Since I know that many of you farmgirls love hats as much as I do, I just had to share this link. There isn't much to see on the opening page, but the portfolio is a treasure trove. Have fun!

I like the second one from the bottom, the one with the big white flower on it. I could see that here in Texas, during the Fair or walking the SA River Walk. : )

Thanks for sharing. I am often sorry that I missed the era of wearing hats. Sometimes I wear one just to be a rebel.

What lovely hats. Hats are coming back in my neighborhood, because I wear them all the time...

girls, hats are back in. they are all over in the stores this season and are predicted to still be hot come fall. anyway, some styles are timeless. a woman in a hat always makes a statement.

Ummm yeah. I always have to supress major peals of laughter when I hear that folks wish hats would "come back in style". I'll tell ya, a so called bad economy & I'm selling hats as strong as usual. I've been crafting fun headwear since 1991, and hats are hotter than ever!

The most amazing thing is, the nuttier the design, it's more coveted.

Hats like this one below, poof! They find homes like you would not believe! People feel good in my hats, that's the one common thread I see. I pay particular attention to details, and don't scrimp.

Red Bird Top hat:

Hats of this style were real popular in the early 2000 days.

My style is a bit more laid back now that I have a little girl. It's about making good style, yet fast. So I don't make the fancy elaborate handmade like I used to! That all may change when the little one goes to kindergarten...

Detail of my more simple styles:

Everything is better when you wear a hat....

Oh my goodness Sayra! I adore your hats, all of them. y friend A sometimes wears a hat and I want to wear one too. I did buy a big floppy vintage one this summer but didn't have the courage, aaahhh! Might buy me a nice winter hat and WILL wear it! Hats ARE "in style" again this winter so .....

I wear hats often, a wide brimmed, floppy straw hat in the summer (because I freckle) and hand felted wool or knit wool in the winter. I've worn hats since I was small, though. Something my mom always had me in. I think it's a southern thing, maybe.

Hopefully Violet will share my love--I've got some killer vintage cloches.

Corinne--thanks for posting the link--LOVE the Adelia!

sayra,
your hats are amazing. i would so wear the red bird top hat! the blue cloche is great too.

imo, hats are always instyle as long as you have the brass to carry them off. i wear a hat probably 5 days a week and the people i meet love it. in several different places i'm known as "the hat girl." currently i have two vintage hats waiting for a redo so that i can add them to my wearable collection. the blue pill box with the torn netting needs some quick tlc before next weeks rock-a-billy concert.

a designer, i cant remember who he is, said that "a hat is the dot on the i" when i was looking for this quote i found a whole page of hat quotes...enjoy, http://www.hatladies.org/enjoying_hat_quotes.htm

Hats are pretty darned great. I have pale skin, and tons of freckles, so I wear one whenever in the garden. After years of people calling me "the hat lady" I said, no, "I'm the hatdiva!" Oddly the name stuck, and has been with me ever since. Although my interest has turned towards spinning, and felting wool the love of hats is still there.

I'll let this picture do all the talking....one of my hat fans trying on hats:

If you're really into reading about hats, and more I have my blog listed below. There's alot of hat-related fun stuff going on there!

Sayra, I love the photo of one of your hat fans trying on a hat. I love that style, only maybe a bit smaller brim, but I have a difficult time finding hats to fit my apparently slightly larger than average market size head. Any suggestions?

I wear a big red hat with a crochet purple flower! I don't even belong to Red Hat ladies (yet)
Actually I always wear hats...to keep sun out of my eyes for the most part.

Our Mountain Farmgirls of Idaho City Chapter is meeting this Sunday to create garden hats. We are using existing straw hats and we are going to decorate them with ribbon, silk flowers, rick rack, jewelry, net, fabric, whatever else we come up with. We want to have a tea party next spring and are going to start gearing up for it.

We decided that our meetings need to be classes so next month it will be a jewelry class, then a painting class and in December we are going to do a Cookie Exchange/Ornament exchange. We think that will be fun and we will not only walk away with cookies but with unique ornaments for our trees!

One of our farmgirls who is on the Historic Foundation is going to ask if we can use a really cool house in town that was gifted to them when one of our locals died, for our meetings and classes. That would be so cool!!

Idaho City Farmgirls Rock!

Some people look for happiness, others create it!!!

We are never alone in the forest of Sisters! We "Mountain Farmgirls" are outstanding in our field!
