I feel really happy about it. It is from a small organic farm in Moyie Springs, called Better Earth Farm. It is their first season with a CSA program. I am excited because I'll get fruit and veggies and lavender. Also important, my $$ will stay in Bonners Ferry, ID. I still want to plant some flowers and a few veggie starts, but I will most likely have to do containers this year, due to my deer highway. http://www.foodroutes.org/

That's great, Trish! Are you required to help with the harvest? Our CSA's around here don't require it, but there's a hefty discount if you do...but I work full time so I can't. My sil has the BEST CSA she bought into in Indianapolis. They work in conjunction with organic dairies, artisan bread makers, etc...and deliver whatever you need from each place plus your weekly vege haul.
I'm happy for you, for sure! I like to keep my money local most of the time, too. Take a photo of your first haul

Good job Trish, I'm offering a CSA program here on our farm for the first time. We specialize in Certified Organic salad greens, herbs, produce, flowers,(lavender too!)also bedding plants and starts. It's always fun to see what other farms offer. I know customers love to see the variety and what surprises they have coming each week!

I am not required to work, but I am required to pick it up at the Farmers Market every Sat. So I will end up buying honey, bread, eggs, etc. My farm guy puts flowers in his salad mix! I am so looking forward to it.
Hopefully this post will remind my lovely Karla to sign up for her CSA SOON!!!

I love flowers in my salad...well, except for nasturiums because they make my tongue swell up and my throat close. Food is MUCH less enjoyable that way :)
