Hey Tina,
I was gonna mention Barbie Jo over at Cleo and Me I use the wool/rayon blend felt that she sells...With the rayon blended in it has a nice drape to it and the colors are so pretty. And the price is very reasonable compared to buying 100% woolfelt.
Do you use the felt or do you use pieces of felted wool fabric?
Autumn, I remember months ago seeing your penny rugs..where is that link...do you remember? Or is it lost forever in the old apron topic? You could post them over in the quilt n stitch topic since it would be easier to find over there in the future than in this topic.
Won't be long and Bev will be starting another topic since this one is already way to big to ever find anything.

Hi everyone!! Have been trying to keep up with this thread even though I am not getting a chance to post. My husband and son are outside putting up the roping and lights today. It isn't too cold, so a perfect day. I made curtains this week and a tablecloth for the kitchen. I will try to take a picture and post it later. I had fun doing them. I made a few aprons this week as well and am working on a new one (new for me--I have seen it here many times) and have plans for a few others later in the week. Hope you are all having a good weekend!

my screen just showed the tablecloth...:-) I like it too! That's a good inspiration..I could make a new cloth tablecloth. It would be nice compared to the plastic ones I use alot! I really like this one you made. :-)

Naomi: Do I understand that you rarely sleep!? I enjoyed your blog also. I try to check in every few weeks to see what some of you are up to on your blogs. How in the world do you all manage to get them done and to make them look so pretty?

Cute cute stuffs, Sheryl-lyn! Do you use a "ruffler attachment" to do the ruffles? I need to (also on the TO DO List) get bizzy learning to use my attachments that I've gotten with my treadles. The manual is so impressive with what can be done, but so far I've just ignored attachments when it comes to sewing, and I know I'm missing the boat entirely! LOL
Start a blog Sheryl-lyn. It's amazing how everything looks so good with minimal effort~just post and upload a pic and the template you've chosen makes it all purdy.

I'll have to see where hubby stashed it. We keep it in a hat box so it doesn't get ruined~and I think it's up in the shed. Looks just like a typical cowboy hat. I thought he was BS-ing me when I first met him and he told me his G-Pa was a rodeo cowboy/clown, then I saw the old newpaper articles about him. He used to do tricks with a jersey bull. The bull died of "unknown causes" 1 day after his master passed away suddenly from a burst appendix. This was all back in the 30's.

Bonne: It took me almost a year to try the ruffler attachment!! How ridiculous, huh? I get intimidated by what looks complicated, but it is really so easy to use. When I got my embroidery machine, it took six months for me to try it and when I did use it, it really was as easy as pushing a button and changing thread. The only problem is that my Huskvarna machine does not give good directions for the attachments, so I have to look online for easy ones to follow.

Wouldn't it be awesome if we really could get together for coffee and tea once in a while? I drink tea when I read the threads here, so I guess that is close, but it would be great.
About the blog idea...maybe I will give it a try next summer when I am off for a few months. I'll just keep reading all of yours for now. I do enjoy that.
Naomi: I think you get plenty done. If that is you being rushed at deadlines, it works for you. |

Thanks Sheryl-lyn...it works, but would work much better if I got it done when I first knew I needed to get it done...haha
progress report: top of civil war dress...nearly complete, just about to put waistband on, then I'll do sleeves/cuffs, do collar, attach collar, and then...I'll do the buttons/buttonholes and then it'll be complete except for the hooks/eyes on the waistbands...then provided I have time, I'll do the 50s dress, and see how that goes...if I finish tonight, then I'll work on the baby outfit that is due on Tuesday...then tomorrow,, finish the baby outfit, and cut out and start sewing lil sisters civil war dress....whew...

Hi, no, I don't use the wool felt..I use the felt that comes in the bolts..I think it's like 72 wide or something. Seems to work fine though. Of course the items I am making are mostly for "looks" and not so much as something to be toted around like a purse or toy. Thanks for sharing the links. Tina

sheryl and nay you are busy! I am fnishing up the sign for my friends Tea Room and gift shop. I will post pics later on tonight, and then to finish up my squares. I have 3 pkgs that need to go out in the morning, plus possibly another, a few more loads of laundry to put away, actually taught my husband how to fold this weekend and he has been a master folder. So then maybe tomorrow we can finally put up our tree. My inlaws think they now maybe just cannot make it until the 26th, so they get to walk in on Christmas aftermath...yeah! okay, so to finish sign painting, it turned out really cute.
