Someday I am going to learn to quilt. You ladies have inspired me. I have wanted to learn for a long time now I know I have to.
Any good book suggestions for learning?
Sheryl-lyn~I'm so glad you are enjoying the hat.
I am anxiously awaiting my starter from Ronna. Can't wait to make that bread.
we will be getting snow tonight and tomorrow. Maybe ds gym class will be canceled. I don't want to go out if it's nasty.
i have to go type up a science test for my son tomorrow.

Ruth, I'm right there with you on "the cash comes in handy"....I've got to get going on selling stuff again.....bartered goods don't help pay the mortgage.
We are having an ice storm so won't be hitting the interstate til Thursday and hoping that Nashville snow and ice has melted by the time we go through it. I ran into a lady while in Kinko's today that is from Knoxville and she said on her trip to Memphis last Saturday she was on I-40 west going over the mountain and when everyone started down the other side they started sliding. Two 18 wheelers and 18 other cars all piled up.
I was telling her we were struggling to get a truck full of our stuff moved and she quickly told me don't even think about it unless there is 40+ degree temps and no storm fronts rolling in..said we'd never make it up the mountain...I know it's a roller coaster through that last 75 miles. So it may be springtime the rate this is going before we get the truck over there. I'll have Friday to get my tag and license done and turn around and head back.
Bev, I know what you mean...if I was eating all of the stuff Jess, Ronna and Bonne have cooked this past week I'd be in a size larger pants.

Teresa, go to Hasbrotoyshop.com for missing directions, not sure if it's right there to download and print, but they will be able to get it to you. Bev and the sourdough bakers...I've left my starter in the fridge for probably a year without feeding or using. It always comes right back to bubbling within an hour when I bring it out and feed it. Just be sure to mark the container so someone doesn't decide to be helpful and think it's something gone bad. Hooch will get really dark, like tea. I use a Tupperware container to keep it air tight and safe. |

I will never catch up reading. I've spent the past two days cleaning the craft room and I finally finished it-tonight! Honestly. It was an absolute pit. I have a huge pile of stuff to go to the Goodwill and 3 bags of trash. Now all I want to do is to sit in there and admire how clean it is. lol Naomi- I stepped on the pine cone and fell, rolling my right foot underneath me. I over-compensated when I got up, twisting it in the other direction. It hurt like the dickens for two days, but it's fine now. Had to get that room clean, so no pussy-footing around for me! lol

ooh I found your pics....gorgeous...wow...jeez....love the color too...but seriously....did you have to clean it *that* much!? It is magazine perfect!...ooh..btw...loove that you stack your fabric by color...I want to do that...oh and I found somewhere where someone had used one of those quilting rulers to fold all her fabric the exact same size...really clever...I need to do that too...

| My find of the day....an Emilio Pucci scarf, with the genuine label and another label "made in Italy exclusively for Saks Fifth Avenue". Funny thing is, I didn't know what I had until looking at it when I got home. I just saw that it was silk and a very cool design. Price? 80 cents..$1 less the 20% senior discount. I had a Pucci skirt and top many years back, paid $5 I think. Let my nephew, the gay drama queen from TN take it home and supposedly it was stolen by my sisters grandkids. Why they would steal it is anyones guess...someome probably sold it. yes, I'll leave it out so I can take a photo, you artistic ones will love it. |

| I just checked eBay and the scarves are going for about $100 and up. I knew they were pricy, but that amazes me. If I'd just start selling some of my 'finds' I'd be able to make a living at it. I know sales are down for everything, bad timing to sell now. Don't think this one will be a neck scarf for the Lab :) |

| thanks Naomi. If I keep finding "name brand" stuff, I could open a boutique. yeah sure, in this farmy ranchy redneck town, I'd not sell a thing but they'd all want something for nothing. |

hahaha...Ronna...you just described this town....rofl... except for the "farmy ranchy" bit....haha Totally know what you mean...now...I will be honest...I wouldn't pay $100 for a scarf...no...I'd pay $100 for a bulk lot of undyed silk scarves, dye/paint em all really awesome, and sell them for $100 each....hahahaha

Nay, your cards look great girl.
Linda, kudos to you and your dating. I agree with Ronna have him pick the movie. Smart move, haven't been to one in a long time. Glad you are dating though.
Bonne you and your serger adventure had me laughing so hard, only because I would have been doing exactly the same thing. Are you sure we aren't sistahs!!!!!!
Jess, yes, like the clothespin bag swap. Yes, will sign up for that one. Can't beleive I am writing tha one. You did great on the bags and the fairy costume too.
Bev, gotta go look at your blog quick before the sleepies get me.
Karin, You take care of yourself girlie, and owiiieeeee. If not one thing, another. Sewing is challenging when you are toooo darn cold.
Steph, you gals are not having good weather at all down there. No, I did not send it your way. Ice storms majorly suck!!!!!
I think we all are so so so ready for spring, but it is a ways off for us here. Will have to live through some of our girls in the more southern regions...ahhhhhh
Yes, had a bit of a small pipe adventure today, thankfully it was a very easy fix. Yipppeeee!!!!!!! Other than that just moving slow, now I am hopefully headed to bed. Will chat tomorrow, hopefully when you all are up.....grin.....
