It is soooo cold here too. Not that unusual for us in January, but it is lower than normal. Our driveway is an ice rink! I remember how Ronna told us to walk, and I do it!:)

Sheryl-lyn~have a good week. You are one busy gal. Can't wait to go over and see your minis.

Jess~I am working on my last owl hat. Can't wait until you get them. Can't wait to see the costume.

Teresa~Can you email me your address. The hats are ready to go.

Stephanie~I can't believe that mall cop. Just a little power and it goes to their heads.

Dh installed a new virus protection and it is being a pain. It won't let us connect to the internet unless we disable it. I hope this gets fixed soon. I can't be here long.

Yay!!! get those durned mini's done!! Looks to be that most of them are going to be in blues~I'm good with that~we can show them off all during the winter season. ;)

Anyone doing any more baking? I had to quit~got backlogged, but it's so much fun!
I just mixed up some more "sponge"that will rise today, so I can bring it up to my son's for a sourdough pizza crust tomorrow. Providing we don't get too much snow. I'm anxious to see how the pizza crust turns out.

Jess, when you get a minute (ha!) snap a pic of the winter fairy costume. ;)

John is out with the kids playing pond hockey, celebrating, Lexi's team is in 2nd place, but they just beat the first place team. They remain in 2nd, but they beat the team who had 0 losses! Anyway, John has the camera, so pics will wait till they get back.

Sheryl, your blog pics are great...that top is going to sing!

Bonne: Maybe we can get Kathie to host a seasonal swap or something. Love hanging the minis when they are done, but don't want to do anymore for a while!

Got another row of blocks done for my quilt. Forget that book called A MILLION LITTLE PIECES!! I have the real million pieces! ;) Have to sew a block for my BOM tonight too. I am in an embroidery BOM club too. Hate the one we are doing now (really abstract and modern) but I got all vintage fabrics and am using only black thread for the embroidery. I will probably like it when it is all done, but never even want to work on it.

I really want to make a laundry bag one of these days. Maybe if someone started a swap for them I would make it!

Sheryl-lyn, that quilt is going to be wonderful. love the pattern.
Pond hockey...what fun for them. How is Lexi doing Jess? I tried to ice skate once when I was a teenager and was a mess. With my feet being nearly backwards when I was born, the braces corrected it but left me with weak ankles.
stepbrother and his lady are coming over this afternoon and I invited them to stay for dinner. Was spitting snow all morning, so decided on chicken pot pie. Chicken already cooked in the freezer, pastry dough also, so it will be easy to put together. Took 3 bags of peaches from my tree out too, so will make a crisp or cobbler. We went out for breakfast, highly unusual here, but Larry offered once last month too. A decent, actually good casual place opened and is probably putting the few others in town out of business. Someday, we might even get another grocery store! Walmart has been open almost a year, but it doesn't count in my book as a grocery store.

Don't you just love changing the needles in your serger?

First off you have to search for that little allen wrench. Then screw off that little nut which invariably falls on the floor and bounces up and over....you're on your knees searching for it and see all the crap that's built up under your chest of drawers and tables, but you can't vacuum it until you find that tiny nut because god knows where you can get a replacement on short notice. Then you finally find it on the throw rug...how the heck did it bounce that far!! fumble with the needles because they give you absolutely NO room to get your fingers in there to position the needles....drop the needle several times, then finally get it shoved into position...try to screw that dang nut in , then do it all over again, because there are 2 needles!!

Autumn~I love the clothespin bag.

I definitely want to join the swap for a clothespin bag. I have wanted to make one for a while but never got to it. This will be so much fun.

The owl hats are all done. They are all ready to go to their homes tomorrow. Now I'm working on one for my son. He just had to have one, too.

I will post pics when it's done.

I think hubby found out what was wrong with this new virus protection and now it is letting us connect to the internet.

I have some things to get ready for school tomorrow. Already typed out my daughters English test~4 pages~She's going to love me in the morning. I just need to get a couple more things finished.

I did three loads of laundry today and this wasn't even laundry day. I folded two of them and put away one basket full. I'll save the other load and basketful for tomorrow. It's the kids' laundry and they can put it away themselves.

Bonne~It doesn't sound like fun.

can't wait to make the clothespin bag! I love it.

Bonne: I hate just about everything about my serger, except for the sewing I do with it when the planets align and the earth stands still and it is threaded correctly and the needles don't break.

I use an allen key for my needles. I have trouble threading that #4 thread (the lower or upper looper) because I need a magnifying glass and tweezers to get in there.

ok me too.

this is so ridiculous. 13 days ago I placed an order on Joanns.com, it still has not been shipped. I just emailed customer service and told them how I really felt. If I woudl have known it was going to take this long, I could have walked to my Joann's here in town. Grief!

A little advice girls- hubby is thinking I need a serger but neither of us want to spend big bucks since Ifeel like it will have limited use for the things I do.
What features do I look for and which do I run from?
I dont know the first thing about em- but keep in mind I'm pretty budget minded so no bells and whistles.

Sheryl-lyn did you mean a clothespin bag or a laundry bag? I've done one for a friend and have always wanted to do one for myself-(laundry bag)

Blessings,
