Ever notice how when it rains it pours...well, it seems in my life it does. Not only is my poor hubby awaiting his spinal surgery, my Mom has been out driving drunk again,& my middle daughter has been hospitalized this past week with bipolar mania/suicide thoughts, but now Holly my youngest and most dear child has found a lump in her breast which they think is a fibroadenoma but they are biopsing to be sure. She is only 22, but we just found out one of her grandfathers sisters did die from breast cancer. And tonight my eldest daughter (single mom of 3)her landlord showed up at the house they are renting and told them he was putting on the market TOMORROW (thanks for the notice )so they have 30 - 60 days to find a new place they can afford. Some days you just wished you stayed in bed I tell you. I am just spinning trying to figure out which way to go without cracking up..how much worrying is one Mom/wife/gal supposed to do? Please keep our family in your prayers girls..we need it right now, love and thanks to you all...Diane |

Oh Diane,
I really feel for you! That is a hugh amount for anyone to bear. I prayer that God will give you plenty of strength and good solid rest.
Please keep us up to date on your situation, especially Holly. I had fibrous breasts all through my twenties and thirties because of a simple thing like too much caffeine in my diet. They're quite common and she will probably be fine but she is right to get checked out anyway.
I will continue to keep you in my prayers.

((hugs)) Diane. Just remember you have to take care of yourself first, or you will not have enough energy to feel helpful for the others in your life. And remember, you cannot fix these things. You can offer support, but ultimately each family member is charting their own course, and it is their road on this life journey. Hugs to Holly too. Be well, girls. Lifting you up in light and love.
May the sun bring you new energy by day, may the moon softly restore you by night, may the rain wash away your worries, may the breeze blow new strength into your being, may you walk gently through the world and know its beauty all the days of your life. ~~Apache Blessing

(((( Diane )))) Such an awful lot to be going on! Spread over time, it would be enough to make a person go overboard. But all at once.... Yikes! Prayers being said and from what I have gathered in my short time being here, you have a lot of caring, supportive ladies on hand. Be sure to use their love and support! ~~~Toni~~~

Dearest Diane, I am hugging you now and sending up prayers on behalf of all your family. I will continue to stand in the gap. Hope, this doesn't offend, but there is a story in the Old Testament of the Bible where the Lord told Moses to go to battle. As long as he held up his staff the battle would go for them. If he lowered the staff the battle would go against them. His arms got tires so Aaron and Hur each held up Moses' arm to keep the battle going well. My point, in the midst of your battle, the prayers of the many will be holding up your arms in support, as Toni said. Simply, Julia

Diane, I will definately be praying for you and your family. That's usually how it goes for us when we are having difficulty. It all happens at once.
Blessings,

Diane I'm sorry to hear this news. My prayers join with yours this night and the nights to come.
Watch, O Lord, with those who wake, or watch, or weep tonight, and give your angels charge over those who sleep.Defend them day by day with your heavenly grace, strengthen them in their trials and give them courage to face the unknowns. Amen. |

Thank you from the bottom of our collective hearts for the warm thoughts, hugs, and prayers given joyfully. I am truly blessed and grateful to have found all of you wonderful women. Hubby went to the Dr. today and got the go ahead for his surgery, so the waiting for that is nearly over. They will put in cadaver bones and fuse three of his neck vertabrae together with titanium plates and screws..Eeewww, sounds creepy. The Cowgirl is still waiting for a referral. Love to you all.

Diane, My Husband had a cadaver bone used when he had two of his vertabraes fused. He had it done 5 years ago and would do it all over again. We kid him a lot about his "new bones", 'cause other wise it would creep me out to think about it to long. So I am going to stop now, blah! Anyway, prayers continue! How are the girls? How are YOU!

Julia...thanks for that message, i will share it with hubby. Might make him feel better, he is a little creeped out too.Anything to get rid of the pain and get him back to the profession he loves. I am okay, thanks for asking. What else can you do than deal with what the Lord and the world throw at you...the girls are doing fine...they have lived pretty sheltered lives in a family of love thus far in their lives, so they don't worry as much as their old Mom who grew up on the street! I always remind myself that regardless of what I go through, God is never rattled. Hang in there! By the way I will be up your way the first part of Nov. visiting my family while my DH and middle daughter go to Israel. So... don't know if we can wing it, but maybe we can meet in the middle (I will be in Elma) and do lunch. Maybe we can put it on the back burner?

Diane-- When I was in physical therapy about a year ago there were two people who came at the same time as me who were getting aclimated to their "new" bones and connective tissue. The woman who was my age had shattered her leg in an accident and it was almost amputated. Her objective was to walk down the aisle for her sons wedding and not be on crutches. It was amazing to watch her progress. The man who was 60+ had something closer to your husband and it was neck and shoulder repair. He did not have the right atitutude and did not make nearly as much progress. I would think that with all your love and support you will have him back to his old self ( or his new "bionic" self) in no time! Here's wishing all the best for all of you. Keep your chin up and remember that this too shall pass.
with a happy heart |

Diane, I am praying for you and your family.
I too have been plagued with fibroadenomas since I was your daughters age. My mother and her mother are/were both breat cancer survivors. I have had 5 lumps removed in 3 surgeries between both breasts. I jokingly refer to them as my "Frankenboobies". The very first lump I had was at the age of 8 when I banged into a box. Thankfully, that one went away. I always tell myself "What doesn't kill me makes me stronger." I know in my heart your daughter will be fine. Be persistant in calling the doctor for the lab results. I called EVERYDAY. The statics are in favor of your daughter. Especially if she found it herself. I found all of mine but one and the surgeon found the other one when he did a pre-surgery exam for the lump in my opposite breast. He even put me on tamoxifen for a year.
Please feel free to e-mail me on this and pass the word along to your daughter if she would like to talk to someone who has been through this.
Bi-polar/suicide also runs in my family, though I don't have first hand experience with it. My great grandfather spent a few years in the Indiana State Metal hospital and my father's aunt committed suicide. Subjects like these need to be addressed and not hidden in the closet anymore.
Know you are not alone.
(((((hugs)))))

Diane - My sister had similar surgery and it was very successful. I am praying most of all for YOU. I pray that you will be supported by God, and He will give you strength and clarity and a calm heart so that you can be of help to all of your family. God bless you.
