1 each. Oh, and two Land's End knit dresses for Jess' twinnies were 90 cents each. An old gum ball machine, cast iron with the glass top for $2.50. Will go on top of my kitchen cabinets with the other vending machines. Can't remember what else I found there, but was well worth me stopping. I hate to ignore when something tells me to go to a certain shop. Assistance League thrift shop was first stop and wonderful finds there too that I'll have to lay out and take pics when the other half is not here to growl at me.
Dinner was BBQ Beef, leftover from TriTip roast and my own sauce, fresh pineapple, green beans for him and corn for me (clean out the fridge with the leftover veggies).

Sharon, which Husqvarna do you own? I had a Rose, before I traded it for the Bernina. Sheryl-lyn has a Husqvarna too, don't remember which model.
I saw that the new Bernina is $12,000, expect the new Huskvarna is about the same..yikes!!!!!!
Hope they can get it fixed correctly for you. Is it still under warranty?

It was 23* with snow flurries here today..supposed to be 45* tomorrow and sunshine (I hope).

Ronna, it's a good thing the high dollar machines depreciate like a new car does...$12,000 for a new Bernina..let's see let me think of what I could do in the cabin with an extra $12,000..LOL....My Babylock Esante was over $5,000 way back in 1997...I saw one just like it on Ebay sell for $500 last year..in mint condition. Now Sheryl on the other hand...she needs to keep a trade in going on a regular basis the way she makes them smoke with the quilting. Let's see she also has a quilting machine too..well, they both get a good workout...we know that..

It's fascinating to watch the computer technology connect the machine to the laptop and desktops...I've got the uploader that plugs into my computer to download embroidery designs to a memory card that plugs into my machine...now the newer ones have the cd drives and connect straight to the computer...very cool, indeed...if I'd hit the lotto I'd own one of each....me being the gadget gal that I am!

"Where I want things for the rest of forever" sounds divine Jess! Thanks for always showing me the bright side ...I need that when it all seems so BIG and so far away!!

Sharon, I'm so sorry your machine is seriously ill...make some money and what happens...get to rebuild the machine. Maybe it'll be good to go for many years after this fix.

Ronna, yes, gotta see pics of the purses. Oh, the tiny wooden show forms...be still my heart!!!! Just take a good picture so I can save it...I know you won't ever let go of them..LOL

Carol Sue, How's those mini's coming along...mine are moving slowly

$12,000 for a sewing machine? That's craziness. Anyone that can spend that on a sewing machine has waaayyyy too much superfluous cash and needs to send me some pronto. lol The most I've spent on a sewing machine is $100.

Pike's Peak, Ronna. Yes, ole Zeb never even made it to the top of the Peak.
