Oh my....jumping in with no hopes of catching up! Thanks for the comments girls, it was such a surprise to find Apronology in my mailbox so early.

Yes, Steph, they are doing another edition....submissions have to be in by September. I am issuing this challenge......we are the apron thread....we should have better representation in this magazine....so I think everyone should come up with an apron to submit by September....

Great images on your Blog, Steph....love those ladies...especially the one at the treadle. I might have to snag that one and make a quilt for my sewing room! That might be a great way to use up all my scraps....ala Bonne style!!

I have been without my favorite machine this past week...it was in the hospital. But, gratefully it is back home and I am going to spend a bit of time with her today!j

Autumn...great dresses, I knew you could do it!!

Bonne~Love those owl mittens. They are so cute. I can't wait until Apronology is out in the stores here. I am anxiously awaiting it. I think it's supposed to be Feb. 1 and I will be there on that day to buy it.

OMG!! I love those studio spaces. I want a room like that. I have a room in the basement that I can use and I am going to reorganize it this spring. The only thing is there isn't any heat in there in the winter. I could use a space heater though. Those studios are gorgeous.

Bev~congratulations!!! Such a beautiful apron and a great layout in the magazine!!!

Jess~I can't wait to see your barn if you do that to it.

yes, we need a submission tutorial on the mag.

autumn, great dresses

if it is more than 2 yards steph, I hang it on a 12 foot wooden closet rod and I have a 12 foot shelf on top of that with cardboard photo boxes, plastic tubs, and metal tins and a couple of baskets to hold vintage patterns, more 2" charm squares than I think I will ever use, notions notions notion, and other crafting stuff. As well I have 3 large shelving units, and 2 desks, one for keeping me organized(which is not so easy to do ) and one for cutting, I am ready for JOhn's things to leave the barn so I can have it. Hopefully we will put in a new floor this summer, then line one wall of the main room with shelves for kids games, then the back room will be all my sewing stuff...maybe, sounds good but not sure I am ready to move it all until emilia is a bit older.

Hey, Kim! good to "see" you here.
Holy crap why is my keyboard all gummy...??? anyway,
Jess, how is the barn heated? Do you need a wood stove out there too?
That would be nice.
I have 2 closets in my house total. 2! what the....?
who built this place? lol If I want to hang fabric, it would have to be on the hangers under my clothes and
my clothes rack is already bowing. That's a no-go. After acquiring my spinning hobby last fall, I came to
the awful realization that I'd run out of space literally, hence, no more fabric buying. I've got a little chest of drawers in the kitchen and it has fabric in it! In the kitchen!! LOL

Autumn, so happy to see 2 more dresses in your wardrobe!! See, now wasn't that much better than spending $120 + shipping on 3?

Carol Sue, we'll have to work on you. I'm seeing you in a mod sleeveless A-line.

Tennis balls or there are some knobby cheap balls for dogs you can use. I bought those blue knobby ones that are specifically for dryers http://www.amazon.com/Amazing-Dryer-Balls-Light-Diameter/dp/B0009WK23Y and one of them split within the 2nd month, so I replaced them with dog toys I found at Family Dollar.

What the heck ever happened to Ivory Snow? When I was in college, I was on a "natural/homemade etc" kick because, as you all know, in the 70's we were DOING this ecological stuff ANYWAY, but somehow lost sight of it in the 80's. Well, I was buying Ivory Snow and washing soda to do laundry, but now Ivory Snow is not just "soap" anymore , it's "synthetic detergent"!!! arghh!!! all the more reason to start making your own soap. It gets expensive though, being homemade doesn't = cheap, and lye isn't as easy & cheap to find anymore thanks to the Meth makers. In the old days women saved the fat drippings and ran water through the wood ashes for lye, but I'm not going THAT pioneer.(well, I HAVE rendered fat and that ain't pretty neither)

Oh, and Ronna's starter aka "Zeb" is just bubbling it's little heart out.
She's definitely got the good yeasties going on in her kitchen~my previous attempt at starting from
scratch was miserable and flat.
