thanks.:0) I tried to make sure this yers Christmas tree was definitely "farm girlly" :0) I love how it turned out.
And thanks for checking out my penny rug. I'm pleased with how it turned out. The first one I ever made, but I think I'm hooked. It was fun, and after I taught myself the stitches the second rug took only a third of the time as my first one did.
I think the design that I used for the rug would look so cute on simple muslin valances that have a red gingham check border and then a couple of the blackbirds on them. I think it would be adorable for sure.

I am hooked on them- I see a penny rug in every piece of wool- too bad we live where wool is so scarce!

I think I found the place I was SUPPOSED to post these pics- sorry I am very frazzled right now!!!
TINA- the stars and funny shaped almost round almost square rug are my own designs to fit specific table tops the pillow is a pattern(one of my first attemps) and the other is the pattern that Annika gave a link to- on All People Quilt(BHG)

Wow, Nay you are a sewing machine (get it??? a sewing machine....sometimes I just crack myself up)
Big day today....I am going for a salon hairdo.....first one in about 10 or more years......having some dark (lowlights) put in my blond tresses....I must admit I am a little scared!! Oh well, nothing ventured, nothing gained. I once had green hair....so how bad could this be???
I sewed a housecleaning apron today....will post later...kinda cute with lots of pockets.
Wish me luck.....ok....heading out!!!!
PS....I splurged this morning and ordered one of Malphi's flower picking pinafore kits.....cannot wait til it makes its long trip across the Atlantic and ends up on my doorstop!! WOOOOOOHooooooo. Christmas present to me!!!

progress report=
50s dress= all assembled minus collar..just cut that out, next interfacing and final construction!
hannahs dress=cut it all out last night, construction should take no time at all
grandpas gourd=picked out, ready to be sanded and something done to it..dunno what yet though..
packing=mostly done
my room=ugh..dont ask

Hannah's dress is about 75% done...just the sleeves and collar now...petticoat was rough...lots of netting...uuuugh...grandpas gourd, baked the feet, painted part of the hat...still figuring out how exactly how else to do it...hahaha sad...I design as I go on gourds....hehe
gotta run..still much to do!

Thanks! that was with me taking short cuts! didnt overcast the seams, trimmed where only nessary...no interfacing...Its "just a costume" so I'm not putting a while lot of extras into it.

yes, Nay has been a sewing machine the last couple of days. She whipped that little civil war style dress out for little sis Hannah this evening, a krinoline lining, plus a two tiered dress with long sleeves and shorter sleeve overlay. Then she finished a 1950's style dress. And then on Tuesday she made a heirloom quality little baby outfit with bonnet.
My gracious.
Yes I'm proud of her. She has loads of talent.

love, love the penny rugs!! They are some of my favorite things to make and have around the house.
I also love the cleaning apron and would like to make one! (Maybe this weekend! Ha)
